Maybe I missed something but are you certain that MT was meeting with a criminal lawyer (Bowman) when she said she had to meet her attorney before heading to Russell Speeders?
I can think of many business and personal reasons she could have to meet with a lawyer on May 29, so not necessarily a criminal matter.
And if she was meeting with criminal attorney Bowman, that should also be of no surprise either.
First, I think it's safe to say that MT has probably found herself in bad company more often than not, and FD no exception.
When you keep that kind of company, you must stay 10 paces ahead of their next deal if you don't want to be left holding the bag. If you're a constant witness in your shady crowd, you'll always need an attorney to take your calls!
On May 29, washing the blood evidence from the Toyota, would probably be a good time to have counsel lined up.
MT would understand that at any moment, they could get picked up. She'd want to be represented ahead of time in the event she could not make bail. She also had to consider her minor child who was far from dad and immediate family.
If I remember correctly, she's not the one that spent days incarcerated arguing about a 401K for collateral and/or trying to get bail straightened out. IMO, MT and her family were prepared for her arrest.
