I wonder if she carried a knife as a form of self defense? Would be wise to do so given her situation. Perhaps he overpowered her and took the knife but not before she made sure there was a bloody mess of evidence.

If it was anything, it was from JX. It's hard to tell the clearance between his property and the power lines that run south towards the main road and how traversable the terrain is. If he could make it through the trees behind his house to the power lines with a vehicle, though, there's what looks to be a dirt maintenance path that also connects with the maintenance road for the entire reservoir system. So incredibly easy if that was possible.

Otherwise, there is also an entrance from the road according to @Bulldogs2

I have been saying since the bra and t-shirt were found, I think it very possible that FD degraded her somehow before he killed her. Forced her to remove her clothing, maybe even sexual assault. It seems plausible to me. If it is ever established that she was NOT dismembered, I can't think of any other reason why her clothes would be separate. MOO.

I’m inclined to believe he took her clothes off after the fact. For fear of any of his dna being found. Always seems to be worried about his hair. And for that matter, I don’t think she would allow him to threaten her into disrobing, as she was a fighter and hated him intensely, from all I’ve read

Thanks, sds71. Hmm, for some reason reservoir 3 is ringing a bell. I think it was a very likely spot for FD to have disposed of JD's body according to someone posting here about a month ago. JMO

I believe Reservoir 3 is the closet to 4JC.

Do LE shifts work like nursing shifts? Second shift was always 3-11 for my mother.

Every department is different. Some work three days three nights then off. I can’t even possibly begin to explain all the different scenarios of shiftwork. So it really depends on the department. But I’m presuming it wasn’t a shift that showed up at three that decided to do an afternoon search.
