Hmmm, “very moderate”...that certainly isn’t “mild disease”, unless that is what he really meant to say. As Dr. Maria always talks about, there is mild, moderate and severe disease.

Melania is mild, she has a slight cough and headache.

Trump is moderate, with a fever and fatigued, as what has been confirmed so far.

https://www.singlecare.com/blog/news/coronavirus-symptoms-and-incubation-period/

Moderate symptoms
  • Fever of about 101-102 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Chills, with repeated shaking
  • Deep cough
  • Fatigue and body aches
  • Muscle pain
  • General feeling of being unwell

I'm officially worried for our president. I will feel better if I can see him walk to the helicopter on his own......

Me, too. Jmo

BBM:

Ain’t that the truth!
ps, nice to see you both, @gitana1 and @Medstudies. I’ve thought about you both, hoping you are well. Gitana, I hope you have not been affected by the fire situation. I know the smoke has been awful (even here), and you have asthma.

It’s been crummy. Hard to exercise and my dog is unhappy. I’m still okay so far but every day brings new risks for me when it comes to COVID due to my work. It’s pretty much all work-related risk.

Yesterday I had a new client in and he came in with a mask (older guy) and promptly took it off. He then asked me after a while if I preferred he wear it. I said yes. He put it back on but it was a very ill-fitting cloth mask that he kept taking off or letting it fall below his nose. Air could easily escape.

So I had to wear a mask inside my office for the rest of the day, even after he left.

Stuff like that happens and scares me.

Biden speaks on pandemic after Trump diagnosis: 'This cannot be a partisan moment'

"We can get this pandemic under control so we can get our economy working for everyone," Biden said, speaking to press in Grand Rapids, Mich. "But this cannot be a partisan moment. It must be an American moment.”

IMO,
this (bbm) is a very mature and positive "call to action." It's also probably impossible at this point in the year 2020.

ABC didn’t show him boarding the helicopter.

Per the above braodcast, he will have an office set up to work there, and will also be undergoing various tests.

We saw a super speedy video of him walking to the chopper.

I don't see Trump willingly going to Walter Reed if he didn't feel it was necessary. Sending many thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.

He was in a suit.

I completely get what you are saying.

Even in countries with national health care - like mine, like UK, like Canada - the treatments are not necessarily all the same.
I am pretty sure the Queen would receive more fully encompassing treatment than an everyday citizen. She would be monitored closely, be attended immediately ... as would Scott Morrison, Boris Johnson, Justin Trudeau.

And there are always really fantastic doctors, and less well performing doctors, who treat patients differently.

The people at the top of the pile can pick and choose their fantastic doctors. The people at the bottom of the pile are attended by any skill range of doctors.

In a national health care system many of us also have private health insurance. Which allows us to have surgeries more quickly, pick and choose our doctors. Those of us who have private health insurance can avoid waiting lists for public health treatments.

IMO

Yes. And I’m not trying to derail the thread with a discussion about health care and what’s fair or poor me or anything like that.

I’m just worried, and frankly upset at the thought, that people will use the outcome for the president to support the belief that this is not a big deal.

And that’s a problem since his outcome is dictated in large part by care, including experimental and/or preventative, to which most people don’t have access.

Seeing video...walked out by himself, thumbs up, wave to press, salute to soldier, climbed stairs holding both railings, but looked steady.

Yes, I think it is a necessity also. He needs to be near the proper equipment should his condition go further south.

I would think that his condition is worsening, not staying stable, so going to Walter Reed is the smartest option at this time.

If his outcome is poor then I guess they will have to concede it is a big deal. Not death, just having oxygen like England's Prime Minister Boris Johnson who was touch and go.

Thankfully he survived.
