Coronavirus Vaccine: Would you/did you get it?

I went for an outdoor walk with a friend this weekend - both masked and first-dosed vaxed. It was the first social outing I've had outside my bubble in over a year and I was absolutely GIDDY for hours and hours afterwards.

That makes me have a huge smile. Your experience reminds me of the mood at the first vaccination clinic when our most elderly seniors received their vaccinations. They too were giddy and beyond happy - almost dancing like calves released for the first time to the spring pasture. The place was buzzing from the release of pent up conversations. It was truly a wonderful experience.

I voted "No" when the poll was posted, not because it specified Pfizer vaccine but because it said "in the next 30 days". I wanted to speak with my primary care physician prior to getting vaccinated. I received both Pfizer shots last month.

Thing is, they can allergy test for a couple of ingredients in the vaccine, but there is no guarantee that just testing for those few ingredients is enough to determine if a person would be allergic to the vaccine when given in the arm. I can understand people being concerned, especially people with several kinds of allergies, but I went with statistics: Allergic reactions to the vaccine are rare.

We had an actual Easter and Passover family dinner. My 87 year old mom and my brother, both vaccinated, and my daughter, SIL and grandson. We have been around them frequently, but first time for a gathering that included GiGi, (great-grandmother to my grandson) for a sit down in home dinner.

Next weekend 3 sets of grandparents, daughter, SIL, son and DIL, and my 3 grandkids will be together to celebrate youngest grandson's 4th birthday. Just YAY!

*Everyone vaccinated by that time with at least one dose, most with both.

It’s afternoon now and the soreness has faded away. It’s good to know I’m fully vaccinated and I’ll be able to get out more in a few weeks.

Walgreens decided to wait four weeks between the first and second shots of Pfizer for convenience purposes- instead of three weeks, which is what Pfizer guidelines recommended: Walgreens is now going to follow US guidance of three weeks between injections. It is expected there is no harm in waiting an extra week between Pfizer shots, but since the trials were accomplished at an interval of three weeks, that is what Pfizer recommends: Walgreens will now adhere to the three week guideline between shots

So the health department in my small rural county just opened up slots for many more Covid vaccinations. I received my first Moderna shot on 4/1/2021. Little tiny prick and did not hurt at all. The next morning my arm muscle was a little sore when I moved my arm. Soreness gone by the day after.

The feeling of exhilaration is indescribable. I’m pretty sure the fact the dogwoods are blooming and the fields are yellow with blooms has some to do with it also. My heart feels so happy.

I would encourage anyone to “Just Do It” like Nike says. Insert smile here.

Our Walgeens pharmacy scheduled my husband's second Pfizer shot for three weeks to the day of his first shot. No problem at this Walgreen's in Ohio. His first shot was on February 8th.

The younger ones (daughter, son SIL, DIL) were able to get appointments either because of medical issues included on list, or due to NY opening up to anyone age 30 and above. My son and DIL just got first dose yesterday and daughter gets J & J this Wednesday. Grandkids not vaccinated so sorry if that was implied. They are not old enough, in any case, for the moment.

Type 2 diabetes is a qualifying issue but not type 1 (still trying to figure that one out...)

I told my pcp a month ago I was going to eat ice cream everyday so I could gain the weight needed to move from overweight to obese. I was half serious. He didn’t find that amusing.

Thursday: Pfizer vaccine, 2nd Dose intestinal cramps and diarrhea
Friday: fever, headache, stomach cramps, coughing, sneezing
Saturday: felt better during day, exhausted by night
Sunday: migraine
Monday: "Covid Arm", my left arm has a huge red rash, hot, and a large lump. Feeling fine, other than that.

My question is, if the vaccine hit me this hard, I shudder to think how Covid would have affected me...

That’s what I was thinking. Does our reaction to the shot tell us how we would react to COVID?

We are 4 days out from our first shot of Pfizer. Today my husband and I are both having feelings of anxiety with no real cause. Did anayone else have anxiety come out of nowhere as a side effect?

I think it’s common. Because subconsciously it’s like, “I finally got vaccinated. What if I get COVID before my immunity has kicked in?”

I was pretty paranoid that first week, about avoiding COVID.
