I speak from limited experience with friends and family:
Attorneys advise spouses seeking custody to be extremely nice, no yelling, no angry emails, texts or social media. They're instructed to look like choir boys on Facebook, erasing any distasteful posts.

It's all about the old saying of drawing more flies with honey...

Someone like Jennifer who once loved FD would want so much to believe he was cleaning up his act for their children's sake.

He is a player. We saw that for ourselves on TV.
He played her to get access to her father's money, to birth children for access to their trust funds. Of course he could play her to get an invitation to the kids' end of school celebration. He knew which buttons to push for sympathy.

Two years is a long time to be angry and anxious and a peaceful moment would be welcome for Jennifer.

I don't believe he had to break into her garage. I believe he walked up and said, "Hey, let's talk about how to make life good for our children," and she would have turned her back to lead him into the house for a cup of coffee.

Then her life ended.
(The rest of you are doing a good job of sleuthing what happened next.)

We have the benefit of 20/20 hindsight but Jennifer did not. These predators are charming and very attentive at first. But their victims eventually learn it is all about control, manipulation and greed. I doubt FD wanted the children at all. I think the man is incapable of empathy. I do believe Jennifer feared FD and had been for quite some time. The rapid reporting of her disappearance by friends and her mother are an indication to me there is no way she'd want to be anywhere alone with the man.

I am assuming most of us have watched and or read FoDu’s interview with NBC NY at this point. In this thread and the previous thread many of y’all referenced FoDu’s comments re: that since April of 2019 he and JD, according to FoDu, we’re having a more cordial relationship up until the 24th of May.

ITA with how everyone feels. If indeed JD and FoDu were communicating more directly and more cordially, I truly believe the reasons were twofold.

1. FoDu was trying to butter her up in the hopes of going to mediation at some point. Eventually, IMO, FoDu realized that the estate suit was still going forward. The financial documents were going to have to be produced. The custody case was still moving forward as well. Once he recognized IMO the attempts to put the divorce/custody case in mediation would not be successful he began plotting JD’s murder. MOO!

2. If FoDu was still cordial with JD at this point he was trying to lower JDs guard. Because he already intended to kill her. JMO.

He was probably trying a new tactic after his visitation was suspended March-May 2019 by Judge Heller bc he was not complying with the Judge’s orders. JMO. He was probably seriously plotting and planning for JDs murder from This point on. MOO!

The above pictures of different addresses show a serene area away from the hustle and bustle. Beautiful!

Personally, I can’t imagine living “out”like that without a security system. Add to that JD had five children to protect knowing their father wanted custody of them more than anything else in the world!

IMO, JD would have been more worried and concerned about the safety of her children than she would have been herself.

I feel sure JD was always on the ‘look over her shoulder and around her’ suspecting FD might appear at any time. Guess we will never know what really happened and how she responded to FD’s appearance that fatal day.

Regarding the IMO theory that FD walked down the powerline from behind his house to the Red Trail at West Hartford Resevoir, I can’t account for the section closest to his house but the lower part is very clear, graveled, and downhill (pic 1)

This powerline connects to the top left corner of there Red Trail and goes to the right to the far left corner of Reservoir 3, (pic 2), which LE reported putting a dive team in 7/3.

With my 30lb child in a child-carrier backpack I walked a section of the red trail from the parking lot to the intersection with the powerline and then to the left corner of Res 3. Also up over a grassy hill that holds several utilities.
A couple things I learned: you would have to dig off past the edge of the woods, off somewhere your digging won’t be heard or overseen and still be able to find your way back to it, and good luck with that poison ivy. There are paths that branch off from both sides of that section. Also walking that section is completely uphill. Which was very grueling with a 30lb backpack, seeing as I am not in shape. If I didn’t have a heart attack from learning our Farmington car tax bills were over due I am certainly having one now lol.

I’d like to add that taking a shorter path through the woods from Jeff Xing house to the Resevoir area would involve more climbs, decents, and far less stable, uncleared footing which would be a problem given the heavy weight of a backpack.

Yes, reading that article made me think of Chris Watts and how suddenly compliant and agreeable he was with his wife just before he killed her. Imo

I find it interesting. Her parents were Upper East side residents for many years. We learn through a friend that she had an opulent wedding in the city.

The poor girl is missing and those that love her are in anguish.

I worked for a few discreetly wealthy men in the city and publicity is not the way they roll. By the way, one Chairman I worked for had a bodyguard with him at all times. I asked the bodyguard why Mr. So and So needed him and he said because he’s a Jewish Billionaire. This was in 2000. Most C-Level executives have a driver, personal assistant and executive assistant. CEO’s have an administrative assistant for their executive assistant. Then there is a whole staff for each of the homes. I digress, but I’m sure the Co-Op Board has security protocols at the building so it would not be a situation where Jennifer’s missing, get out the phone book and call an armed guard. Everything is quiet and already in place. I’ll give you an example of how quietly they live their lives. My former boss’s cousin lived in Palm Beach, FL and was a great tennis player. This was in the 70’s or 80’s and the Country Club near his estate did not allow Jews to be members. He hired all of the tennis pros from the club to teach and play at his tennis courts on his estate making much more money. The Country Club did not fare well.

Yep. FoDu is a world class liar, IMO. I hope he gives more interviews bc as much as the first one enraged us he truly thinks he is back in control of the narrative and as such maybe he will slip up more. I never believed it was that much more cordial but I can see him trying to “butter her up” to get her to lower her guard. Jmo. I think he prayed upon the “feelings” she may have still had despite the fact that he had utterly tried to destroy her. MOO as always. He was always trying to manipulate and control JD. I can believe he took any opportunity he could to try and get her to drop the suits and go to mediation. When that didn’t work he then plotted her murder and was just trying to get her guard down and establish to others that he was MR. Nice Guy so when she went missing he could blab about how there was no reason to do her harm bc he and JD were “getting along” so well. ITA with your post.

Nice and friendly when you are doing what he wants and then as soon as the crew didn't seem to be leaving we see frustration and then the next frame shows him stopming off and then goes to tense cell phone call. IMO a picture tells the story....

Is it the GAL representative to stay with and supervise FD in that instance or to keep his eyes on the children? In other words, if the rep has all the children around a picnic table and has eyes on them and FD goes around the corner out of sight what is the reps responsibility? Does anyone know?

It’s usually not the GAL that supervises. Usually is a Social Worker.
