We keep hearing that various people like Pence/wife, Biden/wife, Pompeo, Kushner, Meadows, etc have tested negative. That means nothing, unless the tests have been given several days or more after exposure. It’s not a done deal and they all should be in quarantine now if they had any contact with Hicks and the Trumps or anyone else in their circle. I’m sure they are trying to reassure people, but I hope they aren’t complacent because they tested negative. They really can’t continue a regular schedule of meetings, etc.

And as @tresir2012 has pointed out regarding Boris Johnson, mild symptoms initially mean nothing. We’ve all read about plenty of people who had mild symptoms at home and a few hours later were fighting for their lives in ICU. I suspect this is what happened with Johnson. I certainly hope the President and First Lady continue to have mild symptoms, but this situation is still developing and anything can happen.

CNN's coverage of Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's nursing home controversy appears to be shifting after months of virtually ignoring the subject.

Cuomo has faced intense scrutiny over an order he made back in late March that forced nursing homes to accept patients who tested positive for coronavirus, despite testing deficiencies for both residents and staff

Cuomo raised eyebrows on Wednesday after he pushed back against the notion that COVID-related deaths in nursing homes were due to his policy.

Apparently, that statement was egregious enough for CNN to fact-check.

"Cuomo's assertion that 'it never happened' is false," the fact-check read. "According to a report from the New York State Department of Health, '6,326 COVID-positive residents were admitted to [nursing home] facilities' following Cuomo's mandate that nursing homes accept the readmission of Covid-positive patients from hospitals. Whether or not this was 'needed,' it did in fact happen."

No, I’m not one. I did not qualify for unemployment benefits since I was a contract employee. I was able to do a bit of consulting work the past two months so I did not apply for the one time pandemic compensation.
There is no extension once those 12 plus 13 weeks are up.

It’s worth pointing that that you would therefore not show up as either employed or unemployed in most cases. They go by W-2’s is my understanding, not 1099’s.

Average people who are hospitalised get them at present. There has been a lot of info and studies and posts about it. They are all part of clinical trials

That is only a very limited group of “average patients” as I keep posting. Clinical trials aren’t done at all in small town hospitals. Yes, Stanford University Hospital has anti-virals (galore) in clinical trials - patients can be assigned to groups (but they have to meet certain criteria).

Yes, UCLA’s main hospital also has many therapeutics at play (I’m in a clinical trial for something else after consenting to be placed in one and meeting the criteria). But again, you have to be part of a university hospital setting.

Locally, there’s a UCLA residential program (not too far from me) and *they* have antivirals, but most of their patients are not getting them, as the study that’s going on there is only for critically ill patients and for a particular set of other criteria.

The regular, widely available anti-virals do not seem to work (or at least not work on critical patients).

The hospital in my home town has zero of the new-fangled anti-virals, and I don’t think any of the doctors has even tried to join in a UCLA based trial because it takes months to get in and they are very busy. I know several of those doctors personally (they’re mostly older guys, they came back to their hometown to semi-retire).

Congestive Heart Failure has so many moving parts that can fail! Was he diagnosed with heart failure for a long time? There are so many tests that give doctors the information to diagnose CHF formally, and accurately. A BNP blood test is often done with regular blood panels that a primary care doctor has done. That is a measurement of the hormones in the ventricles of the heart. When those numbers are high, a doc will call for the Echocardiagram that will record the EF (Ejection Fraction). The EF numbers measure how much blood is pushed through the left ventricle. These numbers can stage and measure the amount of heart failure. In so many cases, these heart failure numbers can start out low, and so many people are in "watch wait medications" over time.

If your dad had had no real diagnosis of heart failure previously, they could have just done that echocardiagram and then instantly gave him that diagnosis.

And I know we have seen reports of the misdiagnoses when Covid is in the picture... Many doctors were just going with the main condition, only. Clearly this was the case in Florida, as has been discussed here a number of times.

IMO, when it gets to the stage that 'the news' consists of different news media outlets covering each other's coverage, it's time to turn to the sports section or something equally grounded in reality.

the study start date was Sept 18.

please be assured I am just offering observations... none of us, unless we are in the inner circle, or deep state, truly know if there are privileges and loop holes for the elite class.

I already edited my post after reading that they have 60 enrolled in the study, starting in July and have to be aged 18-45. Would be interesting to follow the study though.

Glad to see Biden and his wife have tested negative for coronavirus for now at least, however is it not quite irresponsible for him to imply a bit of victim blaming here? he aught to know himself there is NO PROOF WHATSOEVER that masks protect you against coronavirus, even those who take all the necessary precautions can still catch covid-19. I do hope he isn’t suggesting the 32million people worldwide that have caught coronavirus upto now haven’t been “careful enough”

Why would he fake it anyway? to get the stock market to drop? To have a break ? To get sympathay and el;ection coverage? I think he does really have it and I do hope it is mild, but are there many 70 year old males who only get it mildly?
