I'm no forensics expert, but these are great questions and I wouldn't be surprised if these
clues do tell more of the story.
Was the pillow in a bag w/ body parts and closed up till separated to do multiple trash can dumps? If not exposed, but bagged, I would guess it would stay wet longer.

I'm going to check and see about your second question.
Keep thinking, your questions are terrific.

So The Courant reporter was able to talk directly
to the knife finder man. Great connections this
reporter has.
Sounds like knife finder man may be in hidden
location according to the article. Wouldn't want to be in his shoes right now. Fudge may also be looking for him as well as FD.
Now we know why FD is so familiar with this hood, it's where he buys his drugs.

I hope LE has hooked up knifefinder man with
the local methadone clinic to get him clean so
he can be a more credible witness at trial.
Nothing worse than an active crack addict testifying.

What significance could be attached to the blood on the pillow still being wet at that time of the evening? Maybe none as there was so much of it, and it wasn’t yet the height of summer, so would take time to dry.

Also, can forensics tell whether blood was from time of death or from some hours later?
From this article it seems forensics can tell
if blood is from time of death (or within minutes) compared to older blood that has begun to change. Decomposition starts happening within minutes of death. Changes
in blood cells show a difference in acidic condition and bacteria in the blood.

What happens to our bodies after we die

A Hartford man may have found a knife linked to the disappearance of New Canaan mother Jennifer Farber Dulos in the trash — and then traded it away, sources with direct knowledge of the case have told The Courant

Wondering if the police were able to do DNA analysis on the pants this guy was wearing. I doubt they get washed very often.

I went through a traumatic experience with one of my children hurting themselves yesterday afternoon. We are oh so very lucky in that everything is fine but I can't get the images or the stress of the situation out of my mind and I can't sleep...

Something about that video of MT leading LE to the back property line has always bugged me. Your thought makes sense too, leaving that way for trip to NC or Hartford. Or better yet, what about leaving the employee's car there so he wouldn't be seen leaving his home driving it or caught on any neighbor's cameras? I believe the story line around that vehicle being in NC that day hasn't been explained yet either. That was a very damning piece of evidence pretty boy never thought would be figured out. I feel it played a huge part in allowing him to surprise/sneak up on JD because she wouldn't have thought it was him. Maybe both vehicle exchanges took place at 80 MS since FD knew the property didn't have its own cameras and was much closer to Highway 4 helping to avoid detection/recognition.

As to how much time FD put in at 80 MS, an eerie side note is that when you look at the address on Google Maps, the satellite view image shows his black raptor parked there. It is a huge house as well that looks no where near being completed.

Many have said here that the reports of her shirt and bra have been well timed leaks from LE and I feel the situation with the story about KM is the same, they are absolutely connected and there is more to the story. For someone who thinks they are so smart and above any law/court/judge/God/whatever, LE is saying we are smarter and have done our homework.

As for Pattis saying he couldn't have done this in the amount of time he had/before a holiday weekend...something I've learned since living here and had not seen so much other places...Thursdays seem to be Fridays. Thursday nights are more busy in restaurants that Friday nights. Traffic is worse on Thursdays than on Fridays because just about everyone I've met in any sort of a professional career takes Fridays off multiple times a year and especially on the eve of holiday weekends. Three day weekends aren't that, they are four, five, six day weekends for anyone who can pull it off. With this thinking, traffic would have been less on Friday morning, especially earlier (if he left early enough to be in NC when JD returned from dropping the kids off at school) and in the direction he would have been going from Farmington to NC (toward NYC, not away from it, which would have been the least congested at that time, not like on another regular work day where so many from that area would have been going into the city). Any city people looking to get out that hadn't already left yet would have been traveling in the opposite direction. Drown out all the fuzzy noise from Pattis.

I have had a thought going around and around in my head for a long time and I can't help but wonder if somehow it might have happened. There has been talk about FD getting information from someone connected to JD (maid, nanny, etc.) about what she would have been doing that day, but what about something else happening far less nefarious or by accident? Through my childbirth experiences (and just life in general) I have had to see many doctors and JD's recent doctor visits, blood tests, fertility treatments, etc. have been mentioned. In my experience only, there have been many times where I could not get a doctor's office to update my contact information. No amount of frustration on my part could seem to make this happen and in some cases it went on for years, every visit being asked if my phone/address was correct, telling them it wasn't and giving them my new/current one, only to find out on the next visit it still hadn't been changed. I have long wondered if something like this happened, a mailing was sent or an appointment reminder call (or more than one) made to 4 JX. I mean this was her residence up until just 2 years ago and these doctors she was seeing in NYC that day probably weren't here primary care physicians, hence they might not have gotten the memo on the address/phone number change or updated their systems yet. And I've had doctor's offices give me these calls up to a week in advance as I remember thinking if you remind me too far in advance, I'm going to forget that now ain't I? Something like this could have given FD insight into her plans that day, enough time to come up with a plan, and he would have thought no one would have been looking for her for some time if she was supposed to be at appointments in the city. AGAIN, my thought/opinions only.
Very insightful. This makes total sense as to how FD could have known about her appointments. It could also be that he had been getting notices for awhile and so was able to use the information to plan her murder. MOO

Has anyone heard anything more about the body found off Coney Island I believe it was on 7/11?

As usual, you guys have been smart and busy today! I love the updates and the court document! Great work! I had a long drive today and started musing.

1) All this time, we’ve been thinking about this mostly as having been just FD and then MT on the trash-can run. What if we rewind and see if and where another person might have helped such as by moving her car? I wonder where that person and his phone were that day after the breakfast meeting?

2) Based on all we’ve seen from FD’s own words and court records, FD is all about FD, not about helping others just to be kind. What was in it for him to be so insistent about trying to get the lawyer’s wife to see him? (I know there’s a separate thread for him but since this is really about FD, I thought it ought to go here. If not, please let me know for the future and please accept my apologies.) I don’t see FD confiding in anyone BUT if each had something dire on the other, perhaps. Are there any recently disturbed earth areas at that guy’s house? Ponds out back?

3) Also, do we know why that celebration was held at JD’s the Wednesday before she disappeared (is that right?). It was a Greek traditional celebration, I think? Was that usual then at that time to have FD there at her house? If it was the Greek event and he had the kids (with the GAL rep there) on Wednesday nights, why were they at JD’s house and not his? I wonder why and when it was decided to have that event there. Could he possibly have engineered that so he could scope out the current surroundings such as if new cameras were visible or to listen for information on schedules such as hers and the maid’s?

4) That banging at the Sturbridge house early the next morning still is on my mind. In construction, bulldozers are used to compact the building pads, etc., but in some places closer to a structure, those are too heavy so they use bobcats, track-mounted vehicles like on ATVs, and scrapers with blades. People who do that all the time don’t have a lot of fits and starts but someone like FD would as I doubt he does much compaction himself. Also, with all the snow you guys get and the long driveways, surely there’s a decent-sized snow plow or blade there or not far. Someone who’s inexperienced at scraping especially with no snow probably would make metal scraping noises. I keep thinking about how the farmers here scrape the concrete barn and garage floors to clean them and then sometimes power wash them.

5) I kept thinking about a press and now I’m thinking what about weights like for exercise being dropped onto something to compress it? I don’t know why a person would do that but smaller is easier to hide or dispose of than something larger.

Feel free to ignore or dismiss these thoughts. I think of them as catalysts for you guys to brainstorm further!

Have a good night/day, and thank you all for all you do!

P.S. I believe JD mentioned in a blog post that FD read/liked The Art of War by Sun Tzu. I haven’t read it but know of it. Anyone who has read it, does this give us helpful insights?

*All MOO.*
Man, you are good!

I say Adon-🤬🤬🤬 to that. Ick.
or did Mr. Pretty Boy who worked out daily, weighed himself daily?
Remember the comment from the teacher in NC
who said the other teachers called him an Adonis. This tells me he was tanning and doing
free weights daily to earn that title.

Now we have a knife pilfering, dumpster diving, crackhead to consider in this case.

Welp, this is a layer of 'that's crazy' that I wasn't prepared for.

Just a reminder that the former Fore employee who traded trucks with FD has not been named - understandably so. Frightening position to be in and glad he appears to be well represented.

Yeah, FD must be collecting a HUGE pile of
bricks for his revenge throwing antics.
Should be a warning in the Farmington paper
"Do Not Sell Bricks To This Guy".

From the Courant 2
“I put my hand in the garbage can, I picked up the bloody thing, the bloody pillow and I looked underneath and there was a knife under there,” said the man, whom The Courant is not identifying because he is a potential witness. “It was about a quart of blood on the pillow, all over the pillow. I tell you, whoever got hurt got hurt real bad.”

He told The Courant he put the pillow back, took the knife and then traded it for a $5 rock of crack cocaine to a man he knew only as “Fudge.”
Sources have verified that there is video surveillance of the man reaching into the garbage can and removing items the weekend Farber Dulos disappeared. They also confirmed a statement was taken from him before state police conducted a massive search on May 31 with dogs and troopers in the Albany Avenue area.

BBM: I wonder if LE can see the pillow on the surveillance, or even the knife? Either way, this is great evidence IMO.

I'm guessing LE was looking for that pillow at MIRA, along with other things.

I wonder if it was a couch type pillow or a bed type pillow with a pillow case.

IMO, FD's goose is cooked. LE has quite a trail here. I can only imagine the number of white boards they have filled up on this case thus far.

Yes, Fudge! He sounds like a lovely guy! Trading that knife for crack and all!

I hope LE has found Fudge!

I'm super new here, just signed up to follow news about JD. I stumbled upon you in a Google search and I have to say you all are so smart and insightful.

I won't be a big commenter, but I had to say how much NP gives me the creeps. I couldn't even watch that whole video.

Thank you all for being here, the news is so heartbreaking, and yet to see so many caring people gives my heart a bit of hope for all of us.
Welcome to Websleuths, VacationMode! :)

When I saw The Art of War by Sun Tzu mention here, I thought oh no not another lover of that book. I had a very hostile divorce from ex. I purchased my home and slept with knife under my pillow for quite awhile. Very ugly, and ex loved The Art of War.

If this article wasn't from the Courant, I might totally disregard it. David Altamari has seemed like a conservative reporter who stays away from hype and gossip. This article is absolutely stunning, IMO.

I hope LE has found Fudge!
Yeah, this is such a crime riddled area, I'm sure
local LE knows exactly who Fudge is.
There's quite an underground web of players
in the world of street drugs. Plus with undercover cops infiltrating these social
networks and the snitches, they're all well known.

  • #879
I mentioned early on that the irony would be that the little people would take him down. He ventured into this troubled neighborhood to dispose of his handiwork, no doubt thinking it would go unnoticed.
In my experience, the poor stick together. They commiserate, communicate, tend to know the good and the bad amongst them. Know the people on the streets.
I would venture to say better than those in wealthier suburban towns.
LE will find "Fudge" if they haven't already.
I suspect they have several people that rummaged through the trash and dumpsters found on video or who may have come forward.
The walls are closing in for Mr. Fotis, IMO.
