Crime Scene Photos #3 ***WARNING - GRAPHIC DISCUSSION***

This is the skull. There's a leaf over the right eye.

I've gotta tell you, that looks nothing like a skull to me. There are ridges and lumps where none should be, the "nose" looks all wrong, and I can't see any hair. What you call duct tape could be duct tape, but it could be any of dozens of things.

I just don't see what you are seeing.

OK, I guess I will have to study the diagrams re: placement of the skull at the scene, but for now I'm in the "log" camp, with a nod to the "skull" camp to acknowledge that the end of this particular log looks a heck of a lot like a skull. ;)

Something else occurred to me: why is the "skull" dark gray if, indeed, it is a skull? I thought it would be white--and I thought RK said it was white.

Mr. Kronk said he saw a round white something in August. Although that could mean he saw the skull at that time, he wasn't close enough to identify it.

In this case, Caylee's body would have been bagged and left on top of the ground, have spent some time underwater, and I'm not sure what shade of ivory/brown it should be.

This would be the first black skull I've ever seen, if I were seeing it!

If you turn the pictured skull 2/3 of a qtr of a pie further looking to it's left is how the skull sits on the ground. We are viewing the right eye. The skull has a branch sweeping across it's forehead.

OK, y'all both agree you are seeing a skull. But one of you sees the left eye orbit with the right orbit covered by a leaf, and the other sees the right eye orbit exposed? It doesn't sound to me like y'all are interpreting whatever you are seeing, be it the skull or not, the same way.

Since WSers are so good about figuring out what stuff is, anyone have any idea what this fabric could be?

The style is sort of old-man hankerchief isn't it? It's terribly soiled and they took 3 pics of it.

It appears to be the zippered cover of a small throw pillow to me. In one of the "previous" photos you can see what appears to be a zippered edge, some pulled threads, and what looks like a different colored bottom side.

Immediately after seeing this thing, Kronk told his coworkers that it was a skull.

"Hey guys. I see a skull in here." Kronk Aug 11.

Are you sure that quote is from AUGUST? I thought that was from the day he nudged the bag with his foot and the skull fell out.

Asking those of you who have covered a trial closely before - Will we websleuthers get to know the answers to our questions eventually? Does the truth usually come out or the reporting of the facts?

Will we get to :p:p:p:p right or wrong some day? Ha!

Where does it say he nudged the bag with his foot? (please go to metal rod thread).

It took me a bit before I could see it also. At first I thought it was a bigger part in the photo. Maybe this can help. It is sad for me to type this but the skull looks sort of like a doll's head (face).

The skull's right eye orbit which is on viewer's left. The skull is looking to it's left. Gee I'm challenged!

Hope Hot Dogs doesn't mind me chiming in here. We are going over this in the metal rod thread. That is a recount of the dialogue between RK and his co-workers back in August. It's in the Docs released 2/18.

The red circle is where I see what looks like a skull ... but I see the duct tape across the mouth area better than the skull .....

At 10 o'clock your circle goes right through the skull's right orbit (eye).
You cannot see the left eye because the skull is facing profile (not quite).

I followed the Louisiana Serial Killer case very closely. I knew one of the police officers involved, and I had a dear friend who worked (at that time) at the crime lab where the DNA was processed. Some of the same 'sleuths' I interacted with then---on the old Court TV forum---are here now. (Howdy, friends!) We were so blessed to have two of the victims' mothers with us. What a tower of strength and faith those women are! We had a forensic dna expert posting with us, and she really educated us. So some of our answers came before the trial, while the case was ongoing.

But to answer your question: Yes, we will learn the answer to some questions. Others we will never know. We did learn that some of what had been reported as fact was misinformation, either accidentally or intentionally "leaked" to the public.

And some of us are already getting the ":p:p:p:p right or wrong" LOL! I was wrong about something I believed LP said (he said no such thing and I swore up and down I heard him say it! but I was mistaken.) And others here have discovered the book was a sign.....I imagine none of us are 100% right!
