JS objecting constantly now....Michi time coming soon on the Albany Ave video!

  • #482
A little behind, but seeing all these businesses on the map that are minutes from me is surreal.

Woohoo, such a productive day. We managed a little over 3 hours' witness testimony today.

  • #484
Witness describes vehicles associated with FD including a Porsche and red Tacoma.

Contacted a detective at Hartford's 4C command center where they have cctv that they can review historically going back a month.

Many objections from defense, overruled.

Referencing now a screenshot of a video.

State is explaining that the witness is describing the steps he took and why.

Judge adjourns for the day. Extra admonitions for the jury.

JS succeeded in preventing (at least at this moment late Friday afternoon) the officer mentioning what vehicle he observed in still shots from the restaurant's video on Albany Ave (at Green St) and who was inside that vehicle.

Wonder WHO it could possibly be?...

To be continued on Monday at 10 am.

Why can't this judge just make a ruling on objections? Why does he have to restate the question?

Ventresca is getting visibly and audibly annoyed with JS. He is all of us right now.

CT criminal trial procedure is a joke. Unbelievable

Question is, Is the JURY visibly and audibly annoyed? I betcha visibly they are anyway. The guy just won't let the story be told. No matter what. And, surely they are tired of his interruptions.

This is all quite frustrating as I think most of us are used to seeing these issues of evidence resolved pretrial and not mid trial. This is like watching a bad episode of “let’s make a deal” between the parties. Insanity and imo a total waste of time as it’s so unproductive. How is the jury supposed to follow the narrative with constant unproductive interruptions.

Small win for the defense keeping the Tacoma testimony at bay until next week.

But it's coming. The jury will be all fresh and rested when they see MT in the passenger seat... and wipeswipewiping her grimy paw on the by-comparison pristine city sidewall.

Didn't look like she was talking on her phone last time I viewed it.... so.... what did she think FD was doing in that moment?

And at some point, his desperation tells its own story.

Hopefully they have tuned him out, as have we.

Why can't this judge just make a ruling on objections? Why does he have to restate the question?
Because he is calm and measured and wants to make sure he gets it correct? Especially with all of the nitpicking and manipulative language JS is using?

Recently I viewed an image of FD walking a rug toward a bank of retail businesses.

Possibly the WeatherTek liner.

Why did he do that???? Why????

Surely he didn't think he'd be captured on CCTV.... but was it strategic, akin to leaving a key in an unpopular car in the hopes it'll be an attractive lure and become an opportunistic steal? Someone who might steal a rug might be a perfect patsy to be found in possession of a bloody mat, linked to a missing person.

Still, why not in a dumpter like most everything else?

Am having serious reservations as to whether this trial will make it to the finish line. Losing 2 jurors in the first full week does not bode well.

ETA: Forgot Monday was a holiday so it was not even a full week!
