But if FD dies and his murder trial never takes place and therefore murder is not proved, how can the other two be tried on charges related to a murder that hasn't been proven.
Would the medical examiner just say that JD died of unknown cause?

Maybe they'd have to change it to "improper handling of a corpse," and "concealment of a corpse." There are probably some other related charges. I suppose there must be precedent for an "accessory to murder" trial to basically prove there was a murder - but boy, that seems uphill.

We need @Gitana or @Midwestmom stat!

Deercliff?!!

Could they have been led there by a suicide note? Or a by a co-conspirator, overcome by the emotions of the day?

What is in Deercliff?

If this is a stunt FD pulled as a last effort to engage his children in coming to see him on his death bed he truly is the worst human to ever walk the earth. He has taken everything that ever mattered to them including their mother, their home and their security. To take their sanity too is beyond despicable. Rot in jail or elsewhere! I hope we never see the likes if him again. Pure evil!

This might get MT talking

***Dulos had apparently gone to the garage after his new girlfriend had left to go to the grocery store.
Police say Fotis Dulos in critical condition after attempted suicide

Biting my tongue. But who would have him as a boyfriend (unless they thought he was rich)? He must have met her online. I wonder if he met her on a Sugar Daddy site and they have an "arrangement" that must end when he overdrafts her allowance check.

The state does perform due diligence but they do not make the defendant sit in jail while they complete the complicated process. That's not how it works.

Think of it this way. Millions of fraudulent mortgages were made by fraudulent mortgage brokers unbeknownst to the underwriters who did not audit 100% of their loans until too late or they were in default.

The same holds true in the surety business where a defendant partners with, in this case, another fraud that packaged FD's proposal -- including fraudulent real estate appraisals, to secure his $6 mil bond.

Sureties (as with the mortgage brokers and loan underwriters) have a relationship with their agents to produce good bond applications and this type of incident by FD is not the norm.

Lastly comes the State insurance regulator whose job is to protect the state. The insurance regulator is also reliant on the face of the certificates produced by prequalified firms authorized to do business in the State. However, the regulator does in fact audit/verify the security in a reasonable period of time. For FD's bond, -- it took about 20 days and when the bond failed the test it was immediately scheduled to be pulled at an emergency hearing.

I realise this process but I was questioning why Atty. P. let the bond application be made the way it was by Fd when they were well aware of the financial status of the properties. These aren't new foreclosure actions. Sturbridge has been in foreclosure for at least a month and 4Jx for at least 6 months if I recall. Not new news. This wasn't an issue of mortgage documents not being filed or legal databases or even town databases not being updated. There really is very little new new on the Fd financial front as the implosion has been going on now for quite awhile.

Using your mortgage fraud analogy, here we have 2 parties (Fd and Atty. P.) effectively signing off on a mortgage application known to be false.

It was clear from the comments we heard in Stamford as the bail drama was initially happening that Atty. P. and Atty Smith were quite involved with the negotiations for the bond and wouldn't this imply knowledge of the proceedings?

Simply seems odd that anyone would think inclusion of properties in foreclosure would represent acceptable collateral.

Did Atty. P. know and approve this application? Or, didn't he care if the bond company took what Fd gave them in terms of information? IDK. Seems an odd way to run a collaterally oriented business where a large bond is at stake. But it seems like an atty ought to know that what Fd did wouldn't fly?

I really wonder if he used 4Jx as part of the collateral as I don't believe he has any ownership interest in that property at this point.

Seriously, how dumb/insecure do you have to be to get in a relationship with a guy who has been accused of murder?????????? I'm flabbergasted.

It does seem odd; this morning, before all hell broke loose, I asked the question about how he gets to court-does he drive himself, or get escorted by someone from his lawyers office. Seemed like a bad idea, for lots of reasons, to me.

Right. And think how some decide to commit suicide by purposely running into another car... or doing something in public that kills others.

He shouldn't have been allowed to drive, period.

I disagree. My money is on someone who's known FD for YEARS and always had a thing for him. She's likely convinced he could NEVER do anything like this as she knows him SO WELL.

New girlfriend? I've missed that development while I've been away from WS!

jmo
I did not know he had a new girlfriend either.
How did he manage that under house arrest?

Could that have been the woman who came to the house and then left, then returned again?

Who lives there now, do you know?
Nobody. The house is an old style rambler from the 70s with an attached garage and I believe has been unused and abandoned for a number of years (its owned by Fd/FORE). The property isn't maintained really in terms of grass cutting and tree trimming based on the pictures we have previously seen here.

Fd used the garage at 585 DC to store things for his business, FORE Group. He also stored his FORE trailer on the property and we saw recently that EE stored his dirt bike at the property to.

We haven't seen recent pics of 585 DC but I have no reason to believe much has changed. If you have access to google earth or search here on WS, the property has been discussed in depth.

Wow. It does say, exactly, "his new girlfriend"!
There's no accounting for taste ... if he (hopefully) ends up in prison, I'm sure he'll receive tons of love letters from poorly adjusted women. MOO

Would that be possible due to the carbon monoxide in the body? I'm not being a smart ***. Serious question.
Obviously if I was in the position to need an organ transplant I would be happy with anything but I can honestly say once I found out it came from this guy I am not sure how I would feel. Grateful to be alive but also very torn.
