Court-TV to return to television after decade off air

But l... have you figured out what channel it will be? Here, it says it will be carried by Detroit channel WXYZ, but that is a local station that would be highly unlikely to change its programming so drastically. I am hoping Comcast picks it up here, too.

It's probably one of those weird channels that are offshoots of the main channel. Maybe if you reset your add a channel thingy on your remote you will see them.

Hmm...now I’m confused too.

I have Apple TV, but when I put my zip code in the Court TV link it says I may be able to pick it up on an obscure low power tv station owned by Elva and Moises Garza. LOLOL! I can’t stop laughing.

I have suspicions they run it from their basement, I’ve never heard of it.

I guess I’ll wait until its kick-off on the 8th and hope the Garza’s come through for me.

It does say free for Apple TV, maybe it will automatically be added to my lineup when it actually starts.

Maybe those without can finagle a way to watch it through the Court TV app?

The articles also said it would be live-streamed from their site. Maybe Vinnie will do another youtube video with an update.

Wouldn’t a Jussie Smollett trial of any kind be a gift? :p

Well, I contacted Comcast via the link dixigirl1035 posted above
["Comcast Care Chat:
Send Tom Feedback - Xfinity Support - Comcast Corporation
I would use this link. It's a place to send feed back to Tom Karinshak, who is the Executive Vice President of customer service." ]

They got back to me within a day, but they do not seem to know anything about what Court TV even is, and do not see it as something they plan to carry at this time.

So I may have to resort to watching it online. Bummer

For my fellow Detroiters, it is supposed to be broadcast on WXYZ channel 7.4. As of now WXYZ has 4 channels ABC (7) LAFF (7.3) BOUNCE (7.2) MYNET (20)
Bounce and Laff are considered sub channels on Comcast BOUNCE is 296 Laff is 322
so I am thinking Court tv will be up in those numbers. I am watching for info with bated breath so I will update when I hear...We should have a Court TV party

I contacted them again after I learned that they were carrying it in other areas but not mine. Thanks for bumping the link.

My cable provider is not listed, although a channel is listed that will carry it as OTA (over the air). Even though this channel is on my cable lineup, I am doubtful I will be able to get it on cable...we'll see.

I looked up OTA broadcasting and it says you need an antenna.
What Is Over-the-Air (OTA) TV? | CableTV.com

Just an FYI...where I noticed a cable provider as listed, it says it won't start until November.

I’d rather have wisdom teeth pulled w/o anesthesia if I had to choose between that & calling Direct TV.

Here is a list by states of every free channel that is supposed to carry the new Court TV

Here is Every Market Court TV Is Relaunching In As a Free OTA TV Network on May 8th 2019 - Cord Cutters News

For anyone in Michigan, the Detroit area is supposed to carry it via WXYZ. However, their affiliate Scripps network is WYMD, Channel 20 (which is on #3 in our lineup here). That may be the one to keep an eye on.
I’ve never heard of any of the channels for my state.

I received a response from my submission to the Vice President/Comcast at Send Tom Feedback - Xfinity Support - Comcast Corporation

"Re: Comments for Tom Karinshak

My name is C***a with the Office of Tom Karinshak and I will be addressing your concerns today. First, I would like to thank you for being part of the Comcast family over the last XX years! I understand that you would like Court TV added to your channel lineup. I know how important it is to have your favorite channel included in your channel lineup, and I apologize that we do not currently carry this channel.

With so many new channels being introduced from various programmers, and the diverse interests of our customers, we strive to provide a wide variety of quality services that will be of value to all of our customers. Each channel is chosen based on many factors, such as quality and diversity programming, Legal requirements, Federal regulations and restrictions, Carriage agreements with the programmer, and Customer feedback and requests. I have submitted a request to have Court TV added to the channel lineup. This is not a guarantee that this channel will be added in the near future, however, it is a request that will be used for tracking purposes of what our Customers would like to see.

Do you have any additional questions or concerns that I may be able to assist with? I appreciate your taking the time to reach out to us. Thank you for being a Comcast customer since 19XX! Your business is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Ci*** H.

Office of Tom Karinshak "

It looks like very few households will get the channel.
Outrageous! Lol
I’m sure I won’t be having it, I’ve searched & can’t find where Direct TV will carry it. Maybe down the road?
Idk why it was cancelled in the first place. It was the number one source to stay updated on criminal cases, imo.
When we had Jane Valez & NG, later Ashleigh we got updates. Now, we hardly get updates because there’s constantly new news.
