Are you saying he wouldn't know what his task force is briefing? Fauci said he hadn't seen POTUS for two months yet Fauci was still briefing on behalf of the WH just two weeks ago despite not having personally seen the President for two months. That is what I am querying. Why hasn't he seen the President for two months, since mid May. What happened two months ago?

Well that is strange because his last briefing was only 2 weeks ago when he was still briefing on behalf of the WH CV Task Force.

Fauci says young people driving "paradigm shift" in virus pandemic - CBS News

Trump does not trust nor follow the advice of experts such as Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease specialist.

The President has not attended a meeting of his coronavirus task force in months and recently its sessions have been held outside the White House, including on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Department of Education. Fauci was told to participate in the meeting remotely by videoconference, preventing him from participating in a midday task force press briefing.

The President has complained to aides in meetings for months that Fauci's television appearances -- which have been sharply curtailed by the White House -- often seem to contradict his own message.

Trump now in open dispute with health officials as virus rages

Iowa numbers today: As of between 10:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m today, we have 641 (IMO) new confirmed cases and 3 more have passed away. We now have a total of 33,756-33,762 (IMO) confirmed cases of which 25,750-25,819 (IMO) have recovered. The news is reporting a decrease of 482 recoveries from what was reported yesterday and IMO it is at least 431 because yesterday I had 26,250 at 11:00 a.m. A total of 742 have passed away. IMO, their page is not working properly today even though they said they have updated the accessibility status page today, the numbers are from yesterday yet. Here is the website in real time as it has already changed as I was typing this.Iowa COVID-19 Information ETA-here is the part of the page that still has yesterday's numbers (100% sure about this) Iowa COVID-19 Information

Last time Fauci saw the president was 2 Jun, not two months ago and the VP on 26th June.

Trump says Fauci 'made a lot of mistakes'

Fauci last saw Trump in person at the White House on June 2, according to a reportpublished Friday by The Financial Times after interviewing Fauci. He also said that he hasn't briefed Trump for at least two months.

In an interview on Sirius XM Thursday, Fauci criticized the states and cities that did not follow the guidelines put out by the administration on how to reopen their regions. He also said he doesn't understand why people are still asking about a second wave when the U.S. is still "knee-deep in the first wave."

208,495 active cases in FL alone right now. I wonder how many of them will die over the next 2-3 weeks? How is that acceptable to them? I don't get it.

I maybe go shopping once or twice a month. No more "popping" to the store for a quick deli meal.

Oh the good ole days—sob. Who knew what a gift that really was. How could we have ever imagined...

30,000 cases already with 12 hours to go.:(

You're like me - we're just sitting here (maybe biting our nails) and watching the numbers go up. We'll be very close to where we were yesterday - and I wonder if that will just stay our plateau for weeks to come.

I am so happy for them. This shows what positive leadership can do. I hope they can continue to keep their numbers down.

Studies are showing that 48-67% of various parts of the metropolitan NYC area have already had CoVid.

This too is good news, and is certainly helping keep that positivity rate much lower. The numbers surprised the researchers.

Coronavirus in Ohio update: 23,016 cases, 1,306 deaths | NBC4 WCMH-TV

The latest number of cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus in the state has been released by the Ohio Department of Health.

As of July 10, a total of 62,856(+1,525) cases were reported in Ohio since the pandemic began, leading to 3,032(+26) deaths and 8,701(+131) hospitalizations. There are 43,435(+1,324) presumed recovered cases in Ohio.

This is the highest jump in cases since Ohio began recording the daily numbers. The previous high was 1,380 on April 19.

ETA The numbers in the headline don't reflect the real numbers o_O

I saw an article earlier than the governor had mandated masks in a number of counties in an attempt to slow it down. So many states are having a rough time.:(

Yes, and it is in my area of Virginia Beach.
We can't blame it all on the tourists that come here and leave.
This area of Virginia is very "red" as opposed to most of the rest of VA which is "blue" (sorry that is as political as I will get but it plays a factor)
So even though we have mandatory mask rules in effect...I would say that its a crap shoot here on how many are wearing them. I do always (N95 with cloth mask over it) anytime I go anywhere, even to the local park to walk my dog!
Our guv has threatened to go back to phase 2 if necessary, we are in phase 3....and even lockdown again and he says "it will happen" its not a threat, if our numbers keep going up.
So- here's an example that happened yesterday...25 people (yes 25!) on a deck of a beach house...the deck collapsed, 2 with serious head injuries in hospital, lots of other injuries...but see...beach houses, beach parties, etc etc. MOO

I did see Northam made a FB post that numbers were high in Hampton Roads and the threat. I don't see it happening. MOO....he's lost interest, no press conferences on Covid since the end of May. I guess he's now governing thru FB.

We are still experiencing deaths in our area, announced daily by the local health dept that have not shown up in the state site by locality, some are 2 and three weeks old. Can't get any answers.

Things are pretty bad on this (western) side of the state.

Interesting.

While post-immunity may play a short term role, I’m still not sold on this immunity factor going forward for the long term, moo. I saw something the other day which mentioned the “fading” of these antibodies. And if there is a new strain which emerges...imo herd immunity is not something we can necessarily bank on. But who knows.

As I read it, they absolutely did tell them not to ask if they attended a protest. How convenient.

Here's a copy of the contact tracing form from the CDC. It's a decent questionaire. It is not designed to create any kind of social bias, much like a prosecutor doesn't ask leading questions in court. But it does get the required information necessary for contract tracing.

My “how convenient” wasn’t directed at you. It’s convenient for DeBlasio to say there is no increase in Covid caused by protesters when he has directed contact tracers not to even ask.

It's easier to get that data than asking contract tracers.

Contact tracing truly does need to be just tracing contacts. It needs to be efficient, quick and reliable. The tracers have to stay on task.

I'm beginning to think Dr Fauci's prediction of 100,000 new cases per day is in our future. We have to get control of this thing somehow before that prediction actually comes to pass.

We're already probably 2-3 weeks ahead of what we're seeing now. I imagine in the not too distant future, the 100K figure will be a foregone conclusion.

Mask Mandate in effect as of 7.12.2020 due to confirmed community spread in my county in NE TN. Local Healthcare system has stated their present COVID-19 unit is at capacity but they do have resources to expand that capacity. They are concerned with resource availability as flu season is on the horizon.
Places of worship are exempt.
The NASCAR race still on as planned, 30K allowed.

I sincerely hope anyone attending worship services in person will wear their mask and pray for divine intervention regarding the race.

MOO
