I just heard a remarkable statistic on the news: Covid-19 is responsible for 80% of the deaths in this country in people over the age of 65--

Actually it's saying that people over age 65 make up 80% of all Covid deaths. Not that 80% of those over age 65 who died, did so as a result of Covid.

Yikes that's scaring me. My 30 year old son got his 2d shot 10 days ago. On the day after he got the shot he woke up with a pulse of 130. We tried to wait it out but took him to the ER couple days later. They sent him home on a Xanax and with hyrdoxine and told him to see a cardiologist which we will do tomorrow. His bloodwork was good, but now, in addition to the tachy (which has come down a bit to the low 100s)he has developed nausea. Worried about him...
I hope he is okay: Let us know what the doctor says: It does make one pause a bit at the thought of getting the 2nd shot (which I am due for in 14 days)-- I read that Moderna has 92 percent efficacy fourteen days after the first shot so my question would be, why do we need the 2nd shot????
