The Courant has obtained monthd of court monitors report from the Dulos case including May 22 when Fotis Dulos visited his wife’s New Canaan home. Two days later she was gone:

At around 5 p.m., Dulos and the children left to go to nearby Grace Farms. The privately run park was a favorite spot for Dulos. The farm has an underground basketball court that he often rented for the children when their visits took place in New Canaan. Over the 18-month period from the divorce filing, several of the visits were at a state park in Shelton and on a few occasions Dulos rented a place called the ZEN House in Stamford.

When Grace Farms closed, the group returned to Jennifer’s house on Welles Lane. They sat at a table outside, and ate the salads and bread that Dulos had brought with him from Avon, playing a game of “Would You Rather” as they ate, according to the monitor’s report. After the kids ate some of the chocolate cake Dulos and some of the children cleaned the table and “put away the food and cake.”

In her notes, the monitor doesn’t specify what “putting away” means, though the prosecution — in building a case against Dulos — said the DNA from Dulos was evidence he was there the day of the attack. The monitor for the May 22 visit wasn’t Dennis Puebla, who had supervised the majority of visits over the previous 18 months, but a substitute, Sidnee Streater, who would later become a key witness for state police.

Stamford State’s Attorney Richard Colangelo, recently named chief state’s attorney, has said in court that Dulos did not go into the house on May 22 based on witness statements, including Streater’s and the children’s nanny, Lauren Almeida, who was present for parts of the May 22 visit.

It was a key point for the state because Colangelo said Dulos’ DNA was found mixed with his estranged wife’s on the kitchen faucet. His DNA also was found on the inside door knob of the mudroom door which leads into the garage area.

As Dulos and the children were finishing dinner in the backyard it is unclear how long Farber Dulos was at the house. At some point, the couple’s youngest child, who had not been present for most of the visit, returned and had cake with her siblings. Streater noted at 7:07 p.m. that Jennifer “came outside and prepared” one of the boys to leave for lacrosse practice. After she left, Dulos and the other children started playing basketball again.

The game lasted until 7:37 p.m. when Jennifer told the children it was time for them to come inside and take showers and finish their homework.

After hugging their father, the children went inside.

Dave Altimari and the Hartford Courant have been in NP's "corner" throughout this revelation of spousal abuse and murder since the beginning. DA doesn't do research, IMO, it appears he simply writes stories about the information NP GIVES him. Altimari might as well be paid as assistant defense attorney. I'm disgusted that he chose to write about this visit in an effort to normalize Fd for NP.

He did, however, also show that JFd wasn't a drugged out mother who was incapable of parenting as Fd tried to depict her. She was a concerned mother who conducted the daily lives of her children including providing entertainment at home, a schedule for homework and sleep, a chauffeur for sports practices, and a center around which the kids had stability in their lives. She wasn't antagonistic toward Fd in front of the children. She remained flexible to Fd's changing schedules and impetuous demands...here's a cake and dinner...serve us. JFd was focused on the well-being of her children. Fd was the clown who bounced in for good times and was gone.

Fd's family needs to recognize the sacrifice and restraint JFd had for the kids and quit trying to paint a halo on Fd. Fd was the sixth child who never grew up, IMO...MOO.

"Ms. Almeida noticed the rear mudroom door which led outside was unlocked." If Accomplice #1 drove JFd's Suburban out the garage and then parked at Waveny for 40 minutes and then left via Tacoma northbound on the Merritt, did Accomplice #2 leave out the mudroom door and through the woods and forgot to lock the mudroom door behind him/her? If there was only one co-conspirator present at 69 Welles on 5/24/19, did he or she go out the mudroom door to pick up the bike first and then re-enter forgetting to lock the mudroom door behind him/her before getting into the Suburban?

Why two ponchos?

IMO, JFd saw the shaved head and knew what was coming. I re-read AW#3 understanding why JFd might have wanted to leave for NYC right away and let LA drop the children off to school on Friday morning - JFd knew this was the Memorial Day weekend in which Fd had "lost" his request to "reintroduce" his children to MT and her daughter, by court order. See May 17th court date plus fender bender in Tolland involving MT for the reaction of MT. MT was losing Fd because a younger, prettier, smarter, more presentable AC was being prepped but MT couldn't put her finger on who or how...just that time was running out. All or nothing on Memorial Day weekend. MOO.

Fd's AW#3 page 29 of 35:

  • On 05/23/19 Jennifer discussed the possibility of Ms. Almeida staying overnight at 69 Welles Lane as Jennifer had an early doctor appointment in the city the next morning. Jennifer ultimately decided she would stay in New Canaan, bring the children to school per usual, then leave for the appointment. She told Ms. Almeida it would not be necessary for her to stay at Welles Lane that night. Jennifer also told Ms. Almeida she was planning on taking the Range Rover to the city because it was smaller and easier to park than the Suburban.
  • On 05/24/19 Ms. Almeida arrived at 69 Welles Lane at 11:30 AM. As usual, she opened the center bay garage door via the keypad and immediately noticed the Range Rover was still parked in the garage while the Suburban was gone. Upon entering the kitchen, she noticed Jennifer's handbag was on the floor in the doorway between the mudroom and kitchen, and she found Jennifer's unopened granola bar and mug of tea on the kitchen counter. As she washed Jennifer's mug, Ms. Almeida noticed the paper towel roll near the sink needed replacement. She went to the pantry for a new roll and found only two fresh rolls were left. Ms. Almeida found this "incredibly strange" because just the night before she had placed a brand-new pack of twelve rolls in the pantry. Ms. Almeida wrote, "I sat there and wondered what had happened last night that they used ten rolls of towel rolls."
  • After picking up four of the children, as the fifth went directly to a friend's home, Ms. Almeida returned to Welles Lane and fed the children lunch in the kitchen. At 12:43 PM, Ms. Almeida sent a text message to Jennifer which went unanswered. As she and children prepared to leave the home, Ms. Almeida noticed the rear mudroom door which led outside was unlocked. This door was routinely locked unless the children were playing in the backyard. After locking this door, Ms. Almeida sent another text message to Jennifer at 1:10 PM that she would be arriving in New York City with the children at 2:30 PM. This message also went unanswered.

Thoughts from the commute this morning:

FD left JFD's Suburban in reverse with the parking lights on. Was this on purpose to emulate an abduction?

FD dumped loads of evidence on Albany Avenue is Hartford, a low-income, high crime neighborhood. Was this also on purpose to mislead investigators as to the type of suspect they'd be looking for?

If both of these things were on purpose, what sort of body disposal method/site would fit with these two scenarios? What would fit with these scenarios and also fit with our known timeline?

If FD took these purposeful actions to make the crime look like something it wasn't, would it follow that he would take actions in the disposal to make the crime appear the same way in case JFD's body was found?
I think dropping of "trash" on Albany was planned by FD and crew. Being the snob that FD is, he thought no one really cared about this area. Opinion was of bums and drug users in that area, thought whatever he was throwing a way would blend in with rest of garbage. I think that's also the reason FD used smaller bags. Would FD and crew choose to dispose of Jennifer in same kinda area? IMO, that depends. Was Jennifer dismembered (sorry) or was her body intact? Million dollar question. I think disposal of her body, depended on state of her body.

If it was intentional to leave the suburban running in reverse to emulate a possible abduction of JF, it is certainly possible that MT was the one to do this as she could have passed for JF going for a run with cap on, etc. So if that were the case, who picked her up? When was the Suburban left there?

I know this has been discussed previously, but it still baffles me especially finding out about the Suburban was left running in reverse as stated in FD’s AW. Was the emergency brake on then to stop it from moving?

ETA: just reread AW. It was just the running lights. How long would they stay on for? Did the vehicle’s engine shut off then?

IMO the timing of ‘when’ the Suburban was left is very important.

Question: Was it stated anywhere that the car was running? You can shut most cars off while still in gear, you just can't start them.

That's another thing I've been wondering, and IMO, the state of her body is highly dependent on WHEN the body was disposed of.

Do you believe that FD gained entrance through the mudroom, still ambushing Jennifer, but now the garage door is closed?

This is an intriguing theory; I’m still not sure the AWs support the accomplice theory but this is food for thought. For instance there is no information about KMs movements all day. MT seems to have her own alibi all set up but we have not heard much substance about where KM was during that day.

eww, I like your scope of deeper thinking and
creative head scratchin'.
Have you exhausted the reasons for someone
going to Birch St., Bristol on the same day as
the murder??
This is such an out of the way place for someone living in Farmington's upper crust areas. They just don't go over to the Middle St./ESPN area. It's such a mixed bag of little
old houses, small manufacturing places,
all the dumps and chemical dumping sites.
Suburban residents may go through there to get some other place, but few go there with a purpose. Sat. afternoon 2:30pm. Purpose?

correct- I've not seen anywhere that the car engine was
running.

Yes. And most "adult" actions were taken by Jennifer. She kept to the monitor time. She is mentioned first intervening in a fight. She readies a kid for practice even when she was not the primary parent on duty. She calls time to end the visit. Not too late, but not so soon that it was before giving Fotis a chance to do so. The only adult things I can think of for Fotis is bringing food and gifts, and planning somewhat, although I don't know what plan B was if he were not allowed in back.

anecdotal- but I've had my home burglarized
3 times and not once did the perp lock any doors behind them. They just don't take the time to do it, sometimes they even leave the exit doors open. IME.

IMO, given that it appears there was quite of bit of premeditation and planning involved by the conspirators (head shaving, repairing Mercier bicycle to return it to good functional condition, creation of and photocopying of alibi script, set up of alibi phone call and supposed KM morning meeting, purchase of clear plastic ponchos, insistence that PG work away from the Farmington area for the day, use of PG's vehicle instead of FD's own, among many other acts), it seems to me that if FD and the conspirator's intent was to emulate an abduction, FD would have planned better and taken JFd's purse along, leaving it or at least some of its contents not far from her car to indicate she'd been abducted and robbed. And if FD wanted it to appear that she'd been abducted for purposes of sexual assault, FD would have disabled JFd's phone immediately after removing her from the car, rather than nearly 40 minutes after arriving at Lapham Rd.

I suspect the reason the phone was not disabled immediately, but was instead left activated until FD was ready to depart for his own neck of the woods is because FD wanted to be aware if anyone tried to contact JFd while he was completing the transfer of evidence from the Suburban to the Toyota Tacoma, so he'd know if the search for her might already be beginning. FD seemed aware enough of JFd's planned schedule that day to lie in wait to surprise her immediately after she dropped the children off at school and then to clean up and leave the scene before 10:30, when someone else who knew her schedule might start checking around to see why she wasn't where she had planned to be. As FD completed the transfer from JFd's Suburban to the Toyota Tacoma, he likely knew he was now in a time (after 10:30 am) when alarms could be raising about JFd's whereabouts and that caused him some measure of anxiety.

IMO, the running lights being left on and the Suburban's transmission being left in "Reverse" were signs of panic due to fear of discovery. I think FD pulled the Suburban alongside or behind the Toyota Tacoma to transfer the bagged-up and zip-tied body, garbage bags full of bloody evidence of cleanup, the cargo liner from the Suburban, and the bicycle and then he wanted to get out of there as quickly after that multi-step transfer as possible, so he pulled the Suburban up into the place where it was ultimately found, forgot to put it in "Park," jumped out, and quickly ran to the Toyota Tacoma and took off. My guess is that he didn't even disable JFd's phone in that spot, but pulled somewhere else nearby to do it as he didn't want to be proximate to the Suburban while he did that extra step which would from that point on leave him unaware if anyone was trying to contact JFd by phone.

IMO, the conspirators chose Albany Ave as the area to dump the garbage bags because they knew there were plenty of individual trash receptacles in a close area, they knew that a lot of shady stuff goes on in the area without raising unusual suspicion, and they suspected that - even if one or two of the bags were opened, the person digging through the trash to find something of value wouldn't concern himself or herself with discovery of signs of criminality. IMO they did not put the bags there to throw suspicion upon others; I think they just thought the bags so far removed from the home JFd disappeared from would simply blend into the background in that area until they were picked up by the waste management truck.

IMO, I think it significant that the altered license plates weren't similarly treated, which leads me to suspect that they were boxed up and placed in the storm drain for someone else to retrieve them for some intended use.

Idk if it was ever really discussed in MSM, but we noticed here early on that FD's hair was cropped very short when he was arrested. His SM photos all had longer hair. It was theorized this was to limit the possibility of hair evidence being left behind by him.

This is an older pic from around 2017 and his hair is shaved the same shortness

This is exactly what I expected to see. My friends mother who was stabbed to death by her estranged ex had let her guard down because days earlier he’d reached out with kindness and set up a time to meet at the house so they could go through their stuff together. That’s the day he murdered her and thar monster was plotting her death the whole time just like FD was plotting Jennifer’s death the whole time he set up this fake “oops”. It’s sickening to see the details, but sadly not surprising,
Yes agree - no surprise - cunning and manipulative - reminiscent of the "spider and the fly". There are many of us on this board who have had experience with this toxic personality type/disorder in our relationships. He channeled the "good Fotis" behavior and she saw a glimpse of the man she fell in love with, and thought maybe just maybe things will be okay. Tragic beyond words.
