Court overturns father's grounding of 12-year-old

I hope the decision is reversed on appeal, and the Judge gets harshly censored. I also hope there is a way to penalize the lawyer as well. :behindbar

The justice was female, for what THAT'S worth. She obviously doesn't see anything wrong with improper pictures of a 12 yr girl on the internet!!!

He should sell all her stuff on ebay and make tons of money from it!

Well, maybe she let's her own daughter pose for internet pictures.........or, maybe she poses herself, which is why she sees nothing wrong with it.

What is up with that judge?? At 12 years old with her posting inappropriate pics ( child ) Im thankful her dad is trying to keep her away from it instead of the abuse we see on here from dad's.

Does anyone think there's something we haven't heard about this case? Sometimes the media doesn't get the whole story out right. It just seems so odd to me that a 12 yr old could sue over something like this in the first place.

Our now 17 (almost)YO when in middle school did not keep his grades up to par and we took a field trip away from him..
This had been made very clear... He knew the consequenses and his teacher and we had discussed and agreed at length ...

So the night before the field trip the teacher calls ... saying that the child had not been doing his homework... The teacher waited because he figured that if it was the night before that we would not take away the trip.
WRONG!!!! I guess the teacher was just soft.
What precedent does that set?
If I say "no field trip if this is not done" then I must follow through or I will be a living doormat for a teenager.

I have no idea what the heck is wrong with this judge!

And when this little snot later committs all kinds of felonies they are gonna want to blame the parents for not diciplining her. This just makes me so mad. They have no right to tell parents how to punish their children, its not like they were beating her which obviously she needs a good butt whoopin.

Good for you, Amra!! Sounds like something I would have done.

With my youngest, teachers and coaches tend to be soft on her and I hate that! Tell her the same thing you would a typical child!!! The disability coupled with her cuteness works for her that way until I clue them in. Actually the teachers figured it out within weeks, but the coaches...sheesh.

Yeah, AmandaBrown, I hope the same justice is over the brat when she's back in for other juvenile delinquency issues. The justice could have nipped that in the bud, but instead gave the girl a lot of power. I wonder where the mom is?

you know imho that is telling kids that parents dont have the right to disipline them .. yet parents are expected to take care of thier kids and be responsible for them .. but they cannot disipline them ? no wonder why some kids go around killing parents and others .. they are basically being taught hey we can do whatever we want and our parents have to pay the price for it . that is how im seeing it lately .when i was a kid id get a swift kick in the but id listen lol cuz i didnt want it again

Absolutely!
I don't like the government having the right or the power to tell a parent how to discipline their child. Especially if the parents are rendering punishment and not abusing the child. Sounds like big brother is watching. :doh:

The girl had been living with her father -- the parents are divorced -- and he forbade her to attend a school trip after she disobeyed his instructions to stay off the Internet.

I think someone should ground the parents for letting this custody battle go on for so long. COME on, 10 yrs? They've been fighting since she was 2? Do they have an age of consent there? Pretty soon she'll be able to say who she lives with if that's the case. There are 4 other children involved as well? (Or 3 and she's the fourth.) That's CRAZY.
