Alittle O/T but love your avatar! Makes me wish Heath Ledger was here to play KC and say about CA "Why is she crying?"

Sorry I didn't see this before. I posted the same info in another thread about the Bechler case and Dr. Baden.

I wouldn't be so sure we won't see Dr. Baden in this case on the defense side before it's over, unless they have learned from the Spector case how bad it appears. I don't think it will stop him that he has been all over the place on tv taking a contrary position. It's interesting that LKB and Dr. B did not return for Spector II, although the rest of the team of experts appears to have done so (Di Maio, Spitz).

Well if their forte is to perform last minute forensic surprises during trial then once produced -- that cat is out of the bag. They'd have to come up with another new stunt and it wouldn't be seen as credible to use the same "Aha!" moment excuse.

A few years ago, two men were fistfighting at night on a street in my city.
The one man hit the other man with his fist, causing him to fall and hit his head on the concrete and he died.

The case eventually went to trial and I followed it in the paper thinking, "Of course the man who hit the other man will be found guilty".

Then the defense called in Dr. Baden. He convinced the jury that the man did not die because of the punch, but he died because he hit his head on the concrete. The jury brought in a not guilty plea.

Ever since then, I cannot stand it when Dr. Baden is on TV. I think the jury was "star struck" and there was no justice for the man who died.

In my opinion, most of these talking heads will say whatever they are paid to say.

That does seem crazy.

To me that's like saying a DUI victim didn't die from getting hit by a drunk driver while crossing a road, they died by failing to get out of the way.

It is painful to listen to her speak. I think she manages to aggravate people all over the country! As a Northerner living in the South, I can attest to that!

She want to "educate" the judge, the jury, the prosecutors, etc., etc.... problem is, she speaks so fast and loud, a lot of what she says goes in one ear and out the other.

Another Northerner living in the South totally agrees.

Does anyone else wonder if the 17 hairs are going to be from a live Caylee, minus the death band? Somehow I'm reminded of Cindy witholding Caylee's brush. Remember how interested John A was in the meeting that LKB, Baez, and the PI's had at the Anthony's house?

I would expect that a LOT of hairs found in the car would be from the A family, Caylee and maybe even GA after his last maint/detailing.

It depends if these were primarily from the trash, since IIRC a trash bag was dumped in there from TL's apartment.

That's an issue because they could be used to implicate TL if they can find other connections to him, since he was with KC at that period of time.

I firmly believe that while the motion hearing provided insight into the Defense strategy AND it didn't seem to go in the Defense favor -- be wary.

I think the Defense is just starting to build a foundation of reasonable doubt and SODDI and this was a win since they brought in the 17 hairs, that HL found not all evidence was collected and, it did get media coverage.

As these motions roll I think in isolation they will seem nothing but the Defense is on a march to establish a foundation for the trial where they will tie this into some theories that throw a former boyfriend or A family member under the bus.

I would imagine they are going to focus on the lack of direct evidence that proves KC killed Caylee, unless it surfaces in subsequent discovery and -- pin it on others while having the 'accident' theory in reserve.

My gut is that SA have something in reserve though, KC cannot be this lucky that there is nothing conclusive. The clock may be wound down with the Defense developing theories that are not viable as other evidence emerges.

LKB
Associate of LKB --- Dr. Werner Spitz
Both on Phil Spector Case (will move to another thread if need to)
Since they have worked together before I think info about him might give insight into what State is up against.

Dr. Werner Spitz made 5000.00 a day on the Phil Spector Case, testifying
for the Defense.

(quoted from article)

"I came to the conclusion that my opinion as rendered was correct," he said. "... I would not say she committed suicide. I would say she shot herself."

Before he concluded his examination of Spitz, Jackson reminded jurors
of a witness's claim that in the 1990s, Spector made a profanity-laced
rant about how all women deserved a bullet in the head.
"Did you consider that?" Jackson asked.
"I took note of it," Spitz said. "But I found very little relevance to events 10 years later."
"Dr. Spitz, Lana Clarkson died of a bullet in her head, didn't she?" Jackson asked.
"Yes," Spitz said.

I found something that sounds like something we have heard before.

(quoted from article and bolded by me)
Kenney-Baden had one task: not to prove innocent, but to prove reasonable doubt. Employing a similar PowerPoint technique as the prosecution, Kenney-Baden started off her argument with a focus on science.
It is science, and only science, that could convict Spector in this case, and in this case, science “proves” Lana Clarkson took her own life at Spector’s castle.

I wonder if the A's were contacted by LKB and associates at the beginning of this - given all the publicity from Day One?

LKB, Dr. Lee and Dr. Spitz worked for defense at Phil Spector's first trial. All are now on KC's team.
Isn't that something...I wonder, if they do testify at Casey's trial, if the state will be able to bring in their testimony in the Spector trial ?

From what I've read about dr Lee finding the hairs. A lot came from inside the bag, I hope they took hair samples of all the people in TL's apartment.

Chances are a lot came from visitors to his apartment.

Just reading over some of the articles linked here about the Spector trial and it makes me absolutely SICK that these paid for "experts" would get on the stand and provide this kind of misleading testimony, all because of money. I guess I am naive as to some of these tactics used in trials, but it's sickening and scary when I think about this happening in Casey's trial.

If they make a statement contrary to something they have previously stated, that previous statement can be introduced for impeachment purposes.

I'm betting that SA will bring to the attention of the jurors the fact that Dr L was found to have removed evidence that may have proved detrimental to the defense case in the Phil S trial.

When Dr L testified in the Michael Peterson trial and spit tomato juice onto a white cardboard and out and out lied...imo, about how the spatter around the victim was from her mouth....well... that was the end for me. I'm convinced that he lacks credibility and will say anything for the right amount of money ...imo

Sure seems to be a lot of crooks in a courtroom.

Just like the gubmint!:twocents:

Not sure if this woman has been discussed much here, but I came across this vid this morning.
http://www.orlandosentinel.com/video/?autoStart=true&topVideoCatNo=default&clipId=3541342

Boy, she sure seems pushy . She might get somewhere with that personality in New York but Orlando is closer to Mayberry RFD, lol.
She even said the judge needs to be educated on the law!

I'll bet KC really likes her cause she's tough but IMO, LKB will agitate the good ol' jurors bigtime. You think?

WOW, she's very intimidating. She really stuck it to Kathy Belich. I hope the jury can't stand her, I know I can't! :D

if this is ever made into a movie I think Al Pacino should play LKB

I think the muppets would be better...

LKB=Miss Piggy
JB=Kermit

I used to be an avid Fox News Natonal watcher. I tuned in Greta every night. She has a lot of talent and knows how to get the answers in subtle way. I also had a lot of respect for Dr. Baden when he would appear on Greta's show. But then Fox went over board with all the politics. However, I did watched the Spector trial and she was a complete turnoff. Hopefully, eventually there will be justice in that case. Maybe her approach works in well in California, but I don't think that it necessary does here. Not only that but what makes a person from California come into Florida and act like a know it all? Please, she is going to educate? She makes it sound if though Florida forensic scentist are not educated. I would think that this could be taken as an insult. No, she won't do well down here. Not with the prosecutors, not with LE and certainly not with the jury. IMO
I agree with you 100%

I think she TRIES to be intimidating...and that's why JB has hired her. She is what he is not. She "has" what he "lacks." He also will defer to her. I saw him do that a couple of days ago with news reporters and he stood back watching her with a slight grin. It's all a game with her. Someone needs to show her that she's not all that "hot-shot" and intimidating...and I hope it happens during trial on TV where we all can see. People like her do not impress me at all, nor do they scare me either.
