I think LE fell down on the job with the search warrants for the Toyota in 2 ways:
1. If they didn't know on 5/31 that FD drove it often, they definitely knew on 6/2. Why no search warrant until 6/6 or request made to EE on the spot for permission to search?
2. LE had been made aware of the seat issue on 5/31. Why was that not in the search warrant? That seems like a grave error to me.
So yes, I do wonder what took so long. It's odd.
I do not think EE had any prior knowledge or participation after the fact in this crime. However to characterize his thinking as "his employer was acting just a little more stupid than usual by Washing EE's Truck and Demanding that the seats be changed" is the same as saying EE is not very bright.
You asked "So, EE was supposed to be a psychic and determine that FO murdered JF just because FO was acting a little more stupid than usual, about an employee's red truck"?
Answer: I don't think anyone has to be a psychic to figure out what happened. And EE would have been way ahead of the people here at WS.
You asked "What Exactly was EE supposed to approach the Authorities and tell them, about FO Before June 2?"
Answer: It's not that hard. LE asked for tips. As soon as the washing of the truck, the seat swapping talk, the grilling of EE about his day on the 24th, the odd key issue at MS, that's what could have been told to LE. And he was still leaving the truck at 4JC. If FD hadn't been so lazy, he might have swapped out the seats himself. So yes, evidence was in jeopardy.
I think the Never Trust the Authorities thing is most likely overblown here, IMO. He went to the station on 6/2 without a lawyer, AFAIK.
I have NEVER stated any comparison of EE to MT or FD and I don't believe there is ANY equivalency. I do believe he has told the truth. FD and MT managed to get themselves arrested the first time without his help and I do feel he is overall decent person but do I have to agree with every single thing and the timing of it in order to believe that? All is well that ends well but if MY loved one was missing, I would expect EE to come forward immediately with his information. On 5/30 it was already reported in the media that blood was found and LE was investigating the case as a homicide. IMO.
I was not slighting LE in any way.
I was saying that it would be just as ludicrous to blame EE for waiting as it would be to blame LE for waiting. Especially when neither actually waited.
FO and MT were arrested on June 1.
The Very Next Day, EE tells everything to LE.
With the information in that Arrest Warrant, EE was then able to put 2 and 2 together and realize that he needed to tell EE that FO had access to his red truck and that FO washed the red truck and FO demanded that EE exchange the seats in the red truck.
So Basically, EE only waited 1 day, not 9.
EE's red truck was washed on May 29 and for several days after that, FO demanded the seat exchange. So let's say that puts us at Friday, May 31.
The very next day, June 1 is the Arrest of FO and MT.
Then the very next day, EE speaks with LE.
I don't understand why people think that EE waited and/or withheld information and/or evidence.
IMO, EE told everything to LE immediately after putting it together when FO and MT were arrested.
I was not questioning why LE took 4 days to seize the red truck.
I am sure that it took LE all 24 hours of each of the 4 days to review the CCTV cameras that picked up the red truck on its journey that Friday and let's not forget the school bus CCTV cameras as well.
There are Many routes to and from NC and Farmington. Lots of video to sort through. But, without that CCTV evidence, LE would not have received a Warrant for EE's red truck. So that is why it took 4 days to get the Warrant.
Actually, I am surprised it did not take longer than 4 days.
IMO.
