Something popped into my head about Michelle Troconis.

People I know who had children with abusive exes (who were not abusive to the point that my friend and/or family court agreed that the children should not see the abusive person) all preferred it when ex was in a relationship.

The exes were putting on a show for his great a parent they were. The parents I knew generally were willing to deal with the misrepresentation of themselves to their exes' new interest on the grounds that "She'll catch on eventually," and "At least he is actually parenting while he pretends he did that all along." The parents I knew thought the situation on balance was better for their kids when exes were involved and showing off their parenting. They just hoped the act lasted through the crucial development years. This is also angering, to put it mildly, that Mr. "what, fatherhood doesn't end at conception?" is suddenly going for father of the year, but in balance, it's better than him continuing to not care.

Also, new girlfriends auditioning for step-mom court the kids as hard as the dad, I have heard. I know parents who feel a combination of anger and relief that the new girlfriend is so fun.

I guess there was no act? Fotis didn't try to pretend he didn't terrify his kids by smashing up skis? Michelle didn't spend hours playing repetitive games of Uno, Connect 4, and Monopoly?

Also, children do connect it (and exploit it) when parents are trying to impress their new friend with their parenting. For that reason, people I know have found their kids like it when their exes are with someone. For instance, I have a friend whose ex (who literally lived in an apartment above a row of stores including one that that sells office supplies) refused to buy poster board and work on a school project during a visit because that was what Mom was sop posed to do with all that child support. Enter new girlfriend, and suddenly, Dads house was the best ever for all kinds of school projects using every item in the freaking store.

It is extremely angering and painful when exes and their new friends pour it on to court the kids. But there is a degree of it that is actually an improvement in behavior. (Of course, it is abusive when it slides to parental alienation or as amazingly far as having the kids lie.) Often, it is ultimately better when exes put on a new face.

I often feel like Michelle is not wrapped too tight. I think her lies and astonishing statements like, "I was not cleaning Jennifer," indicate a creepy disconnect from the seriousness of Jennifer's murder, in which she participated. I am also now thinking that because she is not wrapped too tight, Fotis never put on the super parent act because she didn't need it.

And she never put on the super step parent act because she couldn't. Few adults, but NO kids are impressed with posting pictures of a crotch grab.

Fotis would have loved it if the kids were demanding more Michelle time. AFAIK, the kids had no interest in her. She couldn't be fake super step mom. But that defect was made up by her complete acceptance (lack of getting the inhumanity) of murdering wives.

Something is really wrong with that murderer. And it's not a language problem.

(MOO, and based entirely on my speculation that the kids did not seem to clamor for more Michelle.)
***
This is insightful and well said. I’m one of those parents who is happy my ex is in a new relationship because it is better for my kids. Any normal at least somewhat maternal other mom is generally going to be a good influence in the other household. MT clearly did not fit that bill. JD’s adamance that she should never be around the 5 kids speaks volumes. ETA IMO

do we know what (how many?) car(s?) KM has?

Can I post a screenshot of KM's cars or is that against the rules? It's taken from a public tax record, so I believe anyone could access it.

Ways Michelle Troconis MAY HAVE Conspired To Commit
MURDER
Add your thoughts to this List:

1) Went out and bought Heavy Duty Trash Bags

2) Agreed to provide FD's alibi morning of 5/24

3) May have been chase vehicle/lookout for FD

4) Discussed execution of JFD with FD

5) Discussed and helped plan for body disposal

6) Supported and co-ordinated w/ KM details
of murder and aftermath

MOO- Add your own thoughts

Great list....adding to it besides the 8. "Date night on Albany Avenue"....
9) Attempting to circumvent EE from taking the Tacoma from 80 MS (removed the keys..."She doesn't know why..."

10) Accompanying Fd while he takes the Tacoma to be detailed

11) Leaving water ski party after word of LE searching Albany Avenue reaches them by word-of-mouth

12) Obviously jealous of JFd as evidenced by her reaction to the fact that Fd was at JFd's NC home and Fd hid that fact from her.

KM might have had clients that owed him $, and he might have struck a deal with them, but that would be as unethical as a lawyer could be, so not sure he gets anything out of fessing up to something like that, (speculation) IMO. seems like out of a frying pan straight into the flames of Hades, IMO.
KM is as unethical as a lawyer could be; fessing up and getting much less jail time might suit him just fine!

I think that's okay as it's been done for Fd and JFd.

To be clear I have not called anyone a TROLL, although I do think that this thread has been hit by Trolls since the death of Fd. I have however characterised various posts as being TROLLISH in nature and I very much stand by that statement.

Also to be clear, I have said that so far as AWs1-3 for MT state, that IMO MT has no alibi that has been corroborated by LE - MT right now has 3 kinda/sorta/maybe alibis that make her look like a pathological liar and someone who was actively doing her best to make sure LE made zero progress.

So, where precisely was MT on 5/23, 24 or 25? WE DON'T KNOW. My guess is that LE knows quite well where MT was during these time frames and eventually so will we. Will we see a murder charge in an AW4 for MT? At this point little would surprise me about MT or this tragic case. My suspicion is that when all the evidence is put on the table that we will see that MT is as much a part of the actual planning and execution of the murder of JFd as Fd. That is a bet I would be willing to put some $$$ on!

So far we have MT on camera at various points in the AWs so these data points at least are real for purposes of her timeline, but the reality is that LE has chosen to share insufficient information IMO to create full timeline for MT.

LE has been consistent about stating that MT has been uncooperative from the beginning of this tragic case and that she lied on an ongoing basis. Her New Atty can spin all day long about her knowledge of english but IMO the questions asked were 'at best' done in English that a someone with a 5th grade mastery of english could handle.

About the only thing we can say about MT is that she consistently lied to LE for nearly 3 months and the only time she provided any useful information was when confronted with a picture and she was generally uncooperative.

The AWs for MT just have snippets of the MT word salad nonsense where she wouldn't or couldn't even say whether she had even seen Fd on the morning of 5/24 or whether she drove her daughter to school or picked her up. MT wasted LE time and resources during a critical time in the investigation and IMO should have been charged for this ongoing lying. We can guesstimate that the 3 MT interviews with LE lasted anywhere from 2-3 hrs each and so we will no doubt be treated to a video montage of ongoing MT lies that went on for months at a time when LE was simply trying to find the body of the victim here, JFd.

I have been on WS for years, as I was deeply involved in another case regarding multiple murders.

That thread was nasty, with trolls throwing insults left and right, and about 3 posters being "know it alls" about the entire subject of the case, which, resulted in a television series on a cable channel, and some posters IN said television series.

I have found this very threat to be gentle, sensitive to the family members, looking for exact precise information to discuss, in a very complex case.

My all time favorite, of any and all posters is afitzy. (I think afitzy is a she) She is totally passionate about the case and sensitive to the truth and evidence at all times. she is knowledgable and approachable, but deeply caring, compassionate and a delight to read her posts. She, I will openly say it, is my true favorite on this entire thread, and, for that matter, in all my years of reading and contributing posts to Websleuths.

@auspex, great idea! Yes, KM info can come in because he has been arrested. We haven't been sleuthing him much due to the limited information but if you have any information from public sources then by all means as Atty. P. says, 'BRING IT ON'!

We have done the public vehicle records previously for FORE and Fd and had searched for MT (didn't find anything but now that she has a Honda 200 motorcycle then IT SHOULD BE REGISTERED IMO!).

Look forward to seeing what you dig up!

This seems to have some convenient inaccuracies.

Troconis and Fotis were seeing each other in 2015, per Fotis.

Who knows when they met? And why isn't that story told? Possibly because it is earlier than 2015.

Most disturbing is the portrayal of the marriage and divorce as a back and forth feedback spiral. It was abuse. I think we already had the "driving each other crazy," discussion. This article says the same thing, but hides it in stylistic writing.

Abuse is abuse. It is not a "bad marriage." It is not "driving each other crazy," it is not a spiraling feedback loop."

GRRR. This is infuriating.
Also this:

“she often uses a translator in court”

No, she NEVER used a translator in court until her last appearance.

JS must be thrilled and clanking champagne glasses with Mama A. Or he paid the author something under the table.

This is how it starts people...MT waltzes off unscathed. Let’s hope this comes back to bite them.

@afitzy commented on Michelle Troconis:

" My suspicion is that when all the evidence is put on the table that we will see that MT is as much a part of the actual planning and execution of the murder of JFd as Fd. That is a bet I would be willing to put some $$$ on! "

Remember folks, you heard it first right here.
I agree with that excellent post (I agree with everything @afitzy writes, as she/he is BRILLIANT), except I think it goes further with MT.

As I've posted before (will try to find the posts), I think MT was the main and initial planner of Jennifer's murder. She had the most to gain from it. And as I said earlier, I think she instigated Fd to do it for "them". Convinced him.

Jennifer didn't want MT around the kids - for good reason. She was dangerous, in many ways.

@acutename, interesting theory. My guess is that KM has a very 'creative accounting system' with his clients.

Wouldn't it be curious to find out that KM client base might include a local car rental company or used car dealer or even a repair shop that sells used cars on the side or what about a junk dealer or yard? I do wonder now that the KM law license has been suspended whether it makes it easier for LE to investigate KM. I realise atty 'privilege' is a very tricky subject and I have to admit to being curious about how LE even started its investigation of KM to begin with? I also am quite curious about whether South Windsor PD were excluded from the early investigation (also perhaps FPD) due to their known connections to KM and how they chose to handle (or not handle) the investigation into KM STBX gas can crowbar person attempted break in/threatening behaviour?

I do wonder if local PD corruption and possible known connections to players in this case is making it hard for CSP to get to the bottom of what is going on?

Investigating an attorney has to be challenging but then when you factor in the client connections to the local scene and possible involvement of clients (knowingly or unknowingly) then things can turn into a hot mess quite quickly I would think in terms of LE investigation.

It's a dishonest article. If I had time, I'd take each line and comment on it.

It tries to paint a portrait of a 'rich-appearing' (no, she didn't look rich!) single woman (she was married, with a child from a prior relationship) with allure and charm (insert her crotch-grabbing photos here) who pulled Fd away from a supposedly sad marriage -- rather than a sinister, house-wrecking married druggie mother with a very troubled background, who got involved with an abusive serial-philanderer who did not care about the wellbeing of his children, and who was married to a woman of real wealth: a wife whom Michelle Troconis clearly perceived as being in her (MT's) way.

The timing of the article is everything. If the intent were just to get facts out, it would wait for the facts to come out!

No, this article is just to try to make MT look good before trial, and the info came from her side only. It's important that we counter the many falsehoods in it.

Agree that this whole series has been infuriating and filled with inaccuracies and acts as a subtly disguised puff piece for FD but most of all MT.
Part I continually emphasized how “good looking” FD was, even going so far as to say “the [JD romance] story only works if he is so good looking”, and now part III goes on about how “rich” MT looks and how we don’t know how she looked in her “natural habitat” of beaches and hotels, suggesting something even more alluring than her courtroom catwalks.
Except we do, because pictures of her in bathing suits and waterskiing and “Moncler ski suits” HAVE been all over the internet, and they’re not exactly flattering.
Let me tell you something, real rich people don’t trot around all dolled up and trashy like MT. Real rich people wear their favorite Vineyard Vines T-shirt’s and Intimissimi undergarments.

If the author had done any real research, he would have focused less on the tacky and untruthful performance that MT is delivering to gullible gawkers like himself, and more on the true human cost and conspirators behind this horrific tragedy.

Very well said. The last paragraph should be in a re-write of this article, but with the truth this time, instead of a one-sided pre-trial sorry excuse for MT.

The irony of the author's mis-portrayal is that yes, Michelle Troconis desperately wanted to appear to be rich, and wanted to live the life of the truly wealthy -- so she latched on to a man who had no real wealth of his own, but who was conveniently married to a woman with real wealth.

It was no secret that the money that she (MT), her daughter, and the Dulos family lived off of came from the Farbers. She knew it well.

Thus the motive for murder: to get that wealth for herself.

@nickynoo, strongly suggest reading the AWs again to answer this question and then imagine walking into a darkish garage with 4 children as distractions who just wanted their lunch and then wondering how likely it would be that LA would have seen anything out of the ordinary as her focus was on the children getting lunch and then dealing with the trip to NY given the situation with the cars.

NCPD was well trained enough to notice the signs of blood spatter and splatter and pooling evidence but even with their training they called in the Crime Lab folks immediately for assistance.

Dried blood on dark cars IMO would look somewhat similar to mud or even possibly dark hardened dust. CT Spring was wet and muddy. We don't know how often the JFd cars were washed but if she was jogging at Waveny and parking on Lapham (as has been suggested) then IMO dirt and dust would have been present in some amount on all of the vehicles, it was just that kind of Spring.

I would think that we will get a description from the Crime Lab folks about what exactly the garage looked like after it had been sprayed with Luminol or similar chemical.

Its baffling to me to suggest that there was lack of blood in evidence in the 69/71 Welles garage as reading through the arrest warrants makes it quite clear that blood was in multiple locations on the vehicles, floor, ceiling and walls. It was a blood bath that was cleaned up but when processed by the Crime Lab it became clear the extent of the blood loss that had occurred from the victim, JFd.

The only other person that I'm aware of other than perhaps you that questioned the extent of the victims blood loss in the 69/71 Welles Garage was Atty. P. and his questioning comment got a good 'eye ball roll' from Atty Colangelo in Court IMO as the idea was as ludicrous then as it is now IMO.

MOO
What's maddening (to me) is that would-be murderers might actually get away with their crimes if they are successful enough in covering up by thorough cleaning, burying or otherwise obfuscating their nefarious schemes.

I understand our system is based upon innocence until proven guilty, but the preponderance of evidence of the planning and subsequent deceptive actions after the fact by main parties in this case is quite overwhelming. For one to nit-pick as to why the nanny didn't perceive blood in the cleaned up garage is preposterous. IMO

*Not a fan fan of the way he wrote this. I think he should stick to sports, but here’s some of #3

Michelle Troconis was 42 when she met Fotis Dulos, in 2016. She had been all over the world, worked various jobs, been involved in affairs and breakups, married, divorced, and had a child, yet here she was, in the middle of life, behaving no differently than she might have at 20, sleeping with a married man, a father of five, moving into his house before he was divorced, engaging in the sort of love triangle that invariably ends in disaster...
Fotis and Michelle probably met in a hotel or spa, being habitués of high-end resort life. They looped the same wheel of mountains and beaches, dining rooms, and marble lobbies. It was only a matter of time before the dealer placed the jack of diamonds beside the queen of hearts. A lift line in Colorado, say—Troconis owned an apartment in Vail, according to Crimefeed—at the foot of one of those preposterously named black-diamond runs, Genghis Khan or Dragon’s Teeth...
Michelle Troconis had led a similar, all-over-the-world kind of life, the wayward existence of the wealthy. Though South American—Spanish is her first language; she often uses a translator in court—she was born (in 1974) in Tennessee, according the Daily Mail, while her father, Carlos Troconis, a cardiac surgeon, was in residency at the children’s hospital in Memphis. He later worked in Italy and the Dominican Republic, according to the Daily Mail, but spent most of his career in Venezuela, where Michelle grew up in the 1980s. Her mother, Marisela Arreaza, is a counselor...
What did Michelle Troconis look like in her natural habitat, at a beach hotel or on a ski slope, in a bikini or Moncler snowsuit? It’s hard to get a sense, because these days you only see her on the way to or from court, surrounded by lawyers, reporters, and cops. She looks run-down, put-upon, although, during one court visit, she flashed a smile as she entered a conference room and you got a sense of the kind of fun she must have been for Fotis. She has long dark hair and wide-set, almond eyes, high cheekbones, and a hard, angular face. She looks pampered. She looks like the citizen of that nation that exists everywhere and nowhere, above and beyond all other nations, a republic of the first class and top drawer that exists beyond restriction and border. She looks rich.
She had done some work for Fotis at the Fore Group, fixed up the Web site and so forth. The fact that all this was happening while Jennifer was trying to raise her children only added to and complicated the pain.

The marriage had not been good for a while. There was estrangement, distance between the couple even when they shared a bed. Jennifer knew Fotis had been running around, cheating. His Facebook page was filled with pictures of women, various and sundry, clinging to him, or smiling happily into the smartphone.

Why did it take her so long to ask for a divorce?
Because she’d been afraid of how Fotis would react.
“I know that filing for divorce, and filing this motion will enrage him,” she wrote in divorce documents. “I know he will retaliate by trying to harm me in some way.... During the course of our marriage, he told me about sickening revenge fantasies and plans to cause physical harm to others who have wronged him.”
But there was no way to ignore the affair with Troconis. When Jennifer confronted him in March 2017, Fotis admitted the affair. He said he’d been involved with Troconis for about a year. He said he had real feelings for her...
Divorces feed on their own blood. The worse one is, the worse that’s said in court. The worse that’s said, the worse it gets. It’s a negative-feedback loop, a spiral. For the first few months, the Dulos parents continued to share custody. Fotis got his kids for family dinners and Greek lessons and water-ski practice right up to the moment Jennifer learned that Michelle and her daughter were living in the Farmington house. From that point, the divorce shifted from mildly to historically contentious. “There were,” according to the Stamford Advocate, “more than 300 motions filed by the estranged couple during their contentious divorce battle.… Data shared with Hearst Connecticut Media by the Judicial Branch in July 2019 showed that the Dulos’ divorce case could be among the most litigious of all divorce cases in Connecticut.”

For Jennifer, there was one overriding issue: custody. She did not want her children living in the same house as Michelle Troconis and her daughter, did not want those families mingled. In arguing her case, Jennifer cited Fotis’s “history of controlling, volatile and delusional behavior,” telling the court that she feared for her children’s safety. As the nanny told police, Fotis had tried to run Jennifer over with the car and had chased her through the house. Jennifer said Fotis told her older children that she had hired someone to break his legs. Questioned about this, Fotis corrected his wife, saying that what he actually told the children was that their mother “could have hired someone from the Mafia to break his legs.”
By the end of 2018, Judge Donna Heller of the Connecticut State Superior Court was presiding over the case. Judge Heller appointed a psychologist to monitor the family. Fotis’s visits with his children were observed by a court-appointed counselor, who reported to the judge. There were between 20 and 25 such fishbowl sessions. There is pathos in the picture one gets of Fotis playing basketball with his kids as a social worker takes notes.

Judge Heller established certain redlines, which Fotis promptly crossed. One was about Troconis. She was not allowed to be present during any of Fotis’s visits with his children. Fotis brought Michelle anyway, then told his kids to lie about it. Naturally, Jennifer found out—what’s worse than asking a child to be disloyal to his or her mom?—and Judge Heller restricted Fotis’s visitation rights. According to the Stamford Advocate, “The judge concluded that Fotis Dulos was pressuring his children to lie in order to advance his argument, and that in at least one instance, his actions constituted ‘emotional abuse.’”

In March 2018, the judge awarded Jennifer “sole physical custody of the children and the final word on all decisions involving them,” according to the Hartford Courant. She also ordered Fotis to undergo regular therapy until he “understood the ramifications of the improper requests that he has made of the children to lie on his behalf.”
Fotis became increasingly desperate in these weeks, angry, then paranoid. He believed that Jennifer, her lawyer—a Greenwich attorney named Reuben Midler—and Judge Heller were conspiring against him. He filed a complaint, asking that Judge Heller be removed. He said she was biased against him because he was Greek. When Fotis asked that his children be in Farmington on the weekend of April 28, 2019, to celebrate Greek Easter, Judge Heller said no. According to Jennifer’s lawyer, some 15 members of the Troconis family would be present.

“Then the children will not have Easter,” said Fotis. “That’s great.”

“Your Honor, I am sorry, but why do I always get the raw end of the stick?,” Fotis asked Judge Heller on another occasion. “I really want to see my children. I have spent two percent of the time with them since January. I’m not Charles Manson...”
Murder in Fairfield County – Air Mail
Excellent summary.
Love that last bit " I am not Charles Manson" Oh, but he is and worse....

and to the author of that rubbish article that
sds71 posted, someone should send the author the picture of Michelle Troconis at her first arrest- and ask him if she "looked RICH" ?
Don't think so. She looked like yesterday's lunch soaked in drugs.

Respectfully, that is not my theory at all. I have previously posted that the MEs opinion is just that, albeit an expert one. But it is something that needs to be proved, does it not? I know its not how many posters approach the evidence, but I like to turn it over and test it. I'm sorry if my approach doesn't suit you or others.
Yes the ME's opinion is an expert one, but not only that, but wouldn't LE/investigators have taken photographs of the blood spatter, splatter, etc., possibly with and/or without it being lit up with Luminol or whatever they used for this purpose? Is it possible there may also be photographs with evidence markers that show where specific things were, possibly including blood spatter, splatter, pools of blood? Or possibly pictures of a clump of hair that tested DNA positive for JFd or a fingernail of hers torn off that was positive for her DNA. Maybe there is also photos taken by LE/investigators that show other things that we have no idea about at this point? After all, Prosecutor Colangelo has said numerous times now that even HE has not been given the discovery by CSP.

So, to sum it up, I think IMO that it's a little early in this investigation to try and doubt and/or discredit the ME's expert opinion. Also, I'm guessing it's more than likely that there will be others who may testify as experts, for example, investigator, cell phone expert and possibly even more.
