Given the 30-bins odyssey, and the fact that LE IDs individuals who look like MT and FD depositing bags along Albany Avenue, we're talking grocery-store bags or the small bath/kitchen type. Doubtful that LE could get the evidence tampering charges without some clear evidence/visual of "blood" cited in reports. *World Cup libations this am might be responsible for nonsense posts pm.*

I’m not even sure they said garbage bags. iirc they just said bags. One of the earliest reports said there was what looked like blood on the bags.

So then I thought they weren’t black garbage bags, but might be grocery bags like you get at grocery stores.

I use grocery bags to collect my garbage in and then put them in my garbage bin. IMO FD’s bags were not large black garbage bags nor contractor bags, that he put in garbage bins/dumpsters in North Hartford, but smaller bags of some sort.

MOO, for now! But my opinions are known to change at the drop of a hat! (Whatever that means!)

ETA: What color and size are contractor bags? My ex was a contractor, also, but I don’t remember him having bags... for garbage or otherwise. I would think he did. I just don’t recall seeing them.

Contractor bags are black, very large and extremely heavy duty. Not saying he did, but 120 pounds would easily fit in one and wouldn't break through. That's what I thought of first and then saw someone say white. If he used contractor bags, I can't imagine what he would have put in them. No way there would be thirty of them. Imo

ITA He can't have been so foolish as to have a plan that included spilling all that blood, and bringing contractor bags to put the clean up materials in on purpose.
I don't think he meant to have any blood spilled and when that happened, he just grabbed whatever bags were around her house. Kitchen and bathroom trash bags are the most likely, they are usually white and a dark substance smeared on them would be noticeable.

My point is to understand how blood was identified on the bags, @AnnaGrace . I have a surveillance camera at my house. Night-time footage isn't as good as daytime. I feel that if LE pressed the tampering charges, and mentioned blood, they have something substantial, and that isn't something you'd see on a video of contractor bags. IMO

There's also no way FD would have expected to find residential garbage cans empty enough to hold bags that size.

In order to check garbage cans for open space FD must have been sticking his arm and head out the truck window so was he driving on the wrong side of the road?

Was he pulling bags through the window or actually getting out of his truck at each stop?

He must have stepped out at some time since LE describes his shirt and hat. Oh, yes, he had to get out to put the tags in the hole.

Can't wait to see the actual video! I bet FD can't either so he can figure out more ways to explain it away. ("Oh, that's my cousin, Vinny! Vinny, what are you up to?")

But, he had to have transferred the bags into the Raptor at some point, in Farmington, before they left to do the drop off, and he could have re-bagged them then in larger or darker bags if it was too suspicious/visible. It will make it harder for MT to profess innocence if they are light colored bags with visible dark markings that look like blood.

When the Hartford cameras were coming online a few years back WFSB did a report about them. Can’t find that story available online but if you do a search for

there is a YouTube video that has plenty of footage so anyone interested can see just how good/bad the footage is.

From the docket it looks like it was JD (not FD) who wanted the GAL replaced- presumably for sharing the unfinished report with FDs attorney MR since this was filed on 5/1/19.

Of course now we know (via Pattis) that the GAL gave the report to MR who gave it to FD who left it “on his desk” for easy pickup when Pattis’ couriers went to get FDs passport...

Reading their divorce docket makes me dizzy. As the judge said (quoted in HC “Charles Manson” article) they could have closed the court and heard only their motions for a whole year and the case still wouldn’t have been over...

Agreed. It illustrates what @afitzy has been saying all along about the system. All that money doled out to lawyers, family counselors, 3 shrinks etc. Years of motions upon motions. Nothing resolved. All to no avail. And now she is gone and the children have no mother. They should all be ashamed of themselves.

I wasn't there. By the way it's written it seems to me that the evaluator was annoyed with the questioning by JFD's attorney. Did not appreciate being challenged.

That's unusual.

Also, if the report was favorable to FD he would have been screaming for restoration of his rights pending the resumption of cross or a further eval., instead of murdering his wife.

Could you link me to the docket? Also, this case ended up such a mess because of FD. When I see cases this horrible it's because one side is insane and vengeful and has money to litigate.

If the family court remains on hold, could custody change after FD's August hearing? I am assuming that the August date is for pre-trial. If the case is held over for trial, could FD be granted custody as the "other" parent? The thought makes me weary...

The smaller white bags make more sense definitely, for several reasons.

It's all been lost in translation. I think people got confused because it was reported that they could see bloody bags on the video. I suspect they didn't know they were bloody until they confiscated them. I would bet they were contractor's bags. JMO.

Per the warrant the video showed that "items" were discarded which appeared to be stained with a substance consistent with blood. The warrant did not say that the garbage bags appeared to have blood on them.

I get that, Gitana. I'm not blaming the system for her death. He's the only one to blame. But I do find credence in Fitzy's view of the system in CT.

Oh where to start.....so many issues in this post and the biggest rat in the mix our old buddy No Case Norm/NCN!

I am of two minds (or more) on NCN strategy in this very sad case. NCN's shotgun approach to the theory of the day with zero facts and extreme victim shaming will either go down as a law school case study on how not to defend a murderer or the total opposite IMO. The entire NCN/FD dialog with MT that played out for over 2 weeks was just bizarre. But now we can breathe a sign of relief as according to NCN the star crossed lovers are 'broken up'....I'll believe it when I see it and I don't believe this for a second!

My personal opinion so far for whats it worth is that the victim shaming and defamation of JD by FD/NCN has been shameful and professionally irresponsbility and actually irreparably damaged the public's view of his client FD. If FD didn't want to be thought of as a 'monster' by the public then why behave as one and why let his atty drag JD in such a humiliating way? We have seen zero humanity from FD or his legal team and I just keep going back to the arrest warrant where it was clear that FD (and MT) just lawyered up immediately and refused to help the investigation from the second he was contacted by NCPD. Who treats the mother of their 5 children in such a profoundly disrespectful way? IMO, FD answered this question himself by calling himself a 'monster'. So, no sympathy here for FD as his choices were made early in this case and IMO he will pay a huge price for these choices down the line as he eventually faces a jury. Poor FD just can't get out of his own way IMO and its been painful to watch him trying to continue to be the 'smartest guy in the room' when he is anything but......

As I believe NCN was trying to taint the jury pool in order to get a change of venue then I guess he has done well for his client and maybe the law school case might evntually show him as a victor but I'm not willing to take that bet yet as its totally early days for this case and we have yet to see the CT judiciary in action (oh happy days...)!

The NCN/FD victim bashing has been awful, inhumane and painful to listen to all the same and I truly feel for the family and friends of JD.

NCN knew what he was getting in for with defending FD IMO and it included doing the work pro bono as the money in the relationship belonged almost solely to JD (GF litigation will no doubt take a chunk of change away from FD too as she has slapped liens on at least 2 of the properties). If NCN didn't know this all going in then he deserved to get stiffed IMO. But no sympathy on on money for NCN and his firm, not one bit. NCN is a big boy and knew what he was signing up for with this case so no tears from me for NCN! Based on testimonies from NCN former clients its clear that the firm has its 'ways' of getting paid and they will figure it all out. Also, my guess is that it would be possible to resign the case if further charges are filed and flee like the rest of FD attys are attempting to do now!

On the houses being 'tainted' by association with FD, I'm not so sure that they can't be sold in the next couple of years. My guess is that so long as LE doesn't discover JD body or crime scene at one of the properties that at some price (most likely 1/2 of list at best) will sell. The houses in Farmington are truly white elephants IMO as they are just too large and expensive for the market (with associated high taxes - 4JX has $40,000 annual taxes!!) that they are in for most of the people that live in the area. But the broker that was interviewed a couple of weeks ago thought at some price the Farmington houses would sell. The NC house is overpriced too but could be sold at some price even in a soft market as the location isn't terrible IMO even though the landscaping and finishing is subpar by neighborhood standards.

I often keep those small grocery plastic bags when I go shopping in the CT towns that still allow them because they are convenient to have for small clean up jobs. I'm assuming that FD made 30 stops because those were the only type of bags he had on hand, wherever he was located...perhaps at a house that was being built where you don't have a designated garbage can. FD and NP come up in the dictionary when you look up the word narcissist.FD "knows what he did and didn't do", in other words, knows what he may be able to get away with and NP is going to try and create as much DOUBT as he can because that is what he is being hired for - to create doubt. NP knows FD killed JD. NP thinks he's a rock star. They are both vile narcissists. Poor FD , he is without his kids and girlfriend..he's the "real victim". There are too many people in this world like FD who use and abuse innocent people like JD who just want to be loved. I can't wait to see this monster go down. MT is a monster too. Come on LE...give us something this week!
