It looks like she/ her family have hired a new private lawyer

“Crosland said in a statement that he expects to represent Troconis after her convictions in the murder case have been overturned.

I’m hired personally by Michelle and her family," Crosland said in a statement Wednesday. "I am totally convinced of her innocence, and the evidence presented at her trial does not support a conviction. I stand ready, willing and able to retry her case once the appellate court overturns this wrongful conviction; which we are 100 percent confident will happen.”

So let me get this straight…Michi maintains there is no money for a private lawyer for the appeal but then she has money for a private lawyer after the appeal ?
How “ Troconis” of her/ them imo.
In a world that feels like it’s gone squirrelly to me - these people remain right up there in contention for squirrelly- est.

Of course, just PR for another lawyer seeking 'hits' in Google's search engine! IMO, this goes right up there with the defendant who offers a large reward for their missing spouse-- knowing they will never be found! Let MT play her 'woe, is me-- South American immigrant' all she wants. No trial Judge thus far (let alone an Appellate Court) believes Andy Bowman ever denied MT her constitutional rights -- including an interpreter. JMO

CT INSIDER - FEB 19, 2025

He said he came into the case because Troconis' family is "tapped out" after paying for all of Troconis' legal representation since Dulos' 2019 disappearance.

Crosland said a videographer who recorded the trial and who had been subpoenaed by Frost has agreed to testify at Troconis' trial on the contempt charge. Troconis is accused of displaying a portion of a sealed Dulos family psychological report during her 2024 trial on charges including conspiracy to commit murder in the death of Jennifer Dulos.

Courtroom video confirmed that a portion of the report could be seen on her laptop during the trial, according to a warrant for her arrest on the contempt of court charge.

Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth Moran said in court the state's presentation of evidence should in the contempt trial should take "no more than a day."

Moran said in September there had been no offer made to Troconis to settle the contempt charge.
Crosland said the charge doesn't make sense because Troconis' attorneys were authorized to have the report, and a court order prohibiting its dissemination didn't apply to her.

Troconis is being represented in the appeal of her conspiracy to commit murder conviction by the state's Office of the Chief Public Defender based on financial information she filed in 2024 claiming she was indigent and had no income since she is incarcerated.

[...]

Crosland said Wednesday that he would help in the appeal if necessary, but commended the work of Troconis' current team in that case.

If convicted, the contempt charge could carry a six-month jail term and a $500 fine. It was unclear whether, if convicted of the charge, a judge would add six months to her sentence in the death of Dulos or have the sentences run concurrently.

Atty Crosland also said her attorneys had a copy of the report--as did FD, and others not specifically named.

Interesting wording there @pernickety …. and not yours but that in the earlier excerpt; and these questions are not directed at anyone specifically.

So IIUC is attorney Crosland conceding that his client (MT the now convicted defendant) was not authorized to have a copy of the report? IANAL.

And the other question, where did his client get that copy of the report? MOO

And I recall JS saying on video shortly after the "showing" something to the effect of "She didn't get it from me. Norm Pattis had a copy of it." IMO, if FD had a copy of it, he would have given a copy to NP. IMO there were 2 people obsessed with the Gone Girl theory--MT and NP. I noticed recently that NP seems to have 2 websites running concurrently. On one of them he's posted a number of old news items related to his GG theory. Is this a way of getting around his agreement with the probate court administrator of FD's estate that in order to get to keep part of that last retainer (rather than letting it go to the judgment in the Farber civil case against FD), NP wasn't allowed to speak or write about the Dulos case?

Bumping tweets by Marissa from 2024 hearing when the contempt trial was set for March 11, 2025 (before MT hired new counsel):

BREAKING: Michelle Troconis’ trial in the contempt case has been set for March 11. Troconis didn’t waive her right to a jury trial yet, but her attorney Robert Frost said it’s likely she will go with a bench trial.

Troconis is accused of displaying a sealed custody report from the Dulos divorce case on her laptop during her trial in connection to the disappearance and death of Jennifer Dulos.

Troconis appeared in Stamford Superior Court today for a hearing in the case regarding motions filed by the defense. One was to subpoena the videographer that recorded the trial, who lives in Massachusetts. To testify for the defense at trial. That was granted.

Another motion had to do with a request for a “bill of particulars,” and whether the state is alleging the crime was Troconis’ mere possession of the report or her publicly displaying it with purpose of getting that information out.

Asst. State’s Attorney Elizabeth Moran said the state will be moving forward with both theories at trial.

The defense also requested a copy of court orders sealing the report, which Moran said she’ll work on getting to them.

Of particular note, defense attorney Robert Frost saying, “I’m surprised this is still being pursued.” His belief is this charge all boils down to the videographer shooting something he was told not to, Troconis’ laptop.

Moran disputed that, saying the case isn’t just about that. She pointed out the state was alerted to the report by an audience member in court, not from someone who saw the livestream. It was only when the state investigated that they saw the report on the livestream.

ETA: So much for news over the past months that the parties had been negotiating in good faith for a resolution when defense attorney Frost is now requesting a copy of the Court Order sealing the (Herman) report...

Is Frost playing dumb or was this just more arrogance that follows team Troconis that they could get the charges against poor MT dismissed?

In Frost's previous request for a subpoena, to be served at the offices of the Law & Crime network — which broadcast a livestream of the trial on YouTube that racked up tens of thousands of views per day — the attorney said he wanted to ask the videographer questions about what instructions he was given before the trial began and how he followed them.

In the filing, the lawyer said the question of whether the view of Troconis' laptop depicted on the livestream was "inadvertent" would "undermine the reasonableness of the state's current claim that the trial participants (including Ms. Troconis) knew or had reason to believe that virtually anything placed on a laptop screen would be seen by the public on the Law & Crime livestream."

ETA: So what does it matter if this is what the L & C videographer testifies to when this came to the attention of the State/Court by a party in the gallery, not by someone watching YTube-- albeit the Prosecution was able to see it later on YTube, and played it for the Court.

I just hope this case is a bench trial so we don't have to hear another defender of MT pontificate for the Jurors. Crosland's "garbage" media circus following the hearing did not impress. JMO

It's only because of the livestreaming that there's video proof for what she did.

Why the big print, Inmate #whatever?

It wasn't for the camera person, IMO, but for her beloved media plant.

For her new attorney to pretend that it's somehow the camera person's fault for filming it is ridiculous. He just caught her violating the rules of the court.

Calls this a TIRADE, unfair what he poor vault has to go through, coming into court for this.

Sheesh.

Bet there's a long history of cleaning up after MT, this is just more of that. She doesn't think the rules apply to her. She got caught passing a note in big girl school. That's on her.

I only wish the penalty could be stiffer. For what she's putting everyone through.

When can we be done with her?

Enough already.

You bet there's history, and Crosland's been drinking the Troconis punch for years too!! Crosland told the media how he'd watched the trial where it was all about what Fotis Dulos did, and MT was never mentioned until the last day of the trial! SMH...

Yes @pernickety I recall that too.

The other IMO disturbing aspect of this entire sealed ‘report’ display by the now convicted defendant MT and having had the report - til now, AFAIK no attorneys involved have been held to account for this?

Have the attorneys even been questioned about their involvement? JS, AF, NP, and any others involved then or now? SMH. MOO

Oh my, cry me a river
The new lawyer laments that MT's family has to come all the way from Miami for this... IMO this is just more wasting of the courts time.
MT was not supposed to have the report that she she displayed on her computer screen for all in the gallery to see behind her - it was not visible just on tape.
And how about a little context here,
MT and her family and her legal people had maneuvered consistently during the trial to try to introduce the report, in the courtroom in front of the jury despite the judges orders that it was NOT to be introduced.
Putting the report up on her screen was just another attempt on her part to get the report out there.
Actions ? Meet consequences...Seemingly a novel concept to these people.

I don’t think the attorneys have or ever will ever be asked about their involvement-and definitely not under oath.

They have to travel all the way from Miami? Tough titty! That’s what happens when you spend a lifetime pulling your kid’s fat out of the fire.
