The armed guard thing is a claim made by the STBXs lawyer, I haven’t seen that verified as a fact. I am taking that claim with a grain of salt. It seems in line with his claim that Jennifer told the kids she could have the mafia break his knees. Which turned out to be BS.

Who is STBX? This is the first reference I can find and I can’t tell who this person is by the narrative here on WS?

Thank you

What does this document mean (I am ignorant in the legal sense)

The upcoming depositions for his divorce case are cancelled.

Witnesses were going to be called but they are no longer required to appear. Atleast right now.

I see a connection in that his construction crews could be hired out of the north end of Hartford.
Agree. Workers involved with construction most likely are in this area. Day labor is frequently picked up in this area as well. This is not an area where JD would be going willingly IMO.

Yes, GE and GECC are mostly gone and moved to Boston. The impact on the real estate market in lower Fairfield County has been substantial. GE had campus locations in Fairfield, Norwalk and Stamford. The former/fired CEO used to live in New Canaan and my recollection is that he took a substantial loss on the sale of his house in order to move to Boston.
GE Capitol’s plans to move any and all the CT offices & divisions to Boston has been cancelled. In Feb 2019. Not sure why, but they are now staying in CT. The large Stamford campus has closed, GE Capitol had downsized considerably and they’re in debt of several $billion and owe pensions to retirees and soon to be retirees.

The Stamford campus has been or soon will become Senior/Retirement housing.

During college, with a major in business finance, my son did an internship at GE Capitol in Stamford and was hired there after he graduated.

He stayed just 2 yrs before quitting, due to the stress and pressure. Just awhile ago, we were discussing GE Capitol and he said he doesn’t miss it at all. He now lives in RI w/ his wife & my 3 precious grands and has a job with a company he loves. Just a short while ago, he said he just made VP of Finance & HR! :)

Can you elaborate?
Don't want to speak for the OP but this neighborhood is about as far away from New Canaan/Pound Ridge as you can possibly get. Hartford crime statistics are horrific and have been trending in the wrong direction for years. At times it appears the Hartford police are not able to control crime in the city and certain areas fall into the category of being 'no go' zones even for the police. I don't know the crime stats for the area they were searching this afternoon but Hartford is consistently on the lists of most dangerous cities in US. CT sadly has a few cities on those lists and crime has continued to go up as the financial fortunes of the State have declined over the past 20 years.

And she’s missing so wouldn’t be able to attend

Why would he do that?

If anyone had access to her car, they would have had access to her garage door opener. Or, had the killer had gotten on the property as she was leaving to drop off the kids, they could have snuck into the house as the garage door was closing.

I think that we are going to find out very soon what happened to this poor woman.
We've learned in other cases that OnStar offers various options for people to gain entry to the vehicle. We don't know how they set up OnStar but how tragic would it have been for her to have an old family car to which he still had access via OnStar? This would be an interesting question for the press conference IMO.

This isn’t the time to be worried about divorce proceedings.

The person you are divorcing is missing, and clearly won’t be available.

Bigger fish to fry.

Hartford, like many cities are divided into different ethnic and cultural groups. The south end is primarily Hispanic, the north end black and Caribbean, west end mixed. So a white man from New Canaan would not blend in or pass unnoticed in the north end especially on a weekend night.

(just thinking out loud, not questioning you. :))

I was wondering the same thing....

I think it’s just standard legal maneuvering. His lawyers would be advising him on this.

It doesn’t prove any guilty knowledge or anything.

Despite what most of us feel about the situation.

He knew she wouldn't be able to attend as she is 'missing'. IMO by cancelling this he is simply saving himself money by not forcing the atty's and experts scheduled to show up which is quite expensive. The tactic is also a stall and he could be preparing another motion to demand full custody as JD is 'missing'. If any atty's on the thread would weigh in on these issues it would be super helpful. I was reading about grandparents rights in custody and it would be helpful if an atty. on this thread could shed some light on this topic as its complex. I am also not exactly clear on the legality of what the grandparent did even though I fully understand the great need to secure the children from a parent that only has supervised visitation rights at present. IMO this is now a complicated family law situation and I'm not qualified to opine but I hope someone that has the expertise can explain it to us as I am extremely concerned about the welfare of the children. It would be horrible if the state intervened to take them away from the grandparent and put them into the foster system. I hope the grandparent crack legal team is working hard on this issue as the welfare of the children is paramount at this time.
