I’m unclear what to expect at MT’s pretrial hearing next Tuesday. Is the prosecution presenting their case with evidence; all pretrial motions heard etc...?

I’m also guessing, remote?

Thank you in advance!
Marissa Alter
@MarissaAlter

"Next date is 2/2. I would expect some tense exchanges between both sides."

Question: Will the media have access to the hearing? A tongue-tied and exasperated Schoenhorn always makes me feel better that Bowman is out.

Marissa Alter
@MarissaAlter

"Yes. We’ll be there. It’s a virtual hearing so not quite the same as normal—everyone involved is on Zoom on a big screen that’s in the front of a courtroom for reporters in the gallery to watch."

Question: Thanks!! Are you/your crew permitted to film the entire hearing and will it be available online?

Marissa Alter
@MarissaAlter

"We will shoot the whole hearing. Posting it online will depend how long it is. Last time it was almost 90 min. That’s too long/large of a file for us to post."

Oh the irony of Schoenhorn constantly raising an issue over the amount the state has spent on the investigation! I believe in one of his last motions, he requested the dollar amount. WHY?

Your client is a major contributing factor to that, Schoenhorn!

MOO
Indeed, she is.
Has he not focused on the times she has lied to investigators?
She lied in the first 3 interviews!
She deliberately gave false information.
Then owned up in her fourth interview.
On account of her being clueless and innocent, as we are to believe.
Do you believe that?

Agreed! Good luck to JS if he thinks his best defense is portraying Michelle as clueless.

What a shame that she didn’t tell the truth from day one.

There’s some truth to the saying that the truth will set you free. Missed opportunity. Moo

No I do not believe that. As a mom herself MT should have been frantic with worry that those 5 children (who she knew and spent time with!) were missing their mother and should have been proactively oversharing anything and everything she could think of to help JD be found. And yet MT couldn't be bothered to return LE's calls for a week?

Thank you @sds71 ! YTB!

This body part tidbit is interesting.

Also, a Starbucks run so far away is questionable as well as dumping garbage bags in various receptacles. They had garbage bins at their home and dumpsters at their properties that they frequented. Also, why did he not put them all in one bin if the contents were so innocent, Why take the extra time and effort to drop them in a few different bins? Why was Fotis wearing gloves if the bags were sealed as JS suggested? Surely he doesn’t wear gloves to take out his trash on a normal trash day.

Why did he make another stop to take a Weathertech mat from Jen’s Suburban and prop it up against the restaurant, Milagros’ wall? Why was he disposing it? A perfectly good mat! Was there one in his Suburban? If not, where did he get it? If there was, is it still there? Normal for a Friday night on Memorial day weekend in shady Hartford! Or the FedEx box drop in the drain! Nothing out of the ordinary there? I always travel out of town to dispose of a FedEx box in a storm drain, don’t you?

Are we supposed to believe that Michelle sat there clueless on her phone...oblivious. Did she bother to question him? If yes, did she share his responses with LE? No! If she did than things would be different now.

Again, she helped Fotis that morning with an alibi. She lied and said he was there. So we are supposed to suddenly believe everything she says now after all of the lies? The lies she told for months when LE was trying to investigate and help seek justice for a loving mother of 5 young children.

it takes guts to lie Law enforcement, too bad she didn’t have the guts to tell the truth.

I look forward to her explanation as why they went way out-of-the-way to dump trash and why leave this innocent dump and Starbucks visit out of the alibi scripts that she took time and effort to record every hour of the day. If they say the trash was construction debris... that’s what his dumpster is FORE.

According to reporter Erin M., MT had no idea that JD was even missing when she was doing all this mysterious disposal with her boyfriend.... And I have a bridge to nowhere for sale!

Correct, MT didn't share her first set of lies until she was in custody...as per AW3. For 9 DAYS she felt more compelled to CYA than show any form of humanity. She is what I call a human race letdown.

EM's first question to MT should've been "When did you find out that Jennifer was missing?". It would've been game over from the start and that podcast would've gone completely differently.

Jennifer was reported missing at 6:59pm on 5/24. FD was in the NCPD system because of the custody arrangements, and I believe would've been one, if not the first, call from NCPD. FD and MT entered Hartford surveillance at 7:31pm. Just enough time to jump in the car and get rid of evidence before there was a knock on their door. SHE KNEW. IMO

I saw this online earlier, but didn't read it....until after midnight. I decided today (Thursday) that I didn't want to read anything about FD because he doesn't deserve the attention and is not the victim.

The most shocking part to me...

"Troconis and Dulos were allegedly spotted on surveillance video the night of Farber Dulos' disappearance disposing of bags containing her blood and clothes. Her lawyer, Jon Schoenhorn, told Fox News that investigators told his client that the bags she was accused of helping Dulos dispose of contained body parts."

BODY PARTS? o_O

I know JS loves to give the public information we shouldn't have....and it's not always true, though if true MT is in worse case than before, IMO. I think the State has 80 ways to nail her to the crime, JS just keeps trying to poke holes over technicalities, IMO. How this info helps his client is beyond me.

For sure, FD and MT knew JD was missing very close to the time of the Albany run. The arrest warrant states, “after confirming with NCPD they had spoken to Dulos and it was alright to accept his incoming calls, Ms. Almeida called Dulos at 8:41pm.”
During the call with LA, FD never asked about JD, only asking LA if she had the kids with GF in NY, and reminding her she had to be on time for the visitation the next morning.

So the police had already spoken with FD prior to 8:41pm that night- must have been sometime between 7-8:40. Should be interesting to see what time NCPD first called FD- did that call trigger FD and MT to bolt to Albany Ave? About a 15 min drive from 4JC to where the Albany cameras start at 7:31 pm...and they left surveillance on Albany at 7:50pm, then were seen entering Starbucks at 7:59pm. With a call to KM thrown in at 7:47pm. That KM now says they told him it was done.
So the timing of the first call(s) from NCPD to FD on 5/24 will be really interesting. (Note, AW 2 states FD cell phone shows him in area of Albany from 7:10-7:40pm, not clear if 7:10 is when they left 4JC).

Which means that even if MT was totally clueless during the Albany
Run itself, very very shortly after returning, like on the order of minutes, she would have known that JD was missing, and all the odd events of the afternoon and evening would have been obvious to an. Unless she’s going to claim that FD kept it a secret from her (like until when...)

While it seems like the Albany run must have been part of a well thought out plan, it’s possible that FD was so stupidly narcissistic that he thought JD could disappear, nobody would think to question him, and he could cruise down and pick up the kids in NC the next morning and feign shock that JD was gone. And in that scenario perhaps he had another plan for disposing of the bags in the dark of night (or even on his return trip to NC early the next morning to meet with the kids, when he would have an alibi for being in the area). Or perhaps he thought he was going to strangle her, it would have been a clean kill and so he didn’t even plan on there being bags and bags and weathertec mats and pillows to get rid of.
In the big picture, having the bags on Albany Ave was a stupid move rather than putting them in Fairfield County somewhere closer to where JD disappeared. Whether somewhere remote (like Silver Spring Rd) or somewhere along the lines of Albany Ave only closer to NC, like a run-down neighborhood in Norwalk, Stamford, or even Bridgeport, none of which would have hinted at FD the way Albany Ave did. You would think if he had planned it out, Albany Ave wouldn’t have been his first choice.
So it’s possible that the Albany run was triggered by FD being notified that JD’s disappearance had been reported to police and he was afraid they might stop by.

Unfortunately I think that’s exactly the response JS is going for. He’s trying to say LE was luring MT into it, using false information (“body parts!”). If they had found body parts, well they wouldn’t still be looking for JD would they.
Remember JS is wailing that MT was totally innocent, along for a fun Friday evening joy ride to start her Memorial Day weekend on Albany Avenue with a side trip to Starbucks, and then LE tells her there were bags with body parts in the back! Blasphemy! No wonder she had to lie in 3 different interviews.

I mean she probably wasn’t sure of the English translation of “body parts” which is why she started going on about what she and FD were making on the side of the truck when PG arrived at 80MS. Maybe she thought they wanted her to talk about some other body parts. You see, poor MT, unable to understand English, framed by LE for something she knows nothing about, just out on a date night joyride in the Raptor in a cool section of town.

Let’s see what KM might have to say. So far Colangelo has been pretty good about letting the defense unspool just to the breaking point before dropping the next bomb. The harder JS pushes, the harder MT is going to fall. 3 hours of interview with KM was not for naught. And her court date is looming,

I know where the article, and JS’s comment is going-the part that is left unsaid in JS’s sentence is that he’s claiming that the investigators lied to MS about body parts being present- because he (JS) has seen no evidence of it, and thinks they don’t have it. I don’t know if the investigators did say it, but if they did, then IMO, they think that’s what happened to JFd. It wouldn’t really do LE any good to put it out there, if they didn’t believe that is what happened, because it wouldn’t likely elicit the response they are looking for. I’m not sure what JS hopes to accomplish with this, unless it is just that he thinks MT’s been manipulated...and I’m not sure how their manipulation hurts her if she truly has no knowledge.

Why didn't he just undoctor the license plates and throw them away like everything else?

I'd like to know if the box was addressed. Say to Greece. Was someone else supposed to courier it from the drain to a FedEx dropoff? Maybe he intended to mail it himself but realized that might be too risky? Did he ask handwiper to see if the drain had water, hoping it'd just swim away?

So many levels of dupid I can't decipher his intent.

Rice, who is a domestic violence survivor, hopes the story will help others see their strength, especially those who have experienced psychological abuse. “I never thought it would happen to me, but it did,” she says. “I used to think that domestic violence was real only if a person was physically abused, if there were bruises and broken bones. I learned that psychological abuse is as bad, in some ways even worse, because it attacks the very core of who a person is.”

Shortly after I finished writing The shadow box, Jennifer Farber Dulos is missing in Connecticut. Although she has never been found, at least for now, she is presumed dead and her husband Fotis Dulos has been charged with her murder. Court documents show Jennifer has repeatedly expressed her fear to a family court judge. “I’m scared of my husband,” Jennifer wrote. “I know that asking for a divorce and filing this petition will make him angry. I know he will retaliate by trying to hurt me in some way. He has the attitude that he must always win at all costs. ”

It sounded very familiar to me. both in my personal life and in the life of Claire, the character that I had created. Jennifer’s case touched many people and renewed my desire to help others escape abusive relationships.

One thought that just came to mind is that maybe the license plates were intended to be used to get rid of the evidence. BUT, when LE called so early on Friday night, FD and MT made a quick plan to dump it all on Albany Ave, license plates included. I believe it's realistic to think that FD had fedex supplies at home, given his company operated out of his home. Had it not been a quick decision, he could've just peeled all of the tape and the clear adhesive sealant. Not so easy to do in a rush. IMO

I reallllly don't think Albany Ave was where he/they intended to drop the evidence. FD managed to avoid a lot of cameras earlier in the day, which I believe is a result of many weeks of scoping out NC. Had he done the same with Albany Ave, I doubt he would go near it. Albany Ave in particular was already a 'command central' model for other cities to implement high tech surveillance.

FD/MT probably would've been better off putting all of those bags in his residential garbage. But they panicked, thankfully. MOO

I agree with you and also thought it was going the same place you mentioned. I'll be honest, the only thing that makes me think it is illegal for investigators to lie about evidence I learned from Making a Murderer....so it's MOO. MT's first custodial interview with investigators was on 6/2. Not sure I've read anything that she didn't lie about in that interview, in the presence of her attorney. Part of me believes that there could be some truth to body parts (small) being found or the investigators reasonable belief that forensics would confirm small body parts as belonging to Jennifer. I also wouldn't put it past FD or MT for that matter to do something so horrific. IMO. Brilliant point about the manipulation not hurting her if she has no knowledge. Plus, all that I've seen out of JS is his desire to poke holes in the technicalities (motions, constitutional rights, etc), have you seen any evidence of him having a persuasive defense strategy for MT's actions and/or involvement?
