Our President is allowed to have indoor rallies, a fundraising event, held indoors at a Country Club in New Jersey.
New Jersey contact tracers "frustrated" with RNC information from Bedminster fundraiser - CBS News

Other political groups have been allowed to congregate. The Rabbi should state that he is holding a "fund raising event".

The article made a lot of comparisons to the United States and Germany, under Adolph Hitler. The issue is that the Jewish faith is not the only one targeted. That is where the article went a bit sideways. This is not "anti semitism". It is though, hypocrisy to allow political fund raising and arrest a rabbi for holding religious services in his yard.

Apparently they are blaming Cuomo according to the article though.

This rabbi has an issue in NJ and he's blaming Cuomo?

Most in opposition blame Cuomo ... for everything.

MOO!

As a personal aside, be careful about taking Sudafed and steroids at the same time. You will definitely be jumping out of your skin.

Fairview Heights Elementary temporarily closed due to COVID-19 | Richmond County Daily Journal

Because of a potential cluster of COVID-19 cases, Richmond County Schools announced on Monday afternoon that it would temporarily close Fairview Heights Elementary School at the end of the school day and transition all of the school’s face-to-face classes to remote learning for two weeks.

According to a spreadsheet updated daily by RCS, the school system has recorded 55 cases to date of COVID-19. Seventeen staff members, 29 students learning remotely, five students taking in-person classes and four central services staff members have tested positive for COVID-19. Six staff members at Fairview Heights have tested positive. A the same school, five students taking in-person classes and two students learning remotely have tested positive. Around the rest of the school system, the positive tests have included: one staff member and one in-person student at East Rockingham Elementary; two staff members at L.J. Bell Elementary; one in-person student at Mineral Springs Elementary; one staff member at Monroe Avenue Elementary; and one staff member at West Rockingham Elementary.

This is my hometown in NC although I don't live there anymore. Fairview Heights is an elementary school. How do we keep these kids quarantined? They will be out playing in the street......

Not necessarily. That sure isn't happening here or where my family lives (Hawaii - Big Island). No kids in the streets anywhere I go.

New York's leaders have not handled their relationships with the Orthodox community very well, at all, and so this is the outcome. IMO. Not sure what he expected. And the burning of masks is probably just a way to focus their anguish and frustration. We know that people have a hard time directing their anger, we saw it in the riots, with smashing and burning. Prayers for all people of faith everywhere as we navigate these difficult times.

From the news article:

Yeger is heard telling the men: 'We're going to be safe. We're going to be smart. We're going to wear masks.

'But we are not going to be deprived the right that we have in America, like everybody else in America, the right to observe our religion, the right to do it freely, the right to do it without government interference.'

'I don't care who in government thinks that they can stop us. They're wrong. Let them try,' Yeger added.

His administration's utter lack of coordination and communication with local officials has been an ongoing issue since the start of the pandemic and particularly recently as we face this uptick... What occurred today can only be described as a duplicitous bait-and-switch.'

The local leaders called it 'disgraceful' that Cuomo would impose restrictions 'targeting our community in the midst of our Jewish holidays'.

Zero excuses for looting/rioting, just as there are zero excuses for burning masks or not wearing them. Masks are important equipment and are definitely needed and should not be burned.

Whatever Yeger or any other spokesperson says about "being smart" - what they do, and whether they do it in masks, is what matters.

In Ohio, this wouldn't be necessary, the Governor recommends masks and social distancing at political rallies, protest events, and religious gatherings, but they are legal and he doesn't try to stop them, respecting the first amendment. Because they are exempt from the public health orders, the Governor and his staff hold regular meetings with faith community leaders and others in the community to keep communications open and encourage mitigating behaviors.

Ohio is probably where our President will hold his next rally. He will probably avoid states that have a ban in people congregating. Here, in Montana, they even banned Farmer's Markets.

And Ohio's numbers are not looking good at all. The governor and his proxies get mocked for mentioning masks. NY had to claw its way to a good place, and it is smart for us to make sure we stay there. Not all religious groups have a problem with masks. The ones that do need to be sanctioned for the sake of their neighbors who will get infected and spread it to other countries.

Unless we're cool with extending all that tolerance to more extreme religious practices, which I'm not.

No, in the article to which your post was responding.

I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm adding that JMO it's hypocrisy to afford some citizens first amendment rights during a pandemic, and deny others those same rights during the same pandemic. Covid is no respecter of persons. JMO

Daily average is around 700 deaths ATM which would be 21,000 a month if it stays at that. He must be anticipating an increase to at least 3,000 a day. That's terrible news.

3000 a day for fall and winter (the period of time mentioned by Fauci) would be about 540,000 deaths. There are about 182 days in those two seasons.

He seems to be predicting 1500-2000 deaths per day, though - which surely would be labeled a Second Wave by MSM (and most people).

Death rates should be at least a third lower (demographics), but hospitals would still be on overwhelm and states that are already struggling mightily (especially in the Northern interior states) would get a disproportionate share of cases.

So far, we're not seeing an early autumn uptick - but some states seem to have out of control CoVid this week, with the possibility for rapid exponential growth next week.

Wild card variables include the various reopenings. California is moving more counties to indoor dining, museums and some attractions opening, at reduced levels - but still. It remains to be seen if the reduced levels work but also...whether people obey the rules.

I do wonder if Fauci foresees mid-January to mid-March as an out-of-control nightmare of CoVid.

I agree. If people want to do those activities, let them. I have never been an advocate of "Nanny Style" governing. Other people, like me, are staying home. All about choice.

Currently trending above the 21 day average and the shift has been from the large metro areas to the rural counties over the last several weeks.

COLUMBUS (WCMH) – According to data provided by the Ohio Department of Health, central Ohio has all but disappeared from the state’s top 10 list for COVID-19 positivity rate.

“It is of interest just geographically, most of these, first of all, are rural counties and second, with a couple of exceptions, most of them are northwest, western part of the state,” Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said during his Tuesday coronavirus briefing.

It is hard to believe a trusted organization like the WHO has made so many jaw dropping statements- specifically involving masks and how the virus is transmitted -- they also initially said (get this) that they did not think the virus was transmitted from one human to another. SMH

Yes it was jaw dropping!

Once they came out with that early nonsense I've not once followed them since then, and don't plan on doing so in the future either.

Imo, WHO came across as a PR promoter for China!

They had to know it could be transmitted from human to human. Imo, they did know. If not, and just took the deceitful words from China then they are even more inept, and dangerous for all of the 180 plus countries affected.

I wouldn't rely on anything they have to say even now. WHO showed their true colors to the world from the very beginning. Imo.

Trump has no public events scheduled Wednesday

Trump remained out of sight for a second day Wednesday as he recovers from COVID-19, with the White House offering scant details about his health and activities.

Lashing out on Twitter, the president remains largely isolated in White House residence, where aides were instructed to take extensive precautions to prevent themselves from catching the coronavirus from the contagious president.

Trump's physicians have not provided a substantive update on his health since Monday afternoon, including his medications and potential long term health impacts from the virus.

Walsh: Boston ‘pausing’ school reopening plan as positive test rate continues to climb
More at link
BOSTON (WHDH) - Mayor Martin J. Walsh on Wednesday announced that Boston is “pausing” its phased-in approach to returning kids to the classroom this fall as positive coronavirus test rates continue to climb in the city.

“The citywide positive rate puts us just over the 4 percent threshold that we established for moving forward with our phased-in, hybrid learning plan for the Boston Public Schools,” Walsh said during a news conference at City Hall. “So we believe it is prudent at this time to pause the school reopening plan.”

It was not known how Adm. Charles W. Ray, the vice commandant of the Coast Guard, contracted the virus, but he attended an event for military families at the White House on Sept. 27. The Coast Guard said in a statement that Ray felt mild symptoms over the weekend and was tested on Monday.

First lady Melania Trump was isolating upstairs in the White House. On Tuesday, her office released a memo outlining extensive health and safety precautions that have been put in place in the executive residence, including adopting hospital-grade disinfection policies, encouraging “maximum teleworking” and installing additional sanitation and filtration systems. Residence staff in direct contact with the first family are tested daily and support staff are tested every 48 hours. And since the president and Mrs. Trump tested positive, staff have been wearing ”full PPE."

I don't know if you saw this. Regarding safety measures in the WH.
