Courtney love loses custody again

  • #21
Looks like it's not as 'innocent' as Courtney relinquishing her rights. The judge issued a restraining order to keep Courtney Love away from her daughter, Frances Bean.

Yep - I was wrong. It looks like custody was definitely taken. Has she done anything weirder recently than usual? I mean she's always been pretty off the chain, so I have to wonder...why now? Maybe Frances started it. I wonder if Courtney is still clean.

Heh. I got a personal kick out of Courtney being turned down when she wanted the role of Nancy in Sid and Nancy.

Frances seems to be pretty well adjusted, but god knows HOW after living with Courtney.

LOL I know it's not funny, but could you have imagined the chaos when she got turned down? She rawked in that Larry Flynt film though. Sadly probably because it wasn't too far off than her real life.

Poor Nancy. Poor Sid. Poor Courtney. Poor Frances Bean.

SCM, I wonder as well if she's clean. The last pics of her out there she was looking bad. No doubt she's always had an illness and then self-medicated. I always doubted she was "just" a heroin addict because she was amped up alot. You'd think if it was dope alone the woman would be chill. That is until she got sick. I'm not condoning any drug use at all especially while parenting, but there's that "you're outta your freakin head" thing that always seemed underlying.

It seems children of addicts go either way and often to extremes. They're either way, way anti-drug/alcohol or turn out using to numb their own pain they dealt with. Not an excuse, but a reason.

Hey, no matter there's a young lady who lost her father and has a mom who at one point got it together. As for Courtney blaming Cobain's mom ain't that always the way? Mom's get all the blame.

Tom Grant is a California Licensed Private Investagator, and former detective with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Courtney Love hired him to 'find' Kurt just days before Kurt's body was dicovered. He now believes she only hired him to cover her own rear-end, as Kurt was likely already dead, and she knew it, and was responsible for it. He has a website dedicated to the case at www.cobaincase.com

Other interesting websites: www.justiceforkurt.com & www.deathofkurtcobain.com

Just one of several books regarding Kurts death: Who Killed Kurt Cobain? by Ian Halperin & Max Wallace.

These websites and books raise some important questions, such as how could Kurt have even raised a shotgun to his face and pulled the triger when he had 3x the lethal dose of heroin (morphine) in his system, and at the moment of injection would have become immediately incapacitated?

Many, many more questions and facts (such as testimony that Courtney tried to hire a man to kill Kurt before Kurt divorced her and she lost his fortune).

Handwriting analysis of his 'suicide' note- along with the piece of paper in Courtney's possession that showed her handwriting practice of the entire alphabet, obviously trying to mimic his writing from a different note he wrote.

If anyone is interested, it is really an intriguing subject.

Even after reading about that investigation (though it's been quite a while) and seeing the documentary, and as much as I dislike Courtney Love, I still don't think she had anything to do with it. As far as I know the only person that spread the rumor about the "hitman" she supposedly hired was El Duce himself (who claims she tried to hire him to kill Kurt, then later said he DID kill Kurt for her) but he is completely unreliable and is always trying to get in the news with his antics. When he died I don't think any big secret died with him, just his stupid antics and his "rape rock" band. He was disgusting, IMO.

Also I've seen documentaries where they interviewed people who said that an addict that used as often as Kurt would have had adequate tolerance to lift the gun. I'm just not sure how reliable Tom Grant is, either, and I don't know why Courtney would have hired him, a former police officer, as a PI if she had anything to do with his death.

But hey, I guess you never know.

Can't say I'd put it past her.

Didn't they end up giving her another small part in that film? I could have sworn she was in it. And she played Madonna in the film Basquiat... (One of my favorite movies, and definitely my favorite artist!)

I listed to Hole when I was a littlebabycat, but I was never a big fan of Courtney... IMO, she just rode Kurt's train...I once read that he supposedly wrote some of her songs on "Live Through This". I wonder if that's true.

I feel really bad for Frances. I'm willing to bet she was the parent in that relationship. I hope she goes on and does something great with her life!

Yes - she had a small part in Sid & Nancy and I liked her in Basquait too. She was Academy Award-worthy in The People vs. Larry Flynn and, IMHO, after that film was the most she had it together for a while. She was dating Ed Norton, looking and acting glamorous as opposed to insane....just, she really seemed to be doing well. That didn't last.

I don't believe she killed Cobain and I don't believe Cobain (or anyone else) wrote most of her stuff. I've heard those rumors and am satisfied that they're just rumors. That said, as babycat points out, it's hard to put anything past her, so you're always left with a little doubt when you "decide" anything about Courtney.

By crackey you are right, Babycat. I didn't even notice she was in Sid And Nancy. When Gary Oldman is performing I pay most mind to him. He's one of my fave actors.

Now, was he in Basquait as well? I didn't see that. Filly only sees movies not films. LOL I'm kidding.

One of my fave lines from Sid And Nancy is when she says "What about the farewell drugs?" Can't get more real than that. There's also one I've used forever now if someone tosses something to me I say "Ya almost knocked me bloody eye out". I skip the curse. It was in the part of the film the first night the doomed lovers meet and they're squatting along with others all trying to sleep and someone throws a phone book or such to shut up Sid.

In the scheme of all this I feel bad even discussing it because there's a 17 year old out there in this world suffering. I'm wondering if she couldn't get amancipated? Then again that would just screw herself over the poor kid.

SCM, I liked her as well in as I call it "That Larry Flynt" movie.

I'm glad you brought that Tom Grant up, smart blonde, because I saw that movie and couldnt remember the name since it was a number of years ago, in fact not too long after cobain died.

IIRC, he interviewed C.Love's father for quite a bit during the movie, and her own father seemed to have reservations about his own daughter's drug use, possible personality disorders, and even possible connection to Kurt's death.

Courtney has put that child through hell... one of the most bizarre and truly disturbing happenings was when Francis Bean witnessed Courtney ODing back in 2003, resulting in Courtney losing her to the Cobain family, for a while. Courtney made light of FB witnessing the incident, by saying something about how she made the situation into a game for FB while they waited on the ambulance. How crazy is that...

Courtney has hinted at her relationship with FB as one of: FB is very conservative and is the mother in their relationship, while Courtney is the child. (good lord, can you imagine trying to cope with Courtney Love?!?!?!)

I think this video that TMZ shot of her says volumes... she's not your typical flighty 17 yr old...

That was my problem with the murder theory (or at least that bit of it). He did a lot of drugs for a good handful of years - I'm pretty sure his tolerance was beyond the norm.

I love a good conspiracy theory, and I bought the book and read it, but in the end I don't think she did it. I think he really was suicidal and I don't think she was smart enough to kill someone and get away with it.

Also, how the hell did Kurt and Courtney's little bugeyed baby get to be seventeen??? HOW OLD AM I, PEOPLE?!?!?! :boohoo:

I've always wondered if Courtney has some sort of mental illness - I'm NO expert, but bipolar comes to mind. She is an addict and many addicts begin using to fix their mental/emotional problems. Dual diagnosis of addicts is very common.

So if Frances has some of this over-the-top stuff going on, it could be inherited. FWIW, the little I have seen on the press about Frances has shown a pretty positive, fairly well-balanced kid. I had never heard she was given to outbursts.

In any event, I too have been fascinated with Courtney since I discovered Hole many years ago. I am an unapologetic fan of hers, but I am not in denial that she is one hot crazy mess. I hope they all can work this out.

ITA- I have always thought she may have Bipolar. I know Kurt did.

I have a soft spot for Courtney and pray that if she relapsed she will quickly realize she can't go on living that way and seek help. She's funny as he!!.. did you see her on the Pamela Anderson roast?

(snipped for space) I agree, but that birthday party she threw the year before was also a "suicide" themed party and she wore the dress that her father once wore...

I admit, I couldn't really makes heads or tails of that. But I guess compared to Courtney, that IS still conservative. It's all relative, I guess;)

o/t Oldman was in Basquiat briefly, he played a character modeled after artist Julian Schnabel (Julian Schnabel directed the movie!). Also has David Bowie playing Andy Warhol, and he did an awesome job! But my veryveryvery favorite- Benecio del Toro steals the movie, to me;) Lots of stars are in it, though.

I think you would love that movie. It is definitely one of my top choices:) But then, that might be because Basquiat is one of my favorite artists. It's beautiful/tragic and definitely has some great music. Everything from charlie parker to iggy pop to tom waits. Also has a bit of comic relief.

sorry for the o/t

She was funny on that. And I have high hopes for her, too. I don't like to see anyone slip like she did...she was doing so well for a time. I hope she can get her life together. I think she does have some good intentions, but an addict is an addict...it's like it completely takes over a person, and they are a shell of who they really are:(

Here's a really good documentary from a few years ago when she was getting sober and had regained custody of Frances.
