I also think about JD giving up her faith. Not raising her children to practice their faith which is the Jewish faith. Why would she agree to that? This FD has been telling JD from the beginning, that she's not good enough. Maybe his abuse was subtle at first.

I also feel so much for her for this, and naming the kids with the Greek names, not being allowed to have her own bathroom, one small space for herself when her father was bankrolling their entire life..

It’s hard for me to imagine how demanding he must have been, for JD to just give in, to keep the peace. She realized that there wasn’t any way, short of leaving him, for her to live as she wished (with her own bathroom!). It must have been terrible living with him for almost all of the time they were together. I wonder if wife #1 was relieved to see him go?

Speculation here: FD may have insisted on no NYT wedding announcement with some spin like out of sensitivity to wife one former wife who was reportedly a mutual classmate.
He likely wanted to keep his dating and romance options open too, so FD likely would prefer to hide the fact of this marriage from undue publicity. Sociopaths (recall Scott Peterson and likely many some folks on here have had the misfortune to have in their lives) will often travel a lot and represent themselves as being single, widowed, having just gotten their hearts broken or been betrayed — as a lure to compassionate and nurturing ladies/people they’re grooming/trying to bait, etc.

Totally agreed. I think JD finally found her voice, only to be killed by her husband the abuser. I don't know JD, and it's at times heartbreaking for me to read what she put up with. I can not imagine the pain her mother,sister, family and friends are experiencing. Especially since they were probably cheering JD on for reclaiming her life. This FD is the definition of evil.

She seemed like a wistful and sweet lady who didn't want to make waves but so badly wanted a nice family life and a real partner.

Maybe he wanted to lock her in quickly before she could change her mind. And he has access to her money in August, rather than waiting an additional 6 months for access. I’m not sure it really matters when they married, at this point.
