Yep. The suspect list is now down to one and he is currently being questioned. That is why it is a "random act".

What did I miss, never would I have thought this was a random act. Where did this come from? TIA

News saying no one in danger. I believe since someone is in custody that they are simply waiting for something before they file charges.
There's a good possibility they have the attack on film.

they keep saying suspect and usually they will say he occasionally or he hasn't been formally charged or something, I wonder if it could be a female student?

The most interesting thing about this report is that its source can't state categorically that Annie and her assailant knew each other. He or she seems to know other details (the polygraph; "not at large"), but doesn't identify the suspect as someone in Annie's school or social circles.

I'm hearing that they had a relationship. That can mean so many things.

I'm thinking I better have my BP checked after all the salt I've consumed today.
no 🤬🤬🤬🤬 Q! Seriously... the media reports are just mind boggling not to mention the strange LE utterances...

The source told CBS News’ correspondent Randall Pinkston that the suspect has failed at least one polygraph lie detector test and possibly more. The suspect has not been formally charged, but is not at large.

The victim, 24-year-old Le, and the suspect may have known each other, says the source

If they knew each other they could have talked by phone that day and there would be that record.

they have stated multiple times that this wasn't a random act, I saw a post that said it was? im confused

No one is in danger because they know who it is.

So Roy, Since this personj is not in custody, do you think he is being detained in 'the box'?

We read this person has lawyered up {who knows if that is true, but possible}, and it is concerning that if he isn't watched he might flip out and do harm to himself. That is the last thing anyone would want to happen!

ETA: Thanks Gene for your answer on the previous page lol Can't they hold someone for a certain period of time without arrest pending investigation? I think it's something like 24 hours, and that might jive with the presser scheduled at 3 pm tomoz. LE will take every minute to polish their case, get back any search warrants they have out, etc. IMO

IMO, if they had the attack on film they would have found her sooner. But I guess anything is possible.

To the posters above, I mean it wasn't a random act. SORRY!!!

Yeah, I think they have him in "the box". That is exactly it.

Roy - please! 2nd request. Where did you get this info. I would never have thought this...ever!

ETA: Roy has clarified it to mean NOT a random act. Thanks Roy.

It was "not" a random act. The article at the top of this page is from a reputable reporter. Read it. It is by Randall Pinkston.

The other body was from 2007 and posted by mistake. It is a rumor that has taken off like a match in a wheat field!

Lets get with the program.

The book she was carrying was NOT cleverly cut and folded into the shape of a cat to confuse the perp.

There is only ONE very small body (RIP).

The perp may, OR may not be a student (depending upon when today the dean kicked him out of Yale).

Not hard to follow and I'm chromosome challenged!

Realize how many frames they had to view of those films.
ITA BB! You know, I am amazed they found her as quickly as they did... I mean 75 cameras worth of video to go thru to see if she even left the building! That is just a huge amt of work... and than to be in a building with all animal and most likely even some human tissue... and then to find her in a wall and bloody clothes in a ceiling... it is just "beyond belief" :blowkiss:

I saw your correction and ETA my post to include... NOT random...thanks

The hunt for Annie Le's murderer is reportedly focusing on a suspect who flunked lie detector tests and has defensive wounds on his body.

New Haven police knocked down earlier reports that the suspect is also a student, saying there are "no students involved in this case."

Ok so I just typed a quote that this person is a he and is not a student? so any ideas if it wasn't a random act or a student?

they have stated multiple times that this wasn't a random act, I saw a post that said it was? im confused

Not a "random act" and "no one else in danger" makes me think fiance.

Just my thoughts....

IMO, if they had the attack on film they would have found her sooner. But I guess anything is possible.

Yeah, I doubt it was on film. More likely they knew what the perp was wearing due to the cameras and then of course they find the perps bloody clothes. They also have record of a small number of people with access to the basement. Combine that with defensive wounds and you have a suspect within 24 hours of finding the bloody clothes and a body.
