You’re welcome haha, wish we could have put another zero on the end!

I am rather worried for you guys, but while cases are rising they’re not rising as fast as elsewhere, so hopefully you can keep a lid on it.

We are rather worried, too. But as long as we can keep the death rate down, we will be doing the best that we can.

Thanks for your positive vibes. :)

I am hoping that NZ is catching themselves in time, with their lockdown that goes into effect tonight.

You know I am an Aussiephile (I’m sure there’s a proper word for it!) and as a rule my country is overwhelmingly fond of yours. Probably helps that we were raised on a daily dose of Neighbours :)

It is really good news-- we were all wondering if we would need a booster and at what point after our second shot--- I suppose this information will become official at some point soon!
U.S. plans to begin administering COVID-19 booster shots in September -
source

The Biden administration plans to begin administering COVID-19 booster shots to Americans as early as mid or late September, pending authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, a source familiar with the discussions told Reuters late on Monday.

U.S. to Advise Boosters for Most Americans 8 Months After Vaccination

Health officials in U.S. President Joe Biden's administration gathered round the view that most people should get a booster shot eight months after they completed their initial vaccination, the source said.

Officials are planning to announce the administration's decision as early as this week, with the first boosters likely to go to nursing home residents and health care workers, followed by other older people.

What is the difference between them?

Moderna VS Pfizer

Personally, I don’t much like the headlines about teenage boys being susceptible to heart problems post-Pfizer. My husband’s dad and brother both have dicky tickers.

Plus, I know plenty of people who’ve caught Covid after Pfizer or AZ, but none after Moderna (though this is skewed slightly by the fact far fewer Brits got Moderna)

US reports over 200,000 new cases in a day for 3rd time this month
There were 209,988 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in the United States on Monday, according to a real-time count kept by Johns Hopkins University.

It's the third time this month that the U.S. has reported more than 200,000 newly confirmed infections in a single day.

Amid new virus surge, Florida skeptics reconsider vaccines — ABC News

“The co-owner of the Westside Journal weekly newspaper used his voice as a columnist to widely share his doubts about the vaccine and his mistrust of the health experts in the U.S. who have been urging everyone to get it.

“I do not trust the Federal Government,” West wrote recently. “I do not trust Dr. Fauci, I do not trust the medical profession, nor the pharmaceutical giants.”

But something happened to change his mind: Two of West’s close friends became ill with the virus, and a third died. Rattled and stressed, he prayed for guidance. Then, when his mother and another relative both urged him to get vaccinated, he took it as a sign from God. West drove to the Winn Dixie supermarket and rolled up his sleeve for the first of two injections of the Moderna vaccine.

“All of a sudden, it hit real close to home,” he said.”

Yeah, hitting close to home hit a lot of people before vaccinations were available. Guess some need a big serving of reality. JMO

“Prior to this latest wave of the virus, Callahan Funeral Home had not handled arrangements for any COVID-19 victims since April. That has since changed. Owner Ellis McAninch said he's overseen funerals for five people who died from the virus since July — more than half his total business in the past month.

Despite his age, his proximity to virus deaths, a chronic lung illness, and his own recent bout with COVID-19, the 61-year-old McAninch had still not been vaccinated when he spoke to a reporter recently. He said at first he was wary of how quickly the shots were developed. But then he decided he had spent too long waiting to make up his mind.”

A funeral owner? And you’re organizing funerals, meeting with people, helping grieving families, inside your place of business, close contact, unmasked probably. Holy moley.

“Officials with Hillsborough County Public Schools said Monday morning that 5,599 students and 316 employees are in isolation or quarantine.

The school board said in a statement Monday it has called for an emergency meeting Wednesday afternoon to discuss the impact of Covid-19 and mitigation strategies including “mandatory face coverings for all students and staff.”

As of last Thursday, Hillsborough County Public Schools had received 27,915 opt-out
submissions, according to school district spokesperson Tanya Arja.”

What’s an opt-out submission, Mims?

Some people are taking an anti-parasitic to treat COVID. Here’s why that’s a bad idea

Oh dear: I would much rather take a drug used for horses than get a vaccine approved for humans!!!! ( I need a laugh emoji here)--- what is wrong with people? I keep asking the same question, because really, there is no answer, is there?
I just dosed my chickens with this and for the first time I'm not worried about foregoing their eggs for a full two weeks after treatment. But I would never just take ivermectin (also a top ingredient in heartworm prevention for dogs).
