GUILTY CT - Jennifer Dulos, 50, deceased/not found, New Canaan, 24 May 2019 *ARRESTS* #71

  • #1,381
Was just listening to the available portion of afternoon testimony and wanted to update my prior comment about the search warrant and later an arrest affidavit and Atty Bowman not appearing to have them immediately. The testimony today was that the document was sealed for 14 days (this matches my recollection from the time based on the public not seeing any of the details for about 2 weeks). I didn't realize that this sealing precluded attorney such as Atty Bowman from seeing the document as well.

That surprised me, too.

Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but why was she in street clothes?

For some season, some inmates get to wear street clothes, and others get to wear prison issue clothing. Not sure whether CT automatically permits street clothing for court proceeding or not. There’s no jury here to allegedly prejudice with prison issue, so I don’t know.

I imagine they're pretending prison garb would be unfairly prejudicial as if she's going to have a new trial.

Enjoy it, Honey. It'll be short-lived.

I got the impression by her demeanor at the beginning of the morning session that MT thinks she’s going to be free soon-she looked so happy and relaxed.

She was on the closest thing to a date as she's been in years. With the whole world focused on her. Game on for her.

She needs to stop abusing the legal system and go serve her sentence quietly.

I cannot wait to hear from atty Colangelo and detective kimball as both had to not only listen to the MT lies in the 3 interviews, but then track back the statements to available evidence.

We saw months spent on the process of proving out the MT statements and it all took a huge amt of man hours at a time when finding JF was the priority. I remember the great anger and outrage of detective kimball in particular and I very much wonder if he will describe the first moment he knew MT was lying and totally wasting the time of law enforcement resources. Ditto for Atty Colangelo as iirc he believed MT didn’t know anything initially and then did a 180 turn and prosecuted her hard.

It stuns me that the MT (and mama Troconis) lies persisted for so long. I do wonder how much of their decision making possibly related to their experiences with the mama Troconis federal investigation for medicare fraud and her imo lies in that case or even the impact of their understanding of dealing with law enforcement in Venezuela, where lying police is simply a given and effective tactic for escaping accountability. I think MT and Mama both underestimated the professionalism and diligence of the CSP and MT was enraged about being held accountable for her role as a co conspirator and Dulos sidekick for years! I don’t think MT or mama Troconis were ever duped by the lies of Dulos but they hung on because of their hope to access the farber wealth or possibly the money Dulos stashed away with his friends.

MT didn’t stop lying even after Dulos suicide and that surprised me as she could have claimed coercive control and fear for her life. The fact that she didn’t change her tune after Dulos death imo proved that she was all in on the murder and I do wonder if her role would have been made crystal clear with the release of her phone and data?

It's not just her that annoys me, but her family too. Let them support her as much as they want, but crying and saying she's innocent I don't understand, what are they idiots? Haven't they seen the videos? And some other man came to support her, but the press once wrote that he is her boyfriend. 😡

I thought a while back, that Pawel Gumienny was on her list of witnesses to call, but no longer on her list…probably thought he would be more harmful than helpful to her. Is the scope of questioning pretty narrow in this hearing? Just wondering if they were unable to ask him about his immunity deal, and that’s what she originally wanted. Also saw that Ventresca and Kimball were on the list, but not considered “likely” to be called. I wonder why not? I imagine that those two would have much to say about those three sessions that she willingly engaged in with them, although it would seem that the videos would speak for themselves. Schoenhorn will probably take up much of the rest of the time.
AIR, Atty Fitzpatrick spoke to Greenwich Retired Men's Assn several years back about Judge Bishop's granting of Michael Skakel's claim that his counsel, Sherman, was ineffective in his defense--and then the appeal that was heard by the CT Supreme Court, but not yet ruled on. Fitzpatrick was pretty sure that the SC would agree with the lower court, but they overruled Bishop. But then there was a motion for reconsideration, and with some new SC justices replacing others, Judge Bishop's ruling was upheld.

IMO there are no similarities between the particular issues of Skakel's case against Sherman and the issues of Troconis's case against Bowman.

Did they ever ask Bowman--in this hearing--why he withdrew from her representation?
The Troconis family made it sound as if it was their decision to retain other counsel. Was Bowman asked--in this hearing--whether it had anything to do with the psych report on JFD and whether to keep pressing for it to be put into evidence? AIR right on the tape of one of her interviews, but outside presence of LE, MT asks AB whether she should tell them about the report and he says no.

Oh, please, please, please, let her phone records come into this hearing.

They did not ask him (yet)-maybe tomorrow on cross, he’ll be asked. Not that I think he’ll be allowed to answer-it may be considered “irrelevant.” But not to us! And as far as the psych report-Bowman said “NO” quite emphatically.

Could this really be a possibility? Wouldn't that be the icing on the cake if so.

Seems to me, if she gets to call detectives to the stand:, they should get to clarify why they said what they said, did what they did, believed what they believed about MT.

Frankly I'd like an explanation for how her phone records got suppressed in the first place.
