From the story comment section ....

jackson pollack Says:
December 7th, 2006 at 5:47 pm A friend of mine was in his lab as a phd student, and she left. She told me that Schlessinger regularly harrassed the women in his department, and the women had to take it because this is the kind of guy who could AND WOULD break your career if you filed a complaint against him. Schlessinger is a really big name professor (that’s why he was brought to Yale), and I’d be really surprised if any of the women students/post-docs/professors would say anything agaist him…. sure a secratary, or a lab tech would, but that’s differnt.

Purely emotional response, but I can't imagine the utterly tragic feeling of having to keep up with updates during a time where your reception should have occurred. Her fiance must be absolutely beside himself. I can't imagine this kind of ongoing mental trauma.

So maybe when Bennett contacted Schelsinger to say Annie had not shown up -- he (Shclesinger) was the one who canceled the class. Anton Bennett is squeaky clean. Not so much for Sclesinger. I am not in any way saying he is involved in Annie's disappearaence.

I think in this case there are too many LE agencies involved, meaning campus police ~ probably not wanting to set off any alerts to the students of a potential predator on campus. I think whoever did this knew it would be hours before anyone was alerted to Annie being missing and had plenty of time to clean up and/or dispose of her body. MOO

I think so too Panthera, If she was assaulted and died say in that stairwell on her way down to the basement, she could have been hidden temoporarily whlle the perp formulated a plan to get her out of the bldg. The fire alarm was sat off around 1pm which might have been the time he somehow took heer body out of Amistad.

Evidently if the police are looking in the incineration center for her remains they have a good idea the body was removed from that bldg. We just don't know what led them to that conclusion.

The first thing I read about the incinerator search this morning is that is was based on a tip they had received. Then the story quickly changed as is to be expected.

Me neither. Just trying to feel out the uni's lab culture. Somewhat intense, with all sorts of creative, interesting, brilliant and flawed characters. As expected

In 2006, a sexual harassment lawsuit was initiated against Yale University by Joseph Schlessinger's former secretary, Mary Beth Garceau. Garceau alleged numerous episodes of harassment by Joseph Schlessinger during her employment at Yale, [21],[22],[23],[24]. and claimed that Yale University failed to act upon her frequent complaints, thus causing Garceau to resign. The case was settled out of court in mid-2007, and the terms of the settlement were not publicly disclosed.

Not saying he is involved either, but if he is, Yale is gonna be in BIG trouble on this one. After reading the lawsuit and a few articles MY GOSH! Why does he still have his position?!! We did see him getting into the cop car (I know, means nothing at this point, just sayin).

They've had dogs in there and a couple of possibilities are 1) dogs didn't pick up any scent of her body still there and/or 2) the dogs alerted to a trash container, leading LE to believe that is how her body was removed. MOO

Be sure to read the whole wiki article.
The man is single-handedly responsible for millions and millions (likely hundreds of millions) of dollars worth of NIH research funding and Pharmaceutical Company funding, etc. He's also lost money for ImClone too. He's going nowhere. And his secretary got a settlement.

And I thought it was the DA getting into the cop car? Am I mixed up there? Could be. So much to read!

As to searching the trash plant - well, if they've fully searched the building, and are at least relatively certain none of the cameras saw her walking out -- sorry to say, that''s the most logical place to look.

What I'm seeing are a few possibilities who the perp might be, such as someone who could've been interested in her and was rebuffed (especially with the timing of her wedding being a few days away), someone who resented a Vietnamese woman being so high up in the Ivy League school, or someone who was stalking her and related to a previous incident which led to her article on safety. MOO
