Exactly. At this rate, jurors might drop out of old age, natural causes.

Me too. Had two cigarettes lit. And I don't smoke.

JS needs to do his calisthenics outside the presence of the jury.

“JS needs to do his calisthenics outside the presence of the jury.”

But he won’t because he is getting away with it. Why is the judge allowing him to do it? Any lawyers here today?

Yellow is such a great color for Easter-wear, don't you agree???

I loved seeing her like this-in that baggy yellow outfit, ready to plotz because she was arrested again, but this time with a charged that carried a 20 year sentence

I'm not a lawyer but....

Guessing the judge is being generous, giving a wide berth to the defense so as not to prejudice the jury against them. I think he puts great faith in The Jury. To watch, evaluate...

It's really peculiar though. I feel like I'm used to these conversations happening outside the presence of the jury.

I wonder if that maybe did happen, photos were agreed upon, and now JS is launching fresh objections, to stall the proceedings and to throw the State off stride.

It just seems strange. I feel like I've been privy to sidebars, not open court.

IMO, since I have been exceptionally hard on the defense...

I also would like to see the state step it up a little, man !
Show me ( the jury ) some zeal, some passion, some emotion!
The hum drum, (constant look like Eeyore ) as you walk back to your table, expecting the verbal diarrhea of objections from JS that is bound to come after any exhibit you offer...it's a defeated look and mannerism, IMO. The jury sees that look.

Show some conviction and confidence!
Gloria and The 5 littles of Jennifer need to see this also.

Agree @Megnut
We are only 2 days in.
Seems there is some harsh judgement being bandied about regarding the judge and prosecution.
The judge I believe is trying to be even handed and not cut JS off at the knees right out of the gate. That to me, and I suspect to the jurors could appear predjuducal - and unfair to the defense.
He is weighing JS’s arguments imo in a very deliberate manner.
And responding to JS in a very seasoned and reasoned legal manner. It is obvious JS is losing ground with his points but the judge is correctly imo - this early in the game- not rubbing Schoenhorns face in it.
I suspect if this continues the judge will have a chat with the D and P in chambers about the pace of the trial before he admonishes either of them in front of a jury.
Right now the P is laying the foundation for the case. They just began. Barely.
It’s like the beginning of a movie where my partner constantly asks me “What’s going on, what’s going on?” Lol.
I always say - Sit back -let’s wait and watch and hopefully it all will become clear. Most often it does become clear.
Fingers crossed the same here.
JMO after only 2 days in.
At this point, I do believe there will be Justice For Jennifer.

Edit to add - I suspect JS prob refused to agree to the pics etc and stipulate before the trial. He wants the drama. But yes lots of what appears to be just “housekeeping” - should be so much easier. JMO

I think we're going to learn that KM wasn't at 4J that morning, just his phone. Which he probably recovered in the same way FD's was -- MT and her courier service.

And that leaves MT alone in an office with a landline and two cellphones, arranging to take a call from Greece. She didn't think that odd?

She had one job.

And then she was supposed to make herself seen. All about town.

I really hope she's enjoyed her freedom because I'm hoping it's about to come to a sharp end.

I very much hope your view is correct as it would contribute greatly to establishing conspiracy amongst the three individuals.

I also hope that the NCPS bus dash cams got some good footage (or certainly more than we have been privy too so far) of the path of the red Tacoma or Suburban and even possibly the neighbours footage around Welles neighbourhood. Its probably too much to hope for that there was a computer onboard the Tacoma but stranger things have happened in cases and perhaps the truck owner could back into the mileage to give an idea of where the truck might have gone beyond the trip from Farmington to NC. I find it hard to believe that the truck wasn't picked up somewhere around NC or Farmington areas with clearer pictures than we were made privy to in the arrest affidavit and we have the missing time in NC on the timeline if I recall correctly (40 min roughly).

We haven't heard anything about the terms for KM testifying in the trial and so far as I know his charges haven't been changed since the original charges. I haven't had time to check on the status of his litigation with his ex wife but I assume they are still pending as the courts in CT are notoriously slow. Guy is in a heap of legal trouble so I wonder how the State will deal with his testimony.

I keep thinking about the bloody footprint in the Welles garage and in the evidence presented so far we didn't get much info about the size of the shoe that allegedly made the print so far as I know. I just keep looking at the images of the footprint that we do have and I very much wonder how many people were in that garage? Did the Suburban and Tacoma evidence review uncover DNA or hair from anyone else other that FD and JF? I also looked at FD feet in a couple of images and I would be shocked if he had a foot larger than EU 42/US Mens 9.

I'm looking forward to the Prosecution tying up all these loose ends in our understanding of the evidence and timeline for this tragedy.

Per the article: Kent Mawhinney — charged in the death and disappearance of Jennifer Dulos — was given a five-year suspended prison sentence and three years of probation on a domestic violence charge following an emotional court proceeding Friday afternoon.

Mawhinney is also required to have no contact with his ex-wife for five years, seek mental health and substance abuse evaluations and attend domestic violence counseling.

End snip from article.

Wrist, meet slap. Feather slap. Whiff.

AFAIK, he pleaded Alford in the DV case, and received a five-year suspended sentence.

Did they request that people who use dashcams in their personal cars check them, too? Just wondering if any of them are being utilized up in Farmington, to see what Michelle was up to, and when, since her cellphone is off limits

I'm still not clear on the cellphone. LE DID get a warrant for MT's "cellphone records" on 5/27/2019 - long before they seized her cellphone itself (for which they did not get a warrant).

So, I assume prosecutors CAN use the data obtained from MT's cellphone records - which would include calls or texts made (to/from, cell tower location, duration). They can also use any information that FD/MT wrote down on the cellphone log page of the "alibi script" (as well as any deviation of what was written on that page from actual cellphone records).

They just cannot use information downloaded from the cellphone itself (content of texts or emails, GPS location, etc). Is that correct?

Interesting interview with a former CT prosecutor about relevant issues such as why conspirators are charged regardless of whether they committed the criminal act for which the conspiracy was formed. Also addresses the recent declaration that JFD is dead (although he is incorrect in his understanding that it was this trial judge that made the declaration).

ETA: it was a probate judge, Judge William P. Osterndoerf of Darien-New Canaan Probate Court, that declared JFD dead:
Wait. Possibly put her on the stand and have her speaking Spanish?
Didn't she speak English in her police interviews?
Disingenuous and misleading IMO.

I listened to that also. Just another lawyer's speculation of what hijinx JS might pull
"Question her in Spanish on the stand and have her reply in Spanish" Huge eye roll IMO

I don't think Schoenhorn has much of a defense. What could he use for her possible defense that would make any sense?
So he has been on this translator kick since he picked up the case.

Thing is, I remember, iirc, Bowman/MT saying she did not need a translator when one was offered - the P must have this on tape somewhere and they will certinly be ready for this type of maneuver with other examples of her living her life in "english". So I the think the P can shred this argument.

The jurors will not take kindly to being played for fools - IMO if that is what transpires - it will backfire.

Here's the 6 minutes of MT's interrogation, starts at about 38:30. I don't think I knew that FD was trying to get back with JD or maybe the police were lying to MT about it to get her to talk.

Do you know if the documents on this ruling have been made public by any of the reposters? Honestly I admit to being confused as to the final ruling and I don’t think the definitive word on the ruling should be coming from a JS sound bite. If anyone has the document and could post it that would be helpful as it’s a point that is important. If no document exists I will try to locate it.

Thanks for posting. Will have to get caught up on this but a suspended sentance? I possibly see the “hands of god” in this one but then again CT doesn’t typically legally support DV victims so perhaps the outcome isn’t all that surprising? Idk

Shameful outcome imo for what was described to be horrific abuse. Glad they got him into rehab for it all including drugs. He presumably will be able to testify as to the drugs being used on an ongoing basis at Jefferson Crossing which will enlighten us once and for all as to MT and FD chronic drug use.

Does anyone know if either FD or MT drug test results were made public? My recollection was that they were both tested at I believe litchfield but I don’t recall hearing anything after that.

Many commented at the time law enforcement showed up at Jefferson Crossing about the pupil size of both FD and MT eyes. MT eyes in particular imo look like she had been on a multi day bender with FD by the time law enforcement finally arrested them. I very much hope this long history of drug use by MT was documented by law enforcement and is presented at trial.

Ah, the Big Bird outfit! Thanks for bringing it back.

It does bring to mind how someone with two conspiracy charges ever got out of jail? Well, hopefully this will be the case for only a short period longer. Every time I think about this Defendant not spending any time in jail it is frankly enraging. I can only surmise that it’s a case of money/privilege meets State of CT judiciary system.

Reposting this dated article simply for the fun detail that FD and MT were originally arrested at a hotel. Based on their photos, they looked none too happy about it. Pity that.
