Fotis Dulos’ bond is $6 million, which means he’ll have to put up $420,150. That’s 7%, plus a $150 fee. @News12CT

ETA: I believe the reporter is only referring to the cash outlay --not including the additional $6M collateral needed for the bond release.

Suicidal.

IF the reporter's source is correct that she is "unstable," then I agree that would be why she was brought to the hospital accompanied by police, etc.

  • #323
But WHY was she transported via police? Unusual "medical transport" unless the first responders/cops declared her an EDP @ the courthouse & they are paramedics!
Standard behavior would be: 911 call & FD rescue response!
That was my first thougt as well, why did the police take her? And not just one police car. Several.

Across Connecticut, advocates and legislators shared the same concern — and said the Dulos case has again raised questions about how best to prevent domestic violence.
As the disappearance of Jennifer Farber Dulos gained national notoriety, coalition CEO Karen Jarmoc said she was frustrated by initial reports describing the case as “just a nasty divorce or custody battle.”

“Truly, it’s a case of domestic violence, and it’s always been about domestic violence,” she said. “What happened to Jennifer is very similar to what thousands of survivors experience every day.”

As the new legislative session approaches, lawmakers and advocates plan to propose bills surrounding domestic violence, abuse, and family court.

In fiscal year 2019, the coalition served nearly 38,000 victims of domestic violence across the state. There were 14 cases where police have charged an intimate partner in connection with a homicide. In all but one case the victim was a woman.
Domestic violence is really too narrow a term,” said state Sen. Alex Bergstein, D-Greenwich, who will announce new domestic violence legislation Friday. “We’re behind the times, and Connecticut needs to catch up.”

Although domestic abuse laws vary by state, Bergstein said the United Kingdom passed “coercive control" laws in 2015, which recognize a wider definition of abuse.

She called domestic abuse “an abuse of power” that can manifest in forms other than physical violence, such as financial control or emotional abuse. The U.K. defines those behaviors, along with threatening and property damage, as forms of “coercive control” a person can be arrested for.

“These are patterns of controlling, coercive, and dominating behaviors meant to make another person feel small and powerless," Bergstein said.

In a separate legislative effort, Jarmoc and state Sen. Mae Flexer aim to improve training for judges on domestic abuse.

According to a 2019 state report, “Judges receive extensive domestic violence training from national experts” beginning with four days of their two week orientation program and continuing throughout their career. Topics covered include intimate partner violence, domestic violence, perpetrator behavior, and how to assess the level of risk and danger to victims.

Again I say the judge in this case should be removed, failure to protect JD. Obvious statements of fear of FD were ignored as exaggerations. Who would exaggerate about fear, sorry no one.....Judges need to believe women when they say they are afraid to press charges exactly what she told this judge several times. Yet was never listened to, instead he was getting expanded custody rights - CRAZY!

Yikes, first I am hearing of a knife, makes sense with the amount of blood they found cleaned up and rolls and rolls of paper towels. I think his time had just run out for planning and he was just going to go for it and he was so sure he could make it look like she was abducted at Waveny on her morning run near a major road - Merritt Pkway. But time ran out, he got sloppy, didn't plan all the details perfectly. Was just so arrogant that he could do this no problem, he could fool all the investigators after all he is FD. Then when things went wrong he figured no body no ability to charge him. Just such a sicko. Poor JD and her family. The judge in her divorce case should be ashamed of herself and have horrible nightmares. Not getting it, and believing her case, just being enamored with this horrible creature of a man/child she married.....
Judges in family law cases who order something disregarding or not understanding Domestic Violence and then the women is killed....should be penalized or reprimanded in some way. That is my opinion. This is happening too often. There has got to be more education in the courts and for judges regarding the nature of DV.

If her body was wrapped in plastic, zip tied for security or carrying purposes, why would all of that have been removed to dispose of her body , as it seems to have been done ? If she was buried in a pre-dug grave, or weighted and put in a pond or even put in an incinerator, why take off the zip ties and unwrap her?
Unless poor JD was cut up into pieces as has been done before. Then the zip ties not needed. Maybe they spread the remains somewhere? He did have knowledge of taxidermy from his childhood in Greece, according to easier posts.

That is my opinion only, seeing how often this happens. ONE persons bad judgement results in someone's life. There has got to be more education in the courts and for judges regarding the nature of DV.
Agreed! Absolutely! This needs to be addressed, for the memory of JD and her family so it can be taken seriously.

If she was threatening suicide or making suicidal ideation type statements, or something of the like, given the situation and the potential need to protect HER from John Q Public, I can see where they might transport her rather than call for an ambulance.

Livestream

wfsb has livestream up waiting for FD to arrive at home. Not sure how he is not home yet? Its not a 2 hour drive.

Several because they anticipate a bunch of shady Miami Beach characters waiting to break her out.

This is such a dog and pony show between the press and FD & his attorney's. While I was waiting to see them to exit the courthouse, the live feed showed people coming in and out of the court house by using the side concrete ramp over towards the parking garage. When FD and the attorney exited they walked right down the stairs and then right through the group of press folks.

Who does that???
Drew Peterson and his clown attorney did that for weeks...

Especially since she had already bonded out...her Mom and Sister could have taken her to the hospital. But no...she gets special treatment with four cop cars and the press trailing her. I am seriously sick of these three stooges.

FD not talking to the press, as he skated out of custody; saved us from hearing "I miss my children and love them very much"...so there is that...lol! moo

People will ask about terms of FD House Arrest now that he’s bonded out:

“A judge also said he must have no contact with his children and surrender his passport.

Also, he is only permitted to go to church, his doctor, lawyer’s office, and work on a case-by-case basis.”

Unsurprisingly, some Farmington residents are “creeped” out that FD is out on bail:

“I know that we are innocent until proven guilty, but there is so much damning evidence it’s kind of scary that someone be so premeditative,” Amy told News 8.

Farmington residents react to Fotis Dulos’ impending $6M bond release

Any of y’all WS give quotes in that article lol? It appears they talked to a few residents. What possible good did bonding FD actually do except pay the court system/bail bondsman? It’s not safe for anyone and I’m not talking about FD going on a murder spree. He can easily do all these things behind bars and honestly FD and MT are safer in their own cell than out in the public because the frenzy is starting to build and the outrage too

I know this is TOO much to hope for but is it possible KM gave police some information related to where JDs remains can be found?

Talk about a sobering piece of information to give to both MT and FD as they bonded out today.

for what it’s worth if JDs remains are near Pound Ridge then I’d be willing to be KM put them there. We still don’t have any intel on his whereabouts on 5/24 and 5/25. We know that FD left JDs house in her Suburban at 10:25 am. By 11:12 am the Tacoma was spotted on Merritt parkway headed straight back to Farmington. Sooooooooo....there was only 45 minutes for FD to accomplish this if true. And afterwords he was largely moving back and forth between his residence and 80 Mountain spring road until the trashbin odyssey of stupidity. If he (and possibly MT) didn’t dismember JD and throw her remains in receptacles at Albany avenue...is it possible that KM went to 80 Mountain Spring Road on the evening of 5/24 and collected JDs remains and took them to the burial site?

it’s what makes the most sense to me as cops informed FD of JD being missing sometime around the trashbin odyssey and basically had eyes on him from 5/25 on when he went to the police station and they took his cell phone. But they didn’t have eyes on KM yet until they forensically examined FD phone after they took it on 5/25.

we know that FD and MT both were on Albany avenue and eventually returned to 4Jax after 8 pm on 5/24 and presumably never left.

but KM could have moved her remains while MT and FD were on their trashbin date night (assuming JD wasn’t in those trashbags)? And taken her remains somewhere? And possibly the bike? Thoughts...just thinking out loud

they would have cell phone pings from KM’a phone to inspect where he was, UNLESS he was smart and left his cell at home or had a burner phone

Looking like MT and FD will be bonded out, I guess that means that ankle bracelets are now back in the storeroom. Also means that the pair can set up a lovenest - please correct me if I'm wrong.

  • #339
Hopefully, the fact that KM is still in custody means his attorneys and him are getting ready to flip...also hoping LE whispered in his ear "FD and MT are out and pinning it all on you"... moo

Yes if she was posted bond had the GPS installed her Mom and sister should have taken her. What is with all the fan fare??

Love the The Stooges comment!

edit: a couple extra words and a flub
