I would venture to say there were more dumpster divers. This is such a depressed area. Lots of street people rummaging through trying to survive. Who knows what they garnered or noticed in that week before LE arrived?Thinking we will hear much more in the future. MOO.

So sorry! I said something like this without having read yours first.

One thing stood out to me... the loud banging from inside the house.

In my mind I kept thinking outside but inside interests me.

At 5 am inside loud metal banging. Loud enough to wake up dogs. The neighbors aren’t that close. What on earth was he doing?

That banging just nags at me, too.

State police investigating the disappearance of New Canaan mother Jennifer Farber Dulos have interviewed a Hartford man who told them he found a knife while rummaging through a trash can on Albany Avenue days after Farber Dulos disappeared — and later traded it away, sources with direct knowledge of the case have told The Courant.

The knife — along with a bloody pillow — was allegedly found by the man in the same Hartford neighborhood as other items linked to Farber Dulos’ May 24 disappearance. They include a Vineyard Vines shirt police believe Farber Dulos was wearing the day she disappeared, along with other items recovered during a police search of the area.

In an exclusive interview with The Courant after his release from prison this week on misdemeanor charges of failure to appear and trespassing, the man — still wearing his gray prison garb — said he was walking on Albany Avenue just past Garden Street when he reached into a garbage can and saw a pillow.

“I put my hand in the garbage can, I picked up the bloody thing, the bloody pillow and I looked underneath and there was a knife under there,” said the man, whom The Courant is not identifying because he is a potential witness. “It was about a quart of blood on the pillow, all over the pillow. I tell you, whoever got hurt got hurt real bad.”

He told The Courant he put the pillow back, took the knife and then traded it for a $5 rock of crack cocaine to a man he knew only as “Fudge.”

A Hartford man may have found a knife linked to the disappearance of New Canaan mother Jennifer Farber Dulos in the trash — and then traded it away

I’ve searched some words related to pillow, etc. and something is resounding in my mind about this, too. Thinking.

The pillow and knife could have been the only items in a smaller white bathroom bag and was not knotted shut, so that when the man reached into the dumpster, he was able to reach right into the bag.
If he killed her in the shower or bathroom, he would have had a bag available right there. Also if he had to get rid of towels, bath mat, sheets or blankets that he wrapped her in so he could carry her down to the garage, that goes a long way to filling 30 bags for disposal. It also accounts for blood on the bra and tee shirt. MOO MOO

A bath pillow like you rest your head on? Thinking.

The NE article seems to be heavily slanted in
their positive description of MT and how much she has assisted.
I wonder, since NE headquarters are in S. Fl. is
if someone close to MT was involved in getting
this article done and somewhat exonerating MT. It just sounds too biased, IMO.
Thanks for that posting. I am not usually a fan of that publication, but the article appears to be well-sourced. I hadn't seen it before and was pleased to learn about two important facts known to LE. First, evidence was found and seized at FD's homes-significantly in cans, bags and dumpsters. Second, LE does believe FD went through the woods to his house on the day of the murder to avoid being filmed by neighborhood cameras. If he did so on his way to get his employer's borrowed truck before the murder, that act is evidence of premeditation. Guess that jaunt through the underbrush explains how he came into contact with poison ivy.

Both of these facts make this a first degree murder case. The forensic evidence is very important, but so is having someone who can pinpoint FD's movements in those woods on the day of the murder. I agree that MT's culpability for this murder and the sincerity of her cooperation with LE remains to be established. Still, if the source of this story is federal LE and this article is reliable, all the press conferences in the world are not going to allow FD to escape responsibility for this crime. There is evidence of the murder at HIS home and there is evidence that he went through the woods to escape detection. Coffin meet nail.

Since I first read this account earlier in the thread it’s been bothering me. Wanted to read through to the end of the thread to see what you all were saying. It’s just not ringing true.

@3blue1pink, I don't think its significant at all.

Its just that we have learned so much about the suspect FD (and still have so many questions!) but it hadn't been reported yet about the tat.

We don't know what the tat image is so I'm curious about that? But I'm curious about most things and this just struck me as interesting. Most people put some thought into their tats IME. So, I wonder what was important to FD to do this tat? Could the tat say Michi?

IDK and this is all pure speculation in a time of little to no news so its just meaningless chit chat seen while on my ongoing search of the internet to find a random tweet about MT.
I would assume he has a tattoo of himself.

I'm sorry to beat this dead horse but I think it's important to keep pointing out the facts.

We do not know there were 30 bags disposed of by FD and MT; we know that they made 30 stops, come of which may have been unproductive with cans too full to add more.

I don't remember that description but I do remember a reference to blood being found in the house (not the blood mixed with his DNA found on the faucet) and at the time I suggested that he followed her into the house and surprised her while she was changing for the trip to NYC, perhaps in the shower. She could have picked up a pillow to defend herself. He could have carried her back out to the garage. If she regained consciousness, he may have used a knife at that point, causing the blood which had to be cleaned up. I will keep looking for the reference.

This fits with my (vague) recollection. I seem to remember an early discussion here about linens and how it should be relatively easy for LE to establish whether a particular item (towel? bedlinen?) came from JD’s house or FD/MT’s. I just can’t remember the source of that info, though.

BBM. So glad you commented on this.
I was hesitant to believe your first point. Thought it could be a blurring of the lines......Albany Ave search vs his residences.
As for #2 I am inclined to believe this is concrete.
Really appreciate your solid views. MOO.

I went through a traumatic experience with one of my children hurting themselves yesterday afternoon. We are oh so very lucky in that everything is fine but I can't get the images or the stress of the situation out of my mind and I can't sleep...

Something about that video of MT leading LE to the back property line has always bugged me. Your thought makes sense too, leaving that way for trip to NC or Hartford. Or better yet, what about leaving the employee's car there so he wouldn't be seen leaving his home driving it or caught on any neighbor's cameras? I believe the story line around that vehicle being in NC that day hasn't been explained yet either. That was a very damning piece of evidence pretty boy never thought would be figured out. I feel it played a huge part in allowing him to surprise/sneak up on JD because she wouldn't have thought it was him. Maybe both vehicle exchanges took place at 80 MS since FD knew the property didn't have its own cameras and was much closer to Highway 4 helping to avoid detection/recognition.

As to how much time FD put in at 80 MS, an eerie side note is that when you look at the address on Google Maps, the satellite view image shows his black raptor parked there. It is a huge house as well that looks no where near being completed.

Many have said here that the reports of her shirt and bra have been well timed leaks from LE and I feel the situation with the story about KM is the same, they are absolutely connected and there is more to the story. For someone who thinks they are so smart and above any law/court/judge/God/whatever, LE is saying we are smarter and have done our homework.

As for Pattis saying he couldn't have done this in the amount of time he had/before a holiday weekend...something I've learned since living here and had not seen so much other places...Thursdays seem to be Fridays. Thursday nights are more busy in restaurants that Friday nights. Traffic is worse on Thursdays than on Fridays because just about everyone I've met in any sort of a professional career takes Fridays off multiple times a year and especially on the eve of holiday weekends. Three day weekends aren't that, they are four, five, six day weekends for anyone who can pull it off. With this thinking, traffic would have been less on Friday morning, especially earlier (if he left early enough to be in NC when JD returned from dropping the kids off at school) and in the direction he would have been going from Farmington to NC (toward NYC, not away from it, which would have been the least congested at that time, not like on another regular work day where so many from that area would have been going into the city). Any city people looking to get out that hadn't already left yet would have been traveling in the opposite direction. Drown out all the fuzzy noise from Pattis.

I have had a thought going around and around in my head for a long time and I can't help but wonder if somehow it might have happened. There has been talk about FD getting information from someone connected to JD (maid, nanny, etc.) about what she would have been doing that day, but what about something else happening far less nefarious or by accident? Through my childbirth experiences (and just life in general) I have had to see many doctors and JD's recent doctor visits, blood tests, fertility treatments, etc. have been mentioned. In my experience only, there have been many times where I could not get a doctor's office to update my contact information. No amount of frustration on my part could seem to make this happen and in some cases it went on for years, every visit being asked if my phone/address was correct, telling them it wasn't and giving them my new/current one, only to find out on the next visit it still hadn't been changed. I have long wondered if something like this happened, a mailing was sent or an appointment reminder call (or more than one) made to 4 JX. I mean this was her residence up until just 2 years ago and these doctors she was seeing in NYC that day probably weren't here primary care physicians, hence they might not have gotten the memo on the address/phone number change or updated their systems yet. And I've had doctor's offices give me these calls up to a week in advance as I remember thinking if you remind me too far in advance, I'm going to forget that now ain't I? Something like this could have given FD insight into her plans that day, enough time to come up with a plan, and he would have thought no one would have been looking for her for some time if she was supposed to be at appointments in the city. AGAIN, my thought/opinions only.
Friday’s are usually lighter on traffic anyways.

The excerpt below is from the Hartford Courant article :
A Hartford man may have found a knife linked to the disappearance of New Canaan mother Jennifer Farber Dulos in the trash — and then traded it away

Sources have verified that there is video surveillance of the man reaching into the garbage can and removing items the weekend Farber Dulos disappeared. They also confirmed a statement was taken from him before state police conducted a massive search on May 31 with dogs and troopers in the Albany Avenue area.“

The article continues:

“Before interviewing the man who said he found the knife, state police had already recovered some of the items allegedly dumped on Albany Avenue, including the Vineyard Vines shirt stained in blood that they believe Farber Dulos was wearing the day she disappeared.”

Just a few things to think about. 1. “Sources” are telling this reporter details about the surveillance video. Details about a just released from prison drug addict, but these sources didnt also answer how many bags? Or what color bags??? Ie- other pressing details ?
2. Source also says, LE didn’t do their search immediately, but FIRST interviewed this guy BEFORE checking to see what FD was dumping. So they used precious time to track down this guy before they dig into the trash cans themselves.
3. Oh no wait, LE did do their search, then they interviewed this guy....

Me thinks something is not right here.
And there is no way in hell even Doofus put an unconcealed soaking bloody pillow in the trash. With the knife underneath. Umm he just put a boxed package in a storm drain... guess he forgot to throw the knife in there, let alone wipe it off.

Wow. Okay, so I just did some reading up on the Greek Mafia. There is such a thing. It sounds very bad, headquartered mostly in Athens where FD grew up, and reaches across Europe and to the states.
I have a feeling that he is far worse than we have imagined.

Who tipped off the reporter ? Maybe a leak designed to scare the bejesus out of MT , KM and whomever else they have evidence on .
As you and others have mentioned, I agree. The reporting from the HC this week is definitely sending a message.

Also, do you guys find it odd that the name Fudge was not removed from the quotation in the article? I think there is a reason why the name was mentioned. MOO

Poor Jennifer
What a gosh darn shame. A street man who uses drugs sheds light on this case.

I like your thoughts/ideas too!
He is so cooked. I agree. He had the truck switch at MS so he could go there thru the woods- poison ivy- and the cameras wouldn’t see.
