The Weed St video was Fotis on his vintage bike wearing a hoody heading from Waveny to Welles Lane.

But it says JFD's black vehicle. No mention of the bike?

A couple of thoughts as I've read the Shoe-horn motion for the 3rd time.
  • First, this is a grab it and throw it motion for the defense. It is apparent that Schoenhorn doesn't want to go through the information, but wants to make it sound as if LE is hiding something from him.
  • Many of the things he requests have nothing to do with the charges against his client. For instance the cost of the investigation (which he will opine that the State is trying to use MT to justify the expense), the accusations of strip search photos (Really? Which he accused LE of sharing the photos within the department), and all maps and diagrams used during the search (?????).
  • JS wants LE to create an index, spreadsheet, or something to make it easy for him to find information. This is busywork for the police. And, it gives JS an opportunity to accuse LE of hiding things if an item is omitted or incorrectly categorized in JS's opinion.
  • All exculpatory evidence...the robot???? What other exculpatory evidence could exist. Was Michi getting her nails done while the truck was being washed? She didn't return phone calls from the police because she was getting injections? Beats me.
If I remember correctly, JS said in one hearing he hadn't had time to review the two groups of evidence that had already been given to him. Perhaps if he spent less time talking to the press, he'd have more time to read the files and decide what he needs to actually defend his client from the charges she faces.

What he seems to be seeking is something to complain publicly that MT is being unfairly bothered by the police. We should all just say, "Poor Michi" and forget that she lied through 3 interviews with LE. She never admitted that FD was not at 4JX on the morning of May 24, 2019. She continued to protect him and, thus, help him in his defense. She lied to LE and helped him get rid of evidence.

Are we to forget that she was with him on Albany Avenue; that she followed him to the car wash and returned him to the car wash; that they met with Andrew Bowman (why and who paid for it); that she took the employees keys from the Tacoma in order to prevent him from taking it home with him; that she brought supplies that were used to clean the truck and the bathrooms (Why did they need cleaning?).....on and on and on.

SMH....Edited to add: And what does FD's autopsy and photos etc., have do with charges against Michi...or the family study....with the Sky View search????
Fishing or obfuscation??? Regardless, this is a frivolous motion, IMO...MOO.

Okay. I am tad lost here.
Does this indicate he drove down Welles Lane, then traveled to Weed St. to pick up his bike and back to Lapham Rd?
Didn't Weed St. back up to Welles Lane?

I'm confused too. Is this possibly the video of the OTHER black Suburban, parked on a street? 2 miles from Welles....

See pages 19 & 21 of the search warrant.

7:31 AM - Weed St, New Canaan; residential surveillance falls within 20 min bike route from Waverly Park section of Lampham Rd -- location Toyota was staged to 69 Welles Lane -- -direction rider is towards.

7:40 AM - School bus traveling.... turnoff where Jennifer's 2017 Suburban would later be found abandoned.

8:05 AM - Jennifer driving eastbound along Welles Lane towards her residence after dropping kids off at school--arrives home.

10:25 AM - Suspect leaves the scene driving away from Welles Lane driving Jennifer's 2017 Suburban (transporting JD body).

Using media to push the CT taxpayers expense $$$$$$$$ for the investigation has long been part of JR's playbook!

I believe JR's first public statement related to the cost of this investigation and how this was the only reason why MT was being pursued! Never mind the facts or evidence -- it's all about the DA having to justify the expense, and with Fotis dead, MT is the easy scapegoat.

From the motion, it also appears that JR is citing the Herman custody report returned from the search warrant!

Given that FD was in possession of the custody report illegally, I think it's pretty brazen of JR to take this approach as a means to extract faulty information that he knows was sealed by the court.

He's shameless.

MOO

All I can say, all of you are so amazing to find this info....just WOW and thank you. Like all, I want to see justice for Jennifer, her beautiful Children, her mom, family and friends.

It would be wonderful if the jury was made up of WS members! I don’t see how that would be so wrong ;)

There’s a map in this article:
The most likely routes for Fotis Dulos, 52, however, would have taken him down highly trafficked and narrow streets, like Old Stamford Road and Weed Street, which are particularly busy at that time of the day.
Jennifer Dulos disappearance: The route Fotis Dulos could have taken from Waveny to Welles Lane

FYI from an aging former New Canaanite: Weed Street is named for an early family, I've been in Weed & Duryea many times with my Dad.

Wow!! Thanks for the link with an excellent story map that I'd not seen before.

Following the map and the notes helps to follow the arrest warrant. The map includes a photo of the spot JD's suburban was found abandoned (Lapham Rd). This same spot is described as within 100 feet of where the school bus camera captured the red Toyota parked at 7:40 AM.

(The Toyota belonged to FD's employee. It's believed FD drove the Toyota carrying the bike, parked the truck, and got on the bike as seen on residential surveillance).

I noticed the address, too. It's the first time I was aware that the police had identified the source of the video. Good old JS....bet the folks who live there are thrilled.

Edited:
Just looked at the map. It appears there is/was some new construction in that area. Wonder how recent this is? Would any of those construction areas have been a good place to deposit a body?
Speaking of construction--

Why would anyone name a street "Chicken Street"? (Wilton)

Well searching for an image of the building certainly produced some interesting non-relevant piccies. The term Weed was, ah, misinterpreted by our friends at Google, perhaps. The modern building is not what I remember from the 1960's.

BTW @Tink56 , you are too kind.

Thanks, all, Laughing

Why would anyone name a street "Chicken Street"? (Wilton)

“Chicken Street was named for Chief Chicken, a prominent Native American who never actually lived in Wilton. Chicken was banished from Greenfield Hill in Fairfield for killing another Native American. He was banished to Lonetown, which is now a part of Redding. He then signed a deed to John Read, for whom Redding is named after.

Chief Chicken established a trail through Wilton while on his way to visit another Indian chief in New Canaan, as well as a trail to the Long Island Sound, where he often went fishing.”

Thanks for the info! Interesting! Now my question is, "Why would anyone call an Indian chief Chicken?"

I expect that "chicken" represents the sounds that English speakers heard when told this gentleman's name. The area had Native Americans, French speakers, and English speakers and likely a few additional languages.

Keep in mind that one explanation for the naming of Buffalo, New York is that French speakers described the river as a beautiful flow -- beau fleuve -- to English speakers who heard "Buffalo" or transcribed the sounds heard as "Buffalo."

Native American word, pronounced by a French speaker to an English speaker....

Fair warning, our friend Google is not much help:

Their chief was Chickens Warrups or Sam Mohawk, as he was sometimes called. President Stiles says in his "Itinerary" that he was a Mohawk sagamore, or under-chief, who fled from his tribe and settled at Greenfield Hill, but having killed an Indian there he was again obliged to flee, and then settled in Redding. All the Indian deeds to the early settlers were given by Chickens, and Naseco, who seems to have been a sort of sub-chief. The chief, Chickens, figures quite prominently in the early history of Redding; he seems to have been a strange mixture of Indian shrewdness, rascality, and cunning, and was in continual difficulty with the settlers concerning the deeds which he gave them. In 1720 he was suspected by the colonists of an attempt to bring the Mohawks and other western tribes down upon them, as is proved by the following curious extract from the records of a meeting of the governor and council held at New Haven, September 15th, 1720:
Society of Colonial Wars in the State of Connecticut - Redding, Connecticut
