In reference to the Geraldo video: I just rewatched it for the millionth time and I realized that while I was so transfixed on Crystal and Marie in this video I never watched the man in the camouflage in the back. Is this Johnny? Is this Crystal's dad?

Not Once did he look at the camera. Not once did he look at Crystal or Geraldo, in fact he is the only one in the entire shot to never look at the camera or interviewer. He definitely looks disinterested. I have been a strong advocate for both Crystal and Ronald, in my heart I believe Haleigh was abducted from her home and is no longer alive, but if I am being honest I must say this interview is strange when you view it solely with the man in camo as the subject.

I think RC is in love with Crystal and always will be.

Honestly Whisperer, I believe both of their reluctances at first to accuse the other one showed that there is/was some real "feelings" there on both parts. Without the outside interferences I believe these two people would have had a better chance to forge a positive relationship for their children. Pre Haleigh missing and Post Haleigh missing. IMO

Could drinking and/or drugs play a part in any abuse Crystal talks about? I can see where if they were doing drugs/drinking, got mouthy with each other, even leading to a shoving match, but when totally sober none of this went on at all being confused as to whether it was abuse or not. If I had to judge a relationship I was in where if we engaged in drugs/drinking we fought, sober we didn't I don't think I could call it abusive, but if the partner came in after drugging/drinking while I was home sober and keeping the kids I would think it was. Never having been abused have I just fell in to the trap of "it's my fault?"? But then again we have to take responsibility for our own bad actions too.

In forming my opinions I take it as a given that both parents did drugs at some point/points in their life. So for me it becomes a question of their behavior in the years following the last proven drug use.

I have never heard about a date rape drug. I just relooked at the court records and didn't see it either. Can you please provide me with a link for that, or at least the timeframe, or where you saw it. Thanks!

I addressed my opinion on the GR interview where RC said "No" to "do you use drugs" in the RC thread.

Here is this for reference to the GHB / Date Rape Drug. I do not have the link to the actual court record at this time. I will add it later tonight trying to get to the lake w/ the kids. :angel:

I think that your scenerio is a possible one, especially if someone is whispering in your ear, urging you on, toward a road that you may not have wanted to go down.

Crystal was evidently around drugs long before she got with Ronald. Her mom was busted for running a drug dwelling. So it could very well be that Crystal was the one who introduced Ronald to the drug culture.

OK...if you Google the question...it pops up on a site I don't want to mention here (it is in a comment about 3/4 of the way down the page). It explains the Identity Theft situation somewhat. I still do not see where the funds ever made it to Ronald tho. The claims are there it did, but it is not what is reflected on the court docs.

Looks like there is a comfirmation of social security being received also. Wow! Seems like a constant flow of money. So he works and gets SS. I imagine he got that one for Haleigh. Any idea on other government assistance?

Why was Jacksonville address given for Crystal for notice of the court hearing? If RC wanted to make certain she received the notice for court, he would have sent it to her mother...

Good move...to send it there if you didn't want her to show, or by the time it is forwarded, there isn't much time for preparation. Seen this done many times when people want to pull a fast one.

BBM I think this is talking about the petitioner (ROn) submitting HIS social security info.

As far as Haleigh getting a check, it would NOT be referred to as Social Security. That would be SSI (supplimental security income) which is given to those who have a disability..

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a Federal income supplement program funded by general tax revenues (not Social Security taxes):

~It is designed to help aged, blind, and disabled people, who have little or no income; and
~It provides cash to meet basic needs for food, clothing, and shelter.

I thought about your post when I saw this quote today where CS said "it bothered her" that the Cummings felt bad about the GR interview. Kinda interesting it would "bother" her:

Speaking briefly to the press on Wednesday, Crystal Sheffield said she believed her two children with Cummings - Haleigh and Ronald Jr. - would have been safer with her. But she said that was because, as a mother, she always wanted her children with her.

I think it's interesting she pointedly wanted to qualify why she would have liked to have custody in the beginning... and it wasn't because of abuse. Taken in conjunction with my post above I don't think she was afraid of Cummings I think she cared what the family thought about her at that point.

The SS notation has nothing to do with social security payments it has to do with his SS#. In addition, you can't send notice of hearing to someone other than the person who is to appear. However if you will review the custody documents Crystal responded to the original petition, she knew there was a court action taking place, if she moved between being originally served and responding then it was her responsibility to notify the court. I think if you research the names on the court document you will understand the Jacksonville address JMO.
