Is there a link to the press conference? It's either over or on right now ...

Never mind, I see Anderson 360 and Greta ...

Can someone please post the highlights of the press conference, I can't get to the TV right now.........thanks.

I just want to throw my 2 cents in about university laboratories since I work in one at a large university. Our animal technicians and our lab staff do, in fact, work closely together. We have to schedule transports with them. If there are any problems with our animals, the techs are the ones we go to. Also, lab notes are left in the lab, but you don't need a PhD to decipher them. I work on one project, but I know exactly what's going on in the other projects in the lab. We have separate projects, but we still work as a team. The support staff and the research staff aren't as segregated as one may think. I just don't want people to think all labs are like what Labrat has described. No offense....

No problem at all! It's good to know what possibilities exist. Are the animal techs you mention your animal techs or husbandry techs? Of course all the people in your lab are familiar with each others projects, but are husbandry techs familiar with them also?

I'm thinking I was not clear with what I was trying to say- Husbandry and vet techs work inside the animal facility- they are not going into the research labs getting to know what people are doing, they are too busy with their work, at least in my experience. Transports and problems with the animals are part of their work. When I said it was separate, what I meant is that the animal tech taking care of my mouse room is not going to be coming into my lab and watch me do experiments and take a look at my research notes.

I was responding to all the "in the lab" comments thrown around by the press as though everyone is in one big room together.

None of the reporting on the cameras has been very clear- it's bounced around quite a bit- inside and outside, no- only outside, 75 on that building,no- 75 covering the whole campus. I remember the 70:5 ratio also, but can it be trusted?

Probably not! In going back to find the source, I read thru many articles and the reporting was kind of loose. Many times it was "in the area". That's why that ratio stuck in my mind, I think, but then why would you want to give that kind of specific info out to the public?

I'm glad you remembered that number! I'm not going bonkers!

Sorry guys, I got an important phone call.

Press conference has not started yet.

I can tell you what I would have done. I would have gotten one of the large draped caging supply racks, put the body in it, zipped up the drape, rolled it into the other room, positioned the rack between the access panel and the door to block the view of anyone peeking into the room, and that would be that. If it were a mouse room, I would reposition a few mouse racks for additional cover.

Anyone who saw me in the hall would think I was taking supplies to a room. Researchers coming in generally go straight to their mouse rooms, and animal techs should be inside rooms working at that time. It's not like people congregate in the hall chatting.

You scare me, Inspector Labrat.

But I get your point: It would be possible to move her at the time of the murder without people seeing.

still waiting on presser for those that have no TV
Greta talking about ACORN to Carl Rove

I'm also sorta flipping between all the news channels.
Nothing yet.

They just showed microphones, etc. set up for press conference on Greta.

when greta first came on she was talking to reporter new haven, he had asked someone (LE) if this conference was called to announce there was a killer on the loose. Answer was "we wouldn't call you out here for something like that)"

I expect to hear he's in custody. at least if its him, i hope so.

New Haven police scheduled a press conference to give an update in the investigation into the death of a Yale University graduate student.

The conference was scheduled to begin at 9:45 p.m. Monday, but had yet to begin at 10 p.m.

Suspect, his two relatives and fiance stay home from work
Today, September 15, 2009, 4 hours ago | Victor Zapana Paul Needham
A suspect in the murder of Annie Le MED '13 did not show up for work today and neither did his sister, brother-in-law or fiancé, all of whom work for Yale. A medical campus employee who is privy to developments in the investigation said in an interview that the four all stayed home today. The suspect, who works in Yale's Animal Resources Center, could not be seen at his Middletown apartment this afternoon.
