Have you ever knit with ribbon? It's gorgeous.

No, I'm not a knitter. My aunt Andy taught me years ago. In 2018 she taught me to knit fingerless hand warmers which I was going to make for my friends who work in offices. The A/C blows down on the tops of their hands and they are cold. She even gave me some of my maternal grandmother's knitting needles. However, I just can't seem to stick with it. It's also hard to find a need for sweaters and such here in SWFL. Yarn collects dust too so it's not my favorite medium.

Have you made the paper ornaments? I wonder if I can do some in metal... but they may mess up on folding/ bending. I used to make glass balls ( bought balls and decorated them) but too fragile to put up with a cat around.

This one I did as part of our adult craft bags. It's very pretty. But I do 5 points with card stock because regular paper gets droopy. I also staple, not tape.

This is the December grab bag for kids. I'm looking to January now. Considering mitten cut-outs to be decorated and hung on twine like a garland with mini clothes pins. Not sure about the adults yet.

I wanted to be sure every kid had everything they need so we bought little bottles to fill with glue for those who don't have this at home. As this will be a monthly thing, we're asking them to hold onto the bottles and bring them back in for refills if needed.

ETA - these are holiday cards to make.

when you do have glue at home, sometimes it is just all dried out when you need it !

But look, it probably depends on the size you make. I use 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch sheets, which get heavy by the time you have 5 sections together. So if you were making them smaller, perhaps scrapbook paper would work.

we used to make a printing block out of a potato- an adult could help a smaller child cut a pattern. You can do an initial, a shape, or something more elaborate like a little Christmas tree, a hat, a mitten, flower, car, airplane(!) whatever. You cut the potato in half and carve on the "face" of it- ink or dip the potato surface and print- repeat print to make a gift wrap or print on cards. If kids have never block printed, it is fun. Then you can wash and use different colors - overlap to make different colors and patterns.
Then draw on them too if you want to add details.

You can also cut a sponge to print, if you'd rather not use foods. Look around the house, a potato masker, spatulas, the top or bottom of a glass or a soda bottle can all be printing tools.

I keep forgetting to get a picture of the clothes pin wreath I did. I have left it at work. Everyone agrees it should be a spring project (for adults). I have our January kid craft figured out, so now I need to come up with the adult one. Unless any of you have a better idea, I'm thinking about the Dalia wreath made out of book pages for the January adult project. What do you think? (Screenshot off of pinterest.)

That is unique. Is it sturdy enough to glue things to? Like decos for spring, birds, flowers?
