YES! So good to see you, Oceancalling! I’m off to the SWs, too.
Thank you, good to be back. Wish I had more time today, but I am coming back to SWs whenever I have a minute. Looks like LE found forensic evidence in the Raptor, too. Yes!

Just my opinion...but when he walked out of Court when her bond was set, etc...Mr. Bowman looked very, very angry. I'm guessing his knowing that his client is a flat out liar; who isn't taking any of his advice - is very, very frustrating. moo

I found the fact that he left court before MT was released and taken to the hospital to be very telling of his opinion of his client. Since she had a police escort to the hospital, wouldn't her lawyer want to be there to make sure that there was no conversations or anything taking place between her and the police that he was not present for? More things that make me go hmmmm....

OT: @thekirbyfamily you are so lucky to have gotten out of here. If my entire family and everything about my life wasn't based in CT, I would be in a uhaul on my way to Colorado (or really anywhere except CT). *sigh* someday maybe

@MarissaAlter

Another nugget in the search warrants in the Jennifer Dulos case that was not in the arrest warrants--a utility knife with possible blood on it was found in the garbage bags dumped in Hartford. Was this weapon used to kill Jennifer?
Yes and who would ever throw out a perfectly good utility knife?
Unless, it was evidence.

I’d tell her to find herself a new lawyer, if I were him.
Why does he put up with her? Must he stay?

HOW could they not realize these things? They used technology even if they weren’t experts, and he built houses and certainly knew about houses having cameras. And HOW could they think that people would shrug off a kind, devoted mom of five kids disappearing? And, of course, HOW could they do this? MOO.
I have thought this exact thing many times re: FD sheer stupidity in not including cameras in his “master plan”. Especially in the neighborhoods of concentrated wealth found in New Canaan and even Farmington where most homes most certainly will have security cameras. But FD is the smartest guy in the room so he rode his odd vintage bike with his hoodie down his face on the same the road as families and/or nannies dropping their kids at their buses, sticking out like a sore thumb. The smartest guy in the room FD was too self absorbed to think about the fact that all these school buses have cameras. All the highways have traffic cameras. I will admit that the concentration of surveillance cameras on Albany Ave was surprising to me but if someone were going to commit a crime of this magnitude they would probably want do some dang research.

In the SW, where it lists her electronic devices found from her master bedroom, it's listed with items that had blood on them. Notably, however, it doesn't specifically say those items had blood on them, as it does for every other item in the list. Is it possible they connected those items, for evidentiary value but not because they had blood on them?

Did he really traipse through her house, touching a couple things as he did so? Why? What would he gave been looking for?

Peculiar.

JMO
Some of us wondered if he may have went through her house that day, but others didn't think so because he would have wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. JMO, but I think he/she/they did go through JD's house, but then again, I don't know, I'm just guessing.

The warrant does not say there was blood on the phone and tablet. Its in a list of things and places, each specifically says they have blood except for the phone and tablet.
I think it is important that they dont say it, but maybe they just omitted by accident.

But I think that is actually what they ARE saying...See this part of the search warrant: 7DB89801-DB4D-468E-88BF-81EF6DD329A8.jpeg

He (FD, assuming he was alone) went into Jennifer’s bedroom. This absolutely does not surprise me. He isn’t a hit man, who would have killed her and left her there with the mess, and been out of there in under 5 minutes. He is a psychopath with an agenda, and a check list. He may have originally planned to kill her without a mess, but she wouldn’t let him have his way in this last act between them. But he was still looking for something in her house-I cannot imagine what that could have been; maybe it was just to violate the sanctuary that, from her writings, we know that she sought. Could he have really thought that there was something in her house that might have exonerated him, or that would have given him something of value? I guess he may have thought so.

And now I can hear NP spinning this into some sort of consensual rough sex session between them that went very wrong, because why else would he be in her bedroom? And he had to make it look like murder so Michi wouldn’t be mad at him-told her that he did it for her, and now Michi had to help him get rid of the evidence. They were going to get away with it anyway, so it wouldn’t matter. This is how outrageous I think NP is.

RSBM>I am sure you didn't mean anything bad but please do not say that JD or other victims/survivors are weak. We are NOT. We are loving, trusting people. Not weak. Unless someone had been involved with a Malignant Narc/Sociopath/Psychopath, it is very hard to imagine what the victims are up against. You only find out when it is too late. If you think you are any match for these people and can actually win, well, that doesn't happen. I have heard the hubris of a neighbor claiming that nothing like what happened to me would ever happen to her. There but for the grace of God...

To bad people, a trusting and honest person is vulnerable to deceit, and they interpret that as weak and therefore an easy target to take advantage of. Those people despise the goodness in others because they have none within themselves. I’m sure the original poster did not mean to imply that good people are weak. IMO

He puts up with her cause his fee bill is being paid on time.
I've never heard of a criminal defense atty. quitting a paying client just because the client lies. Has anyone else?

I was wondering the same thing-does he ethically have to stay, so she doesn’t appear to be as guilty as she actually is? I cannot imagine trying to represent a client who was refusing to listen to me (this is an assumption, but it appears to be a good one).

I took it to mean that the abuser thinks their victim is weak, when what they actually are is loving, trusting and kind.

True! However, I don't recall this tidbit in the warrants: "Sources said state police impounded the vehicle from a car dealership that was fixing the accident damage and found a WeatherTech floor liner with blood-like stains on it."
Interesting, because we know Fotis Dulos rarely seems to fix accident damage on his vehicles. He leave a trail of scraped-up, formerly high-end, now ugly [🤬🤬🤬] vehicles all over the Greater Hartford area. Why suddenly fixing this one?
Excellent!

Would you be so kind to tell me about where in the 400+ pages this is? Thanks in advance.

But could he have gone out a back way so no one likely would see him? If he felt sure no one saw him leave, he still could say he was at home even if not. MOO.

Wonder if someone with long hair drove the Suburban out of Welles to continue the ruse that JFd is still alive. Just maybe....they met up and switched vehicles. Not sure I believe this, but we're playing with unknowns....

Yes. They can quit. They have to make a Motion to Withdraw. Of course, rarely happens. Judges won't always approve it because it hurts the defendant. If atty knows too much, it's difficult to defend the client in court. Because an ethical atty will not promote lying. There is the Westerfield case. Atty stayed on case even though defendant knew where body was but atty never said in court that his client was innocent. Ethically, he couldn't say that.
On Westerfield's Lawyers' Conduct - TalkLeft: The Politics Of Crime
There are ethical limits to what a criminal defense lawyer can do on behalf of a client. California State Bar guidelines forbid lawyers from knowingly letting a client lie on the witness stand.

If the client insists on testifying anyway, the defense lawyer has an obligation to tell the judge in private that the client will be testifying over the objection of his counsel, according to San Diego defense attorney Gerald Blank.

AND

Throughout the Westerfield trial, Feldman and co-counsel Robert Boyce avoided the word "innocent." Instead, they aggressively challenged every prosecution theory, every prosecution witness, offering any number of possible alternative explanations for the evidence along the way.

Also, in my own civil case, ex-husband's atty has withdrawn from the case. I believe ex stupidly told him the truth and atty decided it was impossible to represent him effectively without perpetuating a lie. IME. MOO.
ETA: I think it would be hard for an atty to get permission to withdraw from a case like MT/FD. Because it does adversely affect the defendant. If lawyer stips being paid, oh well. Should have gotten a bigger retainer fee.

And my God, “a blood drop the size of a quarter”! Oh, what he did to her!

Well, in a very long ago post, someone here said that MT was caught on camera leaving WL. I don't remember if it was same person who posted that there was video of FD behind WL. That certainly came to pass.
