IMO the short answer is that the marriage had any number of 'issues' - infidelity over the years being confirmed by JF friends in NYP article and FD traveling 10 days a month to water ski/ski and/or party etc. FD is also alleged to have a hair trigger temper, have had a gun illegally, lost access to his children for nearly 10 months as he asked his children to lie on his behalf about presence of MT and her daughter at 4Jx (MT and her daughter were not to have access to the Dulos children but this was not honoured by either FD or MT and in fact MT and FD seemed to use MT daughter as a 'go between' with the Dulos children until such time as JF stopped this via Family Court). Divorce case goes on for over 400 motions and even after 2 years was nowhere near to going to trial. Impact on children was also tragic and these issues are discussed in depth in the Family Court file but are now sealed.

But what seemed to get JF to finally pick up and leave 4Jx with the children was FD telling JD about the 1 yr (or more, we don't know exactly when the affair started other than Daily Mail picture from social media showing FD and MT together in FL with his 2 oldest sons) affair with MT/sidepiece.

It was disclosed in Family Court testimony that FD wanted JD and the children to live together with MT and her daughter at 4Jx. IMO this was about as close to 'delusion' as we have seen from FD.

Tragic what he put her through. Very telling the mega control he thought he was entitled to (expecting her to move in on the weekends with the kids when he had another woman there).

Every time we circle back to talking about FD as a "FAMILY MAN" all I can think about are the many wooden statements he utters walking out of court after each appearance or on Dateline or Sarah Wallace interviews where he says something along the lines of, "I miss my children and I love them very much"....

Simply no words as these statements seem to so clearly IMO show a total disconnect between FD and reality. I do think JF was absolutely correct when she referred to FD in Family Court as "delusional". How else to explain disconnection from reality?

The reality for the 5 Dulos children has sadly and tragically been altered forever IMO due to the choices of FD and MT, so to see FD stand anywhere and proclaim to 'love his children' simply rings false.

When these statements regarding 'loving his children' from FD are then followed by his ongoing aggressive legal tactics in Civil Court to find out information about the assets and possible wealth of the children and the Farber family it becomes quite easy to just add another line item to the ever growing "Motives List" in this tragic case.

Did FD and MT think that they would simply drive to NYC to pick up the children after the disappearance of JF and ride the Range Rover or the Tahoe off into the Sunset and live/ski happily ever after?

IMO its all pure delusion on the part of FD and MT. I very much hope LE is all over the FD testimony in Civil Court on 12/3 as my guess is that our growing "Motives List" will simply continue to expand.....

Yes, a family attorney on WB said guys often want their kids not necessarily because of love but....i think she said control*. Of course then they don't have to pay child support.

Passports were surrendered with AW1 but totally agree that the lack of passport wouldn't stop either FD or MT here. FD was allegedly born in Turkey and JF believed that he might have had a passport for there in addition to Greece and US passports (have not heard about a passport from Turkey being seized by LE yet either). Does FD have more passports legal/illegal that LE doesn't know about? IDK.

FD threatened in Family court to abscond with the 5 children to Argentina. Did he get them passports from Argentina unbeknownst to JF? Ditto for Greece as this might have been easier for him as he already had a Greek passport himself IMO.

Its actually unclear which passports MT actually has in her possession too and her actual country of citizenship has been debated as well. MT was born in US/TN but grew up in Venezuela and then lived in Argentina for 6 years or so and also worked in Dubai. Does MT have more passports legal/illegal that LE doesn't know about? IDK.

I hope LE is all over all of these issues as the incentive to flee might increase dramatically over time with more charges. Would FD really not attempt to flee if facing 60+ years sentence if convicted for murder? My guess is that he would at least make an attempt and ditto for MT as she now looks to be a co-conspirator in EVERY sense of the word in this tragic case IMO.

His Actions in Family Court, show that he may just want the older twin boys.

However, it IS all about the money and what money the two children could bring to the table.

JF's father was no dummy and He Protected All the Trust Funds.

There is Absolutely NO WAY that FD could legally get his hands on the children's Trust Funds or JF's for that matter.

The children's Trust Funds only paid for their schooling and the checks were sent directly to the school from the Trust Fund Manager. Their money Never went through the hands of FD.

Yes, the children seemed to be part of the sad equation of this crime for FD. It is believed that on the Sunday after the missing date that FD went into NY to the apartment of GF where the children were staying and tried to either see them or take them. This didn't happen because GF allegedly had an armed guard protecting the family. This entire story seems odd as its unlikely that any NY Doorman worth their salt would have let FD into the building to begin with IMO and even if he stormed the door then it would have been possible to simply stop the elevator too. But, this story or versions of it were reported in the press.

The other issue is that in the opinion of many here, FD overplayed his hand on the custody issue by filing for custody of the children the week after JF went missing (think motion was filed the day after the Memorial Day weekend-how about that for coincidental timing?!).

IMO this was a chilling early twist in this sad case and so tops the "Motives List" currently. With the Civil Case FD and his atty have been RELENTLESS in attempting to figure out the 'wealth' or 'trusts' or 'assets' of the children that might have been set up by the Farber family and so this aspect of the situation is also on the "Motives List" as its been an obvious ploy that has been pointed out many many times in depositions by Atty Weinstein (atty for GF interests).

Maybe not; the authorities have his passport(s) and he is wearing an ankle monitor which has to be charged every day while he is wearing it, for about 2 hours. I believe the Only reason FD filed for custody on Tuesday after he Murdered JF, was because he was prevented by an Armed Guard when he went to pick the children up in Manhattan that weekend.

FD's 'Delusional' mindset, was that he Thought the children would Automatically revert to him once JF went 'missing' and that did not happen. I have No Doubt, that FD thought the Trust Funds would Also revert to him.

I have No Doubt that the plan was to pick up the children and Immediately Abscond.

Dr. GF's Brilliant Chess Move of hiring the armed guards on Friday, May 24th, put a Huge Boulder in FD's 'Master Plan' of taking off with the children AND their Trust Funds.

I have No Doubt that MT was sent to NY Probate Court to find documentation of HF's Will And the Trust Funds along with the Terms of said Trust Funds.

The problem is that Trust Funds are NOT Required to be Filed in Probate Court. Which is really one of the points of creating a Trust Fund.

The Only aspect that MT found, was HF's Will, that does have to be filed in Probate Court.

However, the Real Money are the Trust Funds and FD will NEVER have access to them.

So Many do not make it out alive and So Many who choose to stay.

There was a couple in the news a few years ago in the south, that after she had the baby and she was spending All her time on the less than a week old baby (rightfully so), the boyfriend beat her so bad, that she has never looked her beautiful self again.

Pics showed her black and blue from head to toe and her face was so swollen, you could not even see that she had eyes, much less what color they were. So many broken bones.

So unimaginable terror she must have felt. She may have also thought he would harm the baby.

Fortunately, the mother of the boyfriend showed up to visit the grand baby and she immediately called 911 or I don't think the girlfriend would have survived.

The boyfriend's mother actually testified Against him in court.

I am not sure that I have seen a parent of an abuser actually testify Against their own abusive child.
