I'm drawn to a gazillion cases...I actually do criminal defense and private investigations research for a living... I am drawn to this specifically because I am a mother firstly and secondly I need to understand the truth and what actually probably happened, ...I think if JD is dead (I think she is) then we owe it to her to find the body and we owe it to us and the justice system to seek truth. Well I feel like I owe it...I know that if she is gone we need to understand why and how because it can save peoples lives in the future. Disappearances are especially intriguing to me because I think the family suffers so much without a grave to visit and without ever really knowing what happened and where the person is.

No. I can read and write in spanish, I am around spanish all day, I have lived in spain for a period of time and was able to converse and get around and by no means at all am I fluent in spanish...

If you are more comfortable in one language, would you write what MT did, in another language? It makes no sense to do so.

I conjure up reasonable doubt for a living but this case doesn't take too much pondering to see what happened. It could always be a satanic cult or a runaway yoga mom, but it's much more likely to be domestic violence.

No, writing in another language is A TERRIBLE indicator of fluency IMO. Writing is usually one of the skills people pick up first in a second language (I would say second to reading). It's intentional and requires thought, so it's much easier to write well than speak well when not fluent.

Do I think MT is fluent in English? HIGHLY likely.

Do I think she would make more sense with a translator? Of course, since she still thinks in her first language. She would be both more clear and likely candid in her first language.

Do I think she needs a translator in court? Yes, for the above reasons, as well as not being able to use fluency as a reason for an appeal.

One of the ridiculous points that struck me (and there was a lot of ridiculousness) was MT had to sit still for 2 hours at a time to charge the battery of her ankle bracelet and it was physically tiring or painful, forget exact wording. I just thought how shameful for her or her attorney to say such a thing. She could be confined to a jail cell. I hope the judge gives her the riot act for thinking she is better and deserve better treatment than anyone else in an ankle bracelet. This really irked me!!

If my first language was Spanish, and I was writing an alibi for my day with my boyfriend whose first language is Greek, but we both speak English, then yes. I'd write in English.

I feel like defense attorneys are getting a bad rap here. Most defense attorneys are not compassionate about or concerned for their clients. They are there to get paid. The best ones care very much about serving as a counter-weight to state overreach and protecting our Constitutional rights. It's not about feeling bad for your client or believing your client is innocent. It's about trying to ensure the system stays fair for everyone.

We have a bad enough reputation without people thinking we, for free, post on message boards about how beautiful our murder defendant clients are.

I just wonder if Atty. P. simply has one 4.20 moment after another because they pipe the gas through his ductwork in that old house where his offices are located? His comments fuel perpetual victimhood but also are simply BAD LEGAL ADVICE IMO PER USUAL!

It's the only explanation I can come up with and that is giving him the benefit of the doubt as his advice his simply wrong and resulted in the family renting trucks that can't be used. I hope they send him the bill.

On what planet is pulling up a moving caravan solid advice when Probate Court hasn't ruled yet and the issues involved with the estate/s are complex?

The Greek Family so far as I can tell have no legal standing in the estate situation unless there is a will and we have heard from Atty. P. that there is no Fd will. We don't know what the will of JFd states but I don't believe she left anything to the Greek Family.

Furniture, mattresses, household goods? Oh my....they don't have these things in Greece?

WHY DO IT Greek Family? Because you wanted to displace your anger about what happened to Fd or possibly get revenge on GF? Hint: GF doesn't need anything in 4Jx but that doesn't mean it was your's to take and what you did was illegal. Sorry you took advice from Atty. P. as that is usually a good path to ending up in jail IMO!

The part of the situation that is making little sense (or a lot of sense depending on your perspective I guess) was that the Greek Family were permitted to stay until Friday so long as they locked the doors when not home and didn't take anything from the house. 2 Rules. Even toddlers can usually handle 2 rules. YET, we see the Greek Family firing up the moving vans and heading for the nearest port to get all their loot out of town ASAP.

I gave GF and Atty Weinstein much credit for permitting the Greek Family to return to 4Jx but I do have to say that kicking a gift horse in the mouth is rarely something that ends well.

I do hope that the Greek Family were escorted off the property and to the local Marriott as its clear their intentions are ill and they are unable to follow the house rules.

Sad to watch this play out as it simply confirms what so many have speculated for so long about the motives and priorities and values of the Greek Family.

No she didn't, and you know what? Knowing what we know now, maybe it wasn't a terrible idea for AB not to insist she use one. All of the lies are suddenly easily questioned because of language issues.

I don't think they can "force" her to, but she can make the choice not to use one when provided. That's on her, especially if her attorney is sitting right there when it's offered.

Will there be any repercussions for this attempt? I doubt it. I cant believe that GF did not rescind the OK for them to stay until tomarrow. I sure hope she has someone watching the place until they leave. Cameras wont prevent these people. They can fill a truck and be on a plane first thing in the morning and then there is nothing that can be done.
