What were they doing? We haven't heard a word about that visit that I can find.

No you are correct we have no news. But one of the local stations (think it was fox61) had their drone cam and so we had ariel shots of MT walking around the JC backyard with LE. If I recall the shots were of the rear most portion of the back yard where the woods start and then they walked along the perimeter of the yard to the front portion and then the shot cut out.

Are you referring to Waveny Park? If you are then yes the pond was drained (its a shallow pond maybe 3-4 ft deep but with a mucky bottom) and local FD called in local Darien FD for assistance.

Thank you @afitzy . I knew I had read it here but I couldn't find it. I remember that LE returned to Waveny Park and drained the pond, it wasn't drained on the first search. I'll keep looking.

A family member had to do this same thing and had only a few, longtime friends who knew and understood why, and together, they planned it all out. One friend found a house to rent, etc.

My guess is possibly she had the atty handle everything as it might have needed to have her name on the transaction. In alot of DV cases people need to hide to stay safe so she might have tried to stay hidden for a time until divorce action was filed. If I recall she was in NY for a short time prior to moving into NC house.

Absolutely agree. My guess is that he has been living on the profit from the Hemlock Hill property in NC that sold in 2017 I believe.

JD went to court because she knew about the sale but couldn't understand why the income/profit wasn't reported to court as part of the financial disclosure requirements. To my knowledge this issue was never resolved by Judge Heller even though the sale price of the property was public and registered at NC Town Hall.

I don't believe he has had any recent sales other than the last NC house and he is sitting on an inventory of 6-7 unsold properties and has undeveloped land for sale in Avon. Wonder where the money from the sale of Hemlock Hill is hiding or could it have been sent to someone else for safekeeping. When you look at just the taxes (forget the ongoing maintenance for sake of argument) to carry the portfolio of unsold real estate its not an insignificant amount of money and taxes are typically due in July in most CT towns. Wonder how/if these tax payments will be made this year?

usually not considered as finished homes and the final inspection
not done by county/city on purpose so that the home on the tax rolls is still shown as vacant lot w/ unfinished home. So builder only gets billed for taxes based on the lot assessment, not the
finished home. Big difference on what is owed.

Also do we know when FD sold the lot that another builder is
doing a custom build for clients? The one that was having the
foundation poured the week JD went missing? The homeowner
said LE had been out several times to search the property and the
builder was co-operting w/ LE.

I have a hard time thinking he was unprepared at that point.
All of this is speculation and totally IMO but...I'm leaning towards a version of he took the red truck with fake plates Friday early, parked it near Waveny Park, had a backpack full of plastic drop cloth/bleach/weapon/duct tape/full tyvek suit, walked over to JD's Welles house, snuck into the garage and got prepared while she was getting ready to leave. Ambushed her as she came into the garage to leave, struggled & bludgeoned her, made a larger mess than he predicted, threw her whole body and everything he cleaned up with in the plastic tarp and taped it up well. Put her in her SUV & drove to Waveny Park & put her in the red truck bed and covered her with bags of something for landscaping and a tarp, and drove directly to 80 Mountain Springs. I presume he had an area sealed off with plastic, he then took all the cleaning supplies and clothing and put them in 30 flimsy bags, used a sawzall type tool, and wrapped her body very compact in 3-4 plastic drop cloth packages & hid it all temporarily at 80 Mountain Springs. He quickly drove the red truck up to the Avon car wash and powerwashed the truck bed. He then walked the 45 min home to Jeff Xing and waited for EE to let him know he was back at Mountain Springs with the Raptor. He then traveled over(?) to Mountain Springs and in 15 min loaded up the 30 blood bags and 3-4 body bags in the Raptor. He removed the body bags at Jeff Xing and put them out back of his house somewhere. You could fit those body bags in empty soil/lime/fertilizer bags and cause less suspicion on the MT end (she could say I only saw him carry dirt bags out back). I'm up in the air about why he then left for the Albany Ave 30 bag disposal during daylight, but maybe he realized he was being immediately implicated. The sawzall was left to disappear on Albany Ave. He may have gotten the body bags further off the property, like a neighbor shed, after dark. I think he then sat on it for a couple days until he knew where he stood. Then he hiked them up into the West Hartford reservoir and buried them one at a time during daylight in our faces. I hope he got poison ivy in very uncomfortable areas. ALL IMO!!!

Yes you are correct pond wasn't drained in the beginning days of the search but towards the end and if I recall the draining happened midmorning/midday timeframe.

Excellent questions about the tax bill amts. and how much is actually due and payable. I will have to research to answer but assuming that full taxes are due on 'completed houses/projects' then FD has the Farmington houses in the finished category and only NC house in the 'unfinished category'. The Avon property (former residence awhile ago of JD/FD and where FD Mother was killed) is listed as for sale but I don't know the taxes due on it but recall that it had an assessed value of roughly $700,000.

We had previously posted the Farmington CT tax records and they showed what appeared to be taxes based on completed/ready to occupy houses IMO (annual taxes ranged from $20,000 - $44,000 if I recall with the $44,000 being for 4JC and I don't recall the annual tax shown for the NC property but will check and report back later on what I find).

Will work on all this over the holiday break and report back.

I enjoy both of your posts but I hope we don't veer too far into entertainment. It's really horrific and heartbreaking, I know we all agree, it just becomes a little distasteful to me when it starts to feel like fodder. I do appreciate the sarcasm and great way with words, I just feel this tragedy of human beings not Lifetime movie caricatures. Nothing fun about it.

Agree. And unfortunately these Jennifer Dulos threads seem to have a much greater number or share of posts that, at least in my view, are of the "entertainment", gawker, gossip, self-indulgent, and projection types than others I've seen.

Town of Farmington GIS - ArcGIS Server Parcel Application
This is the best map I can find showing 4 Jefferson Crossing and all of the Farmington Foregroup properties. I don't have a list of the property addresses, but 80 Mountain Spring is also visible. You can zoom in and out, but the best thing about this map is if you go to the upper right hand corner under "Map Layers" and click on "2016 Color Ariel" you get a wonderful winter non-vegetated view.
Notice the Jeff Xing back yard and it's VERY close proximity to ~vast~ wilderness? That, my friends, is the approx 3k acres of the West Hartford Reservoir. It is open to public hiking, and the Metacomet Trail also passes close to his house. If you click on "Trails" under "Map Layers" I believe it will place a green line for the Metacomet. The reservoir property is not included for the most part on this map because it's mostly not in Farmington.

It was only reported that they had exchanged trucks “for the week” and that EE was to bring the Raptor back on Friday to FD for the weekend. While it wasn’t stated whether they exchanged every night, given morning/afternoon rush hour traffic and the suggestion that EE was to bring it back on Friday, it seems like they wouldn’t be doing the exchange every day as that would add time to the EE commute which was already long going down to and back from NC.

Why did they exchange trucks to begin with? At whose suggestion?

I agree with you, it sounds very very stupid, but I base the idea on the fact that he is a control freak and meticulous. He would want to control every single tiny detail of everything he did and everywhere he went. He is not as familiar with the New Canaan area as he is with the Farmington area. He designed and built Jefferson Xing and 80 Mountain Springs, and it is his safe place. By having her body that close he knows exactly where she is and whats going on with that area. I believe an architect commented that he didn't end up working with FD partially because of the weird dynamic where JD was summoned to their work meeting and dismissed. He wants to control her in life and death. He is not going to discard her else where because that would be out of his control. That is the worst thing in the world to him. Again all IMO

It's official, I'm either reading too many posts, or I'm crazy! I awoke from a nap with a voice in my head saying "She's in deep water ". I knew immediately it was JD. It may be time to get the net. ...for me. Reluctantly posting.

It was about 1pm... I was up at Waveny, there was a lot of media and a couple of choppers stationery overhead above the pond.

great dialogue. and while we all speculate its nice when nobody takes offence to a difference in opinion. I now see why he would bring her back in the red truck, to his area, that he knows very well. BUT then my question to you is why arent the hartford garbage bags with the body all in once place? My story is he dumped her somewhere in NC between her house and wav park. Switches from JDs car to the red truck that was stashed there in the am, loads the other garage bags in red truck to get rid of later. I believe he truly felt like he did a thorough clean up job at JDs house and his plan of this abduction could still work. Not having the cleanup material with the body is the only way it works.

You both make valid points. But he had to have known that he’d be a suspect. That’s why I don’t think he’d hide her body on any of his properties.
