I’m jumping a few pages ahead to reply to this so ignore if it’s already been hashed about.

When I heard Foley talk about the racial makeup of the Albany Ave. area community I thought he was trying to maybe make residents angry so they’d be more likely to come forward with information. Some of them may be on LE radar for drug related crimes, etc., such as whoever is associated with Fudge re the knife. MOO

Whenever I read or hear anything coming from LE or even the prosecutor, I’m wondering if they are trying to elicit a response from someone.

It may be that he’s made racist remarks and it may come up at trial if so. I’m just guessing about all of this so...

I thought about that angle myself. It’s pretty advanced thinking if that was the goal, and I don’t have a read as to how smart he is.

He doubled down on that comment as well, even after he may have received criticism.

So he’s either stubborn, or it was purposeful. I’m not sure what to make of it.

Drew Peterson needed help. That would be awkward as hell to do by himself.

He’s fit though, and Jennifer was only 120 pounds.

It could be done though. He could lift it up, and use one of his knees to help.

ETA: The more I think about this, I actually think it would be quite easy.
If the barrel was already in the truck and he just had to put the body in it - then roll it off to bury it or submerge it? I think he could do it - I wonder if they detailed the Raptor after Friday night's Albany dump? JMO

Just looking at Google maps...does anyone know what the green perforated line is? A trail?

Looking at the reservoir map (I turned it sideways to align google maps direction) looks like it is partially wooded trail/Metacomet trail. You can identify by the obvious “C” portion towards the bottom -is brown on the reservoir map and turn to blue

Edited and added another map where I circled the not so obvious “C”

It was apparently detailed 5 days after the murder/evidence dump. By then, her body would have been long gone.

He could have loaded the barrel himself, as the weight would have been about 160 pounds (40 pounds being the weight of a standard 55 gallon drum).

I’m not a big fan of this theory, as he’d have to dump it in a river (if he was smart). It’s possible though.

She would have been just coming out of full rigor mortis the next morning at Sturbridge, I am not sure he could get her into a barrel at that time unless he had thought ahead and folded her into the fetal position as small as he could. Also, was a tall lady and even he folded her arms and legs beforehand she might have been to tall to fit.

Agree. Law School IMO in general provides most with technical expertise, research and writing skills and a framework for analysis.

Strategy and tactics training in defense work IMO is a whole different level of skills. Some people I think learn from seeing how others tried and won cases. Other folks work with masters and learn by osmosis. Some learn through trial and error.

Lots of different paths to get really good but when you see a true master of defense world its a sight to behold IMO. The other thing that is so hard to quantify is the people part of the defense job. Its not enough to have solid tactics and strategy if you can't work the people, process and the system. The rumors of Pattis again butting heads with Colangelo (as they did long ago on a case and where Colangelo cleaned Pattis' clock BTW) is disturbing as it won't help his client most likely and could impact the way the case plays out.

Its hard to generalize but I do think that discipline both in thought and actions generally serves defenders well. Sadly I don't think we have seen much of either of these things from Pattisland.

To @oceancalling OP, which I loved BTW, with FO and Pattis its a bad matchup as there is simply 'no adult in the room' to keep the train on the track IMO.

Right now it seems like the Pattisville train ride with FD is running off the rails.

The Pattisville facial expressions, treatment of the Judge and demeanor inside and outside the courtroom in Norwalk to me were not only unprofessional but they were unproductive. Guy was clearly having a bad day for whatever reason but he simply wanted to drag the entire world down with him IMO. This is counterproductive and unprofessional IMO but we have seen it on an ongoing basis as it seems like Pattis has zero self control.

If I were his client (wouldn't happen BTW!) I would be afraid to see that lack of focus and discipline as most of the time he looks like a flailing drowning person. Perhaps Pattis simply has too much on his plate and not enough support staff? IDK.

In many respects Pattis seems to be a one trick pony in his dialog about helping the downtrodden, hated or misunderstood get justice. IMO, if there was any substance behind these statements he would keep his eye on the ball and focus on what is impt. Pattis IMO is kind of like a child that desparately needs their ADD medication but refuses to take it consistently and so is always running the risk of self destruction.

FD has a tough decision to make IMO as to whether to stick with Pattis after everything that has been seen play out over the past few months. For my money if I were about to be sitting with murder charges (as I expect will happen to FD in the near future), I would think long and hard about putting myself in the hands of Pattisville.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but I cannot recall seeing anything like we have seen play out in this case in recent times. The system needs for FD to have solid representation in order to function and I'm actually quite concerned that he might not have it!

MOO MOO MOO MOO MOO
Very good thoughts and so enlightening, thanks for contributing this. For those of us without a background in the courtroom, it's
so helpful to hear these reviews. I will keep this in mind as we proceed.
And I appreciate the greetings.

Actually I was talking about his Ford Raptor they used to dump the bloody garbage bags - have we heard this was detailed? I don't think so - I think it's still impounded. The Tacoma was detailed and I still wonder if they did a thorough job or if there was blood in the carpet after this trip to the car wash? JMO

But where ?

61 Sturbridge Hill Road, New Canaan
80 Mountain Spring Road, Farmington
585 Deercliff Road, Avon -- Probably not, since it is Dilapidated.

FO can take his pick.

Thank you. I needed the perspective of someone who might be able to try it. I think my dad could have lifted 120 pounds in a barrel.

He also used it for certain kinds of yard waste, but when he knew he was putting stuff in his truck, he used these lighter barrels (made of this compressed cardboard stuff but with metal lids).

I'd think they'd need to be weighted down pretty good right before tipping into the water, as they're pretty buoyant. Those people who shoot Niagara in metal barrels seem to pop right up.

I wonder how much weight it would need to keep it down. Would be an easy object to identify with sonar techniques, I'd think (underwater).

Those equipment bags mentioned on this thread might be harder to pick out, if there's silt or mud.

He could have drilled holes in it, which would allow the barrel to float for a while (down a river for example).

Then it would sink.

Sorry. I keep confusing those vehicles.

No, we don’t know if he detailed that as well.

It is the border line of the West Hartford Reservoir property.

Happy BDAY @enelram!

On the paperwork for the medical bills. Like the psych report I have to admit to being curious exactly how it came to be in the hands of FD.

Has No Case Norm shown a copy of the bill to the world or explained where it came from and to whom it was addessed?

Of course NOT!

To me this just seems like the stolen Family Court psych report all over again.

What I am very curious about is was perhaps this "medical bill" something that FD perhaps picked up at Welles either on the 22nd or better yet on the 24th?

Has the State requested a search warrant to take and examine the "medical bill" or has No Case Norm submitted the bill to the court as part of his motion for additional information about the invoice?

What is the address used on the bill?
Who is the bill addressed to?
Was FD tampering with mail that didn't belong to him because it wasn't addressed to him? Why is the State not investigating this as we are talking about private medical records of a missing/deceased person who is not here to act on her own behalf?
How did the bill come to be in the hands of FD?

IMO this entire situation is yet another wild goose chase by Pattisville but I do hope the State checks out whether FD was authorized to open this letter. If this letter is at all tainted then please charge FD and Pattis for mail tampering or whatever charges might be appropriate.

MOO
For sure. afitzy, it's a serious federal offense to tamper with mail... oh wait, he's already been charged, twice, for tampering!! Add these federal charges to the state charges, please Mr. Postman:

"Definition of Tampering
Generally, criminal tampering is defined as tampering with property belonging to another with no right to do so, and with the intent to cause inconvenience or worse to that person. Theft, destruction and defacement of a piece of mail – a letter, postal card, package, box or bag – from a private mailbox, collection box, postal worker or mail truck is classified as mail tampering.

Federal Laws on Mail Tampering
Because the United States Postal Service is a federal agency, mailboxes are considered federal property, and mail theft is charged as a federal offense. If you are charged with mail theft, you could face up to five years in federal prison and fines of up to $250,000. It is also a crime to injure, deface or destroy any mail deposited in a mailbox. For each act of vandalism, you could be imprisoned for up to three years and fined up to $250,000. Depending on the manner in which the mail theft is committed, you could face other criminal charges, such as assault, and breaking and entering. If personal identifying information, such as names, dates of birth, addresses, telephone numbers, tax I.D. numbers, Social Security numbers and driver’s license numbers, was stolen you could also face identity theft charges."

5/29?! Oh, I didn’t recall that, thanks. I would have thought he would have cleaned up the truck the day of the murder, but ... hmm.

The AW says that FO wanted to keep it and have EE drive FO's Ford Raptor home.

The AW says that EE Insisted on taking his Own Red Toyota Truck home with him that Friday.

IMO.

Hi, I am not a google maps user much but I just checked and they have legends online. Double check me but think this might be an idea:

Biking trails

The colors show you the type of bicycling paths.

  • Dark green: Trails that don't have auto traffic.
  • Green: Dedicated lanes are roads that are shared with cars and have a separate bike lane.
  • Dotted green line: Bicycle friendly roads are roads that don't have a bike lane but are recommended for cyclists.
  • Brown: Unpaved trails are off-road dirt paths.
More info:
What does a green dashed line mean on Google Maps?

Light green indicates a dedicated bike lane along a road; Dashed green indicates roads that are designated as preferred for bicycling, but without dedicated lanes.Oct 18, 2018

I don't know if this makes any sense based on where you are looking.

Why does that sound beyond his capacities to me? You're absolutely right and he could have thought of it before (YIKES). A person who is dark and evil enough would actually do it, I guess.

I agree. I think based on what we know so far and some IMO, he had to have dumped her somewhere either between 8:08-11:12am or 12-4pm. I think he wanted to get rid of her body as quickly as possible. I would love to see the alibi notes they wrote, to see what days and times they were trying to cover their butts.
Has Pattis seen the alibi notes? At what point would he actually see the actual evidence?
I should just ask my lawyer hubby instead of bugging you guys... but he is currently embroiled in following whether justice is meted out for the Anguillian hotel worker whom George Hapgood (from Darien, CT) allegedly killed in Anguilla. MOO
