Police search for missing 4-year-old girl from Mansfield

MANSFIELD, CT (WFSB) - State police are searching for a 4-year-old from Mansfield that has been missing since December 16.

Police say Emily Tajildeen was last seen with her biological mother, 39-year-old Na Li.

State police said they received a phone call stating Li had not arrived for her scheduled exchange to hand Tajildeen over to her father.

When police went to the home in Mansfield, they said it was empty.

Authorities said Li is a Chinese national and it appears she may have gone to China.

Does anyone know why this is a Silver Alert and not an Amber Alert? And how can a 4 year old in this situation be considered a runaway?!?

Isn’t this more of a non-custodial parental abduction or something??

“Police were called after her mother failed to appear with Emily for a scheduled exchange with her biological father.

Mother is a Chinese national suspected to have fled to China.

Police have not issued a missing person alert for Li while Emily is considered an ‘endangered runaway.’”

Does anyone know why this is a Silver Alert and not an Amber Alert? And how can a 4 year old in this situation be considered a runaway?!?
