We all bring our own experiences to the table as we listened to the trial evidence and to some extent our own experiences in life help drive how we interpret things.
I'm in the shot first camp and have been for a very long time. I can list some of the reasons how I got to where I am at.
One of the reasons is I can relate to a jammed gun because like I mentioned before, it has happened to me on many occasions. I have a .22 semi-automatic that jams every time unless I use a certain type of ammunition. Once I get this certain type, it works fine. So I think its very possible Jodi intended to shoot him dead in the shower and would have kept on shooting had her gun not jammed. So I tend to believe her gun jammed after that 1st shot and she threw the gun to the floor and ran backwards some since she no longer had the advantage without her weapon.
The 2nd thing I can relate to.
I actually have the same type of gun JA used. I have a small .25 and so I know the type of shell it uses which is very small. Not much bigger than a .22 It is a small caliber round and not very powerful as compared to larger guns.
So with my experiences, I can easily see where that small round may not have dropped Travis to the point where he could not get up. Especially if the round only just glanced the brain area.
And I have heard of many real life stories of people taking severe shots to various portions of their body and still able to walk at least for a little bit. One burglar was shot 5 times and he still kept going. Placement of that shot is just too much of a question as to whether it would have dropped him and so that is one thing I take into consideration.
And I know this is a silly example but it brings up a good point that living beings can still function sometimes with extreme injuries.

The 3rd thing
is just trying to understand what happened before the sink, and I can just envision Travis being shot and getting to the sink area to investigate his injury. When people get shot, they sometimes have a tough time understanding where they got shot. Travis may have been in somewhat shock and managed to get to the sink so he could identify where the wound was so he could help himself. Where if it was a knife wound first, I think Travis would not have been as likely to investigate the wound in the mirror. With a knife wound first, I think he would have known exactly where the wound was and in JMO he would not have needed to go to the mirror and would have just grabbed for a towel or something else to stop the bleeding.
These are just 3 things that are all JMO and just wanted to share them to show how my own personal experiences come into play with how I interpreted the evidence presented.
I think we all bring things to the table and this helps explain how we all can have differing views on something like this, when the evidence was not solid enough to know for sure one way or the other.
