Yes I heard part of it.
I'm so glad that I finally managed to find some masks and that they arrived in time.
I have one in a plastic bag in my Aldi bag that I take everywhere with me.
And will wear them from now on, and I won't put them on in the store, I'll wear one when I leave the house and get rid of it as soon as I get back home.
Being careful to take it off the correct way and dispose of it, and then do the now usual handwashing.
I bet I'll get a lot of looks and sniggering and maybe some ignorant comments, but I'll feel less scared about going out, and possibly passing something I don't know I have to others.

Your Premier is holding a presser right now. She is 'strongly recommending' people wear mask

I'm now thinking about the reason my grandmother ripped my icecream cone away from me in a store before I got to the bottom bit that I had squished the icecream down into, my favourite part of eating it.
And that she always carried a supply of paper toilet seat covers to sit on.
My grandmother would have gone through the pandemic.
The icecream thing happened when I was about 14 and I remember thinking how could my grandmother do that to me and it was without warning, she just grabbed it out of my hand and threw it in the bin. I guess she was only concerned for my health.
When we got outside she said you don't know where that girl's hands have been and I stuck up for the girl and said she looks perfectly nice and clean to me.
Knowing how the pandemic is now I can now understand her acting like that. I forgive her :)

Devastating! 200 deaths is obviously far more devastating than 152,000. Anyone can see that.

Yes she did and this would have been in the sixties too so it seemed to me then that she was one of those people who thought there were germs everywhere.
I remember thinking what a fussy old thing she was.

STATE OF DISASTER declared for Victoria from 6pm tonight. This is a step up from the State of Emergency we have been in.

Melbourne going into Stage 4 lockdown. Six weeks at this stage.

Curfew from 8pm-5am except for going directly to/from work or providing/receiving urgent care.

Cannot go more than 5kms from home for shopping or exercise.

Only 1 person per household can go shopping.

One hour of exercise per day, no more than 2 people per household out together.

Industry announcements will come tomorrow (ie what exactly will shut down). Supermarkets, Pharmacies, Butchers, bakers, petrol stations will remain open. Cafes/Restaurants will remain open for takeaway/delivery.

Public transport limited.

More to come.

Melbourne placed under stage 4 lockdown, including 8pm curfew, as regional Victoria moved to stage 3 restrictions

I am not sure why restaurants are open for take away. Have we become a junk food eating society?

Well to be fair, it’s not all junk food. Melbourne is known as a foodie city and you can get pretty much anything delivered.

Early on, I also gave thought to the logic behind keeping restaurants open for take out. The reality is, if we close down restaurants, our food supply chains are not equipped to suddenly shift all of the food normally consumed outside the home to grocery stores for people to prepare food at home. You just think there were supply issues in grocery stores during the early days of the shut downs. Can you imagine if people couldn’t get food anywhere but the grocery store? That would be a hot mess really fast.

You also have to consider food availability for essential workers. Many health care workers are working 12-16 hours per day, daily, with perhaps one or two days off per month. When are they going to have time to shop for and prepare meals? Like it or not, they need to be able to order food delivery or take out to sustain themselves while working such insane schedules with no end in sight.

Just put in my Woolworths grocery order, will be interesting to see how much of it will actually arrive.
I think they've been doing an excellent job keeping up with the demand.
One time before I ordered it to be delivered days ahead to a suitable day which was a mistake because every day at least one item got taken off.
So this time I chose delivery for tomorrow.

What’s the deal when you have an old plastic container of dried out Lysol Wipes? Are they still good? Can you wet them again and expect the same potency? I’ve been wondering about that and been meaning to google.

I think it is a good idea to keep places open for takeaway. They have you order online or by phone, you wait for your order socially distanced outside, or do curbside pickup.
We want them open when lockdown is over ... no point in putting them out of business now. They may never recover to re-open. Many of them run on very small margins.

Pickup from your local places. Order a few extra meals and freeze them for later. Give them a helping hand.

Found these tips but they all suggest adding more sanitiser or rubbing alcohol.
Just adding water I think would dilute the sanitiser that's left on the wipes.
I make my own hand sanitised wipes using baby wipes which I saturate with hand sanitiser. I always go for the at least 70% alcohol sanitisers.

How do you revive dried out disinfectant wipes?
Tip. If disinfecting wipes have dried out, they can be revived by adding 70% isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol to the canister or package. Pour in the alcohol and close the container tightly. Allow the wipes to absorb the alcohol completely before using.

What’s the deal when you have an old plastic container of dried out Lysol Wipes? Are they still good? Can you wet them again and expect the same potency? I’ve been wondering about that and been meaning to google.
