Witness analyzed sponge.

Noted reddish brown staining, swabbed the short edge of the sponge, positive for screening test for the presence of blood. Collected a portion for DNA testing.

Tested another area, positive for the screening test for the presence of blood. Collected a portion for DNA testing.

Swabbed the yellow side minus areas of staining, sent for DNA testing

When will they share the results of all this testing? I may be mistaken but the items presented right now all seem to be items MT may have had contact with or belonged to her person, ie, the hair, the cleaning supplies.

Swapped the interior palm side of glove for wearer DNA, including finger areas

Did not test the interior for blood.

Soiling on wristband, tested a less soiled area, tested positive for the screening test for the presence of blood, sent for DNA testing

Tested wrist area, tested positive for the screening test for the presence of blood, took an additional swabbings and sent for DNA testing

Took another swabbing of the palm side, turned inside out, for DNA testing

Witness examined item.

Noted some reddish brown stain on black cap end. Did not test. Because it was slated to be analyzed by fingerprinting.

Examined it again after fingerprinting.

Noted reddish brown deposits in the broken end. Tested positive for the screening test for the presence of blood

Collected the stain on the cap, tested a portion, positive for the screening test for the presence of blood

Collected another stain, same results

Collected a sample for trace material on the entire red barrel, submitted for DNA analysis

I like the way they have presented evidence. May seem drawn out but if I am a juror and the dna results show Jennifer’s blood anywhere that MT has been, especially tying in with Jennifer's death, then it’s over for MT. I believe the jury already knows MT was part of all this. For FD and MT this was all about money.

Swabbed a dark area, negative for blood

Collected a swabbing of entire sponge, for trace material, sent for DNA testing

Collected a hairlike fiber from the green portion of the sponge

Confirmed as a human hair with tissue like material at the root. Examined under a microscope. Collected root sample to submit for DNA analysis

Item trash bags, one torn, taped together

Fingerprinting analyzed it both before and after she examined it.

Black plastic bag interior, two areas with black tape. She turned it inside out to show the duct tape before photographing

Took four swabbings

Witness loosened the knot a bit so she could swab that area

Located a hairlike fiber in the knot area

Confirmed it was a human hair with a root with tissue like material, forwarded the root for DNA analysis.

Tested two areas of reddish brown staining, tested positive for the screening test for the presence of blood, submitted for DNA analysis

Collected a sample from the exposed white sticky side of the duct tape, no screening test, sent for touch DNA analysis

Collected some trace material and forwarded bag to fingerprint

Was difficult to see staining on the black bag but wanted to connect samples before fingerprinting dusted it.

Received it back in two pieces

Swabbed an area on the bag and an area on the separated piece of bag including the rim of both sides.

Witness identifies actual bag with additional piece of plastic bag, shows jury. Shows jury how she expected it may have been handled.

[Sobering. Spoiler: that's Jennifer's blood.]

JS gets the witness to confirm that "indicates" includes potential. In regard to indicating the presence of blood.

JS asks if she has a way to know how items were handled prior to her examinations, specifically with cross contamination

JS shows the photo of trash before it was collected on Albany

Asks her if that is how she should store items.

Objection, Judge's impatience is showing

Witness says crime scenes aren't labs. She trusts LE to handle it per their training. She doesn't see an alternative, she too would collect it all and take it to a secure area

This witness has had enough of JS ridiculousness.

Of course, it would be WONDERFUL if criminals protected the integrity of all evidence by treating it like a crime lab would, but that is against the self interest of the criminals, so into a garbage bin on a city street it goes. Why? In the hope that evidence will disappear and or mix with and be destroyed by items dropped by others there.

Has anyone else noticed a difference in JS’ demeanor with this witness (from the last)? He knows she has a stronger personality.
