Could the emergency break have been on too? How could the battery be dead so quickly?
I know if Mr BeachSky leaves his car unlocked it “searches” for his fob… thus drains his battery.
The mechanic said he should ALWAYS lock it.
Creeped me out …like Alexia does when no one asked her opinion.

Troconis’ father, Dr. Carlos Troconis, said outside the courthouse that “this looks like a trial for Fotis, and Fotis is no longer with us.” Hartford Courant

Appears the family doesn’t understand that they need to establish that a crime was committed (by Fotis) before they introduce their daughter’s involvement in the crime (with Fotis). A bit of a disconnect, in my opinion.

Ahhhh, what a great morning! Coffee and football coming later today, just about perfect. Oh, and not having to listen to JS for 3 days - think I'm in heaven :)

Correct, FD is no longer with us. But he left the prima donna, socialite wannabe holding the bag. Specifically a trash bag, with her fingerprints, containing bloody items linked to JFd, recently declared deceased. It wasn't just up against the Tacoma that FD and MT are inextricably entwined. Throw KM in there too for greedy bedfellows in this sex, lies and phone calls to Greece sick plot.

The ponchos will convict.

Here's the 6 minutes of MT's interrogation, starts at about 38:30. I don't think I knew that FD was trying to get back with JD or maybe the police were lying to MT about it to get her to talk.

IMO ..Yes. MT seems to pay the most attention to FD trying to get back with JD. Wow her body language. She takes her hands away from her face..sits straight up..stops whining …& says “I’m sorry WHAT?”

I would have liked to see MT interrogated by someone who leaned in toward her, all sympathetic like. Like the pair who interviewed ChrisWatts. Get her talking. About her perfect life, how loving and attentive FD is, how difficult blended families are, Yada, yada. Let her expand on her sexcapades and her travels and how smart she is.... and then tighten the screws...

Yes. I'm not a technical expert but I don't think its a mystery that the vehicle was left the way it was by FD on Lapham. Will have to go back and see the arrest affidavit. Gray Hughes did a rehash of the arrest affidavit the other night and I believe he might have discussed the issue of how exactly the car was left on Lapham. Will have to go back and double check the details.
I thought FD left the car that way so it would look as if JFD was abducted while she was jogging there. Where do you think JS was going with his questions about the topography of that area--e.g., the nearness of the Merritt Pkwy to the trail and road and whether the Parkway was above or below? An alleged escape route to the Pkwy?

Yes, yes, yes. True disconnect. Evidence of the “if she didn’t ‘do it’ (her words), she shouldn’t be held responsible” attitude discussed earlier.

Ponchos. And the taped-together trash bags… … ?! Heinous.

So again apologies since I took a long break from this.....but MT was wearing a 3K coat yesterday to her murder trial when surrounded by her family.
What do these people think??? FD killed JD and MT just innocently helped him dump a multitude of bloody bags all over town? No one innocently does that with even one bag of blood soaked stuff. No woman should have a blood soaked bra and if it wasn't hers wouldn't she have a question about that?
Well h*ll yes...so she is not innocent.

I'm so glad the grandmother and nanny got those kids out of there. He would have taken them out along with himself.

For a surgeon, he isn’t very smart.

The coat her sister was wearing looked cheap, and looked like she slept in it.

Yes, your recollection about leaving car running is the same as mine. I also wonder (but don't remember as we must have discussed the onboard computer system ages ago) whether leaving the vehicle the way it was (out of gas and dead battery) had the effect of impacting the computer system? We know the key fob was brought to Lapham Road but my recollection was that the vehicle was dead so the key fob was useless at the scene. Someone posted about the battery issues with the 2017 Suburbans which might answer the question of why the vehicle died but I don't know the impact of a dead battery on the data in the OnStar system? I still believe the body of JD is in the NC area based on the timeline and wonder if the computer system of the Suburban might shed more light on what precisely happened? We have never seen any evidence from the OnStar so far as I recall so I wonder if the reason why is because it doesn't exist? I truly don't know. I hope the strongest evidence has never been publicly seen as it was encouraging to see such clear scene footage from the neighbours security cams. I've always questioned the bloody footprint in the Welles garage so perhaps we might get some answers about it as well.

Sadly on the issue of JS (all my thoughts about JS are morose....),I think its just about creating doubt and confusion which is what JS has been doing all along. IMO he is greatly out of his depth professionally in this case so the only things in his toolbox are the disrupt and disorder tactics that we have sadly seen so far.

At this point I feel sorry for the jury to enter this complex case with no framework for understanding. Most here on WS have been here since the beginning and have a solid grasp of the facts and understand a good portion of the publicly available evidence. Can you imagine the position the State has put the jurors in with this presentation style? I'm frankly enraged about it all on behalf of the victims after just a few days of trial. Hope I'm wrong but in my experience the State of CT never fails to disappoint and so far they have exceeded even my expectations as to their performance. I also feel for law enforcement as they worked very diligently to prosecute this case and their every effort is allowed to be undermined by the decisions of the Judge in the case and the seeming inability of the State to even introduce basic crime scene evidence.

On the topography question. Yes, the Merritt does change elevation and at some points of Waveny is at the same level as the walking paths (recollection is as you approach South Avenue (other side boundary of Waveny Park) the park path and the Merritt get closer together to the point where at South Avenue they are moving together at same elevation).

JS has to prove nothing, just sow doubt. I'm frankly still reeling from Prosecution waiving Opening Statements as IDK how Jurors can process this mountain of evidence with no roadmap and get to a conviction for conspiracy.

Will continue to hang with the case to see if justice can be delivered to the victims but I'm profoundly disappointed so far both in terms of the States presentation as well as the Judge's courtroom management (or lack thereof).

Oh, he was going absolutely nowhere with it.

Just taking up time, pretending he had relevancy.

We may be here in May.

I agree that she will take the stand only if he thinks she must-or if Mama A thinks it’s a good idea.
IDK about MT hitting the stand and it might just be too early to tell. JS seemed to leave the issue up in the air which given where we are in the trial seems about right. They might have to do it if the evidence mountain is an insurmountable climb imo as I believe the Conspiracy charge carries a well deserved 20 years in CT. I'm hoping that the State withheld the most compelling evidence for trial and that once its all presented that there is a clearly delineated case for Conspiracy. Clearly the cell phone data of MT exclusion might impact things but I would think that most of that information could be back doored by other means by the State if they so chose to do so.

BUT, MT is an avowed liar as proven in three LE interviews and I'm not sure how the jury could ever believe anything she says? The Defence is proceeding along the language barrier farce path so perhaps they put her up speaking spanish as some other pundits watching this case have suggested. But, as we all know the language issue is a non issue as both parents were partially educated and worked in the US for 20+ years and MT has lived most of her life in the US. Even if you listen to the interview clips we have seen along with video and audio clips from when law enforcement raided Jefferson Crossing (recollection is that Daily Mail had the best audio clips of this sorry event), that the MT accent in Spanish isn't even consistent and imo her speech IN SPANISH is oftentimes incoherent and hard to understand imo. The MT accent in english also varies and for me at least was the first tip off that we were dealing with a language based grift from the Defendant. We also don't know (but probably can deduce) the base intelligence level of MT either so its entirely possible that no matter what language (Spanish or English) is being spoken that she would not be able to understand or function? We will just have to watch and see!

Love the interjection of Trial Fashion as its a great palette cleanser from this heavy trial! This should have its own thread imo! Thanks for bringing it up.

I'd like to add after not having seen MT in person in awhile that I was surprised to not see the prior imo evidence of botox and filler as she looked like she has aged 20 years since last seen! She frankly looks like she has aged and is now on the far side of 60 imo. It was amusing to see clear evidence of hair extensions poking out of the unbrushed hair! Surprised that there wasn't more thought given by the Troconis clan as to the impact of wardrobe and demeanor on the Trial.

The nanny as you point out was the heroine of this case as I have no doubt that she saved the children. Ditto for Gloria Farber getting an armed guard to protect the children from a no doubt manic FD in NYC.

Curious about the details on the coat though, whose is it do you think?

Over/under, I say there's no chance she'll take the stand. JS is talking smack.

I thought it was just a basic duffle coat. But I suppose it wouldn’t surprise me if it was expensive, and also wouldn’t surprise me if she is wearing it because Jennifer Dulos and Gloria Farber indirectly paid for it (if it was purchased prior to Jennifer’s death)
