Just thinking about the TP weather discussion again on "Cross", I have to say that Judge R imo isn't making it easy for witnesses in this case to answer questions on cross.

IDK if anyone else is bothered by it but if Defence is permitted to ramble for many minutes and then end with a vague or open ended question I think it makes it super hard for the witness to answer.

So far the witnesses have been well prepared and some have asked for clarification or for the question to be repeated but I honestly wish that Judge R make this easier for the Jury and the Witness by limiting Counsel to clear questions.

Adding complexity and extra narrative into cross imo could lead to unintended consequences. I think the Judge R is well aware of the issue and today I think did finally say something. But, next time confusion could arise on cross relating to an important issue.

Thanks for this! Much appreciated. Looks like small cell with rain to me over Farmington at the time referenced. IDK for sure but these look like rain maps. Perhaps what happened is that the larger cell to the left of Farmington moved rapidly over to Farmington eventually and perhaps as a larger cell that was what had the thunder/lightening? Don't think we can do anything but guess on that based on these maps imo. The cell over Farmington looks to be light to moderate rain (which the video from ski club verified). To assess the lightening you'd have to refer to a lightening strike map for the area imo as these rain maps don't really have all the data. MOO Will see if I can find a strike map.

Yep, it clear as day as you brilliantly point out says CST, so one hour behind EST.
Great.....then I hope State picks up what appears to be a clear error and brings it up next week but it most likely will be too late to object.

I’m following Nancy Grace’s comments of MT’s trial. MT’s sister thinks she’s innocent. NG said there were 2 poncho’s found. 2! Still think she’s innocent?
This murder was very much planned. So much so they even thought of buying ponchos so as to not get JFD’s blood on their clothes.

Haven’t seen NG’s commentary but at the risk of sounding obsessive, I want to know if there’s DNA info that the P is (temporarily!) holding re: the interior of these ponchos (image from MT’s AA). Also if there’s in-store surveillance video or record of purchase. I seem to remember a Lowe’s person on the witness list? Maybe I’m wrong.

IIRC JS has already stated something to this effect - That the State has spent so much money on this case that they needed to go after somebody after FD was no longer "available" so they turned their sites on Michelle. Ooops sorry she was already arrested and charged before he effectively killed himself.

All his cross examination was poppycock. You get arrested .. there are processes and procedures. They were done by the book.
She got photographed in her underwear? Oh was she wearing a thong? Cmon JS. Standard procedure done by a woman.
Maybe it rained maybe it didn't. Immaterial IMO.
JS' comment about Andy Bowman - what was that about him -JS indicates AB has been practicing for 50 years - we were prob in high school JS indicates to Kimball - is that meant to mean AB was less than competent and too old and senile?

Despite JS' attempts to paint Michelle as just a damsel in distress, JS's client is not even close to that.

She is definitely not a "faltering petunia" as my Mom would say. She has lived, played and competed - water ski's snow skiing - in highly comptetitive male dominated atmosphere's. She is more than capable of holding her own - as we saw in those interviews.

JS' cross so far is a huge Fail. Glaringly obvious there is no "gotcha" coming from him. Keeping my fingers crossed all the t's were crossed etc in this case thoughout the investigation. So far CT imo has done themselves proud.

Nope, MT statement about thunderstorms seems unlikely but not impossible imo given the graphic that TP posted that indicated some weather event at the time in vicinity of 4Jx.

Truly its hard to say on CT storms as popcorn storms happen frequently depending on the season. You could have dark skies and lightening in one place and blue sky calm weather a short distance away. These mini weather events happen quickly and then disappear.

Perhaps that is what happened?

But, the issue is that officer checked the weather with weather underground and another source that I don't recall and didn't see any storm activity but it was at a place away from Farmington (local airport I think).

I think my initial comment was simply to question whether a statement about weather that MAY have been true or May NOT have been true could somehow be translated more broadly into confirmation that MT was telling the truth in all aspects of her various interviews! People debate weather all the time, MT daughter could have been having a nightmare or difficulty sleeping etc. Who knows what all might have been going and we have no confirmation that MT actually did leave her bedroom and spend night with her daughter.

Its just odd that in all the hours of testimony we all have watched here now for 2 days that the ONE issue TP raises has to do with the weather.

The P after checking what the EST shows should hammer him on this. The weather to me is immaterial but deceit from the D to the witness is material IMO

It is very possible there was a stray storm there or not. Does it matter ?

After court adjourned, Schoenhorn told reporters he expected Pawel Gumienny, the former employee of Fotis Dulos' company whom Kimball has suggested Fotis Dulos tried to frame, will testify next week.

Schoenhorn previously has opined that Gumienny, who has been given immunity, will reveal heretofore unknown facts about the case while on the stand.

"You might hear Monday or Tuesday from the employee, Mr. Gumienny," Schoenhorn said, noting that prosecutors are presenting their case and control who gets called to the stand. "Everything's tentative, I hear these things.

Yes, seems like a clear error.

To close the loop on this see below on issue of precipitation on 5/24/19 (not strike data and not at a specific time).

But, I went to NOAA which is used by sailors etc. and there was no precipitation listed in the Hartford area on 5/24/19 which seems to contradict the video shown from the Ski Club. This data could have the same issue that the Detective ran into when he referred to Weather underground data set. TO be precise there is a bit more work that would have to be done to look at the various maps that feed into the different regions. I didn't do this and just used "Hartford Area" from NOAA.

To be clear, a valid and specific question was asked by @marcom about something that was subjective in nature imo and about which much discussion had previously taken place each time various clips of LE interviews were released.

Of course any/all questions are valid as that is the purpose of case threads such as this one.

Right now on the thread there is a live trial underway that most folks posting here are responding to and asking questions or reporting on in real time.

The intent of my response was to provide the person @marcom with some resource suggestions on where to get some answers on a question that was related to the question asked.

My response in NO WAY made any statement about the question as there is no doubt that anyone can ask a question at any time.

I hope so and cannot wait to hear PG's testimony. I am expecting it to be nail in the coffin type testimony (along w/DNA on Albany dump bags)
