I'm thinking a presser is not too far off now. Hope we at least get a POI out of it.

MOO
I hope so.

No doubt the guy probably has a high priced attorney to corroborate and defend all manner of denials and theories of what happened to his wife. This manipulative self centered vindictive creep will probably lie through his teeth by blaming Jennifer for setting him up. He will claim that she took off and staged the blood and cleanup scene at her home just to get back at him. Reminds me of an old film, the name of which I've forgotten.

Makes me so flipping angry, these men who believe they're owed anything they want, and will destroy everything and anyone in their way.

Let's hope he made more mistakes, especially regarding surveillance video evidence.

Sounds like the plot to “Gone Girl.”

Jennifer ain’t walking through that door though.

I don’t doubt for a second that when the day comes, if not sooner, he will hire a high priced attorney to defend him.

Ironic, because as he tells it, he’s destitute.

I would love to see how that story would hold out. She was desperately fighting to get them away from him. The idea that she would execute a plan that would guarantee she would most likely lose full custody and probably never see her kids again is absurd. My guess is between the law suits, financial issues, custody issues, and narcissistic, violent temper, he probably did away with her thinking it would guarantee him custody with her out of the picture. Notice how he wanted to proceed with the custody hearing on Wed. while all of this was going on.

Assuming this is going the way it seeems.. I really cannot understand these types of cases, especially someone who’s seemingly very well off despite his desperate attempts to show the court otherwise

What sounds better to you: Giving up half to your ex wife and still being able to live a long, happy life and see your kids and mistress/new GF, or spending life in a tiny cell with nothing until the day you die?

Just pure narcissism, much like Watts.

Exactly. People like this aren't using the same logic that a normal person would.

Sounds like you might be thinking of the movie “Double Jeopardy” with Ashley Judd & Tommy Lee Jones.

The husband in the movie got his wife drunk while they both were on their sailboat. When she awoke, he was gone. There was blood all over and her husband gone. He had staged what appeared to be a death scene, made it look like his wife had killed him and then disappeared, running off to another state with his gf. She was charged with murdering him and spent 7 yrs in jail.

(Google it to get more info about the story... & why it’s called “Double Jeopardy”)

I went through a very long & very expensive CT divorce, also. We were living in a town close to New Canaan. I had been married for 4 yrs to my 2nd husband, also the sole owner of his contracting business.

I discovered he too had a gf. Within a few days after I confronted him, I was served divorce papers. He said I had to move out of our house and when I refused to, he went to court, obtained a restraining order stating I had threatened to harm him and his 12 yr old son while they were sleeping. Which I didn’t! I was too afraid of him to even argue with him, much less threaten him.

I received the restraining order on a cold January day, during the worst snow storm that year. My attorney called me at work and said I could not go home that night!

I stayed at a friend’s and the next day my sister told me to get & watch the movie “Double Jeopardy”. She advised that I be extremely careful, stay totally away from my house and him, because she was sure my STBX would stage a scene that he was hurt and I caused it, hoping I’d go to jail.

After I was finally able to go home to get some things, I had to have a police escort and I had 15 min to gather some clothes, and as much else as I could get.

There was evidence in our bedroom and bathroom that his gf had been staying there!

My divorce took 2 yrs, then went to trial. I could go on and on about the fear I had, what all he did to me & my sons, our cars, his lies about how his company wasn’t making money, his hiding money, how the attorneys kept prolonging the divorce and kept billing me, etc etc etc.

I was told that he hired a few of his guys from his company to flatten my car tires, and my sons’ on several occasions. In the end, my divorce ended up costing me much more than I was awarded. It was the worst thing I’ve ever gone through.

Anyway, enough about my CT divorce. I meant to just comment about the movie “Double Jeopardy”, but got carried away.

Jennifer Dulos’ case is bringing back so many memories of my being so scared of my then STBX.

I’m just so glad I didn’t have kids with my ex and didn’t go thru a custody battle with him.

ETA: The most devastating thing was how he lied during the trial and charmed the lady judge, with his fake charisma.

But then I had to remind myself how he charmed me, too! And so many others. So typical of a narcissistic, sociopathic creep.

I recall reports that STBX is an avid water skier -- don't want to think of those photos soon to surface.
They aren't hard to find on SM if you were to look....just saying!

A homicide investigation, how terrible for the children and Jennifer's parents.

nearly 500 court filings ! wow. certainly plenty of motive here.

I wonder if Jennifer is in the water, given that the husband is such a fanatic water skier . I expect he has a boat, and it's possible her car was staged as a red herring.
There are some large reservoirs in the area but access isn't the easiest. Will look at the local map and see if there are any large ponds nearby the house.

Law enforcement has a lot going for it here.

Obviously they don’t want to get “tunnel vision,” but it’s not hard to figure out what the likely motive was, and who the perpetrator is.

This crime happened in the daytime, and Jennifer was reported missing relatively quickly (hours, not days).

Cameras see better in the day (obviously), and I’m sure there’s going to be no shortage of video.

It sure is an odd time to do something like this, especially if you plan on cleaning up, dumping the car, and concealing the body.

That could potentially mean that this wasn’t planned, or atleast planned well.

Mistakes are made in well planned crimes, but tend to be greater in more spontaneous ones.

Either way, whoever did this is in big trouble.

I agree, but like others here have said, he probably hired guys to hurt and do away with Jennifer, making sure he has alibis and witnesses to prove he was nowhere near New Canaan the day Jennifer went missing.

Farmington is quite always from New Canaan, approx 1.5 hrs away, up by Hartford towards Massachusetts. No way, in my opinion, would he do this himself.

He lives in Farmington but he builds homes in Fairfield County, so it is not totally unlikely he would be in New Canaan.

I am guessing that whoever did this had a pretty good idea of her schedule. Knew that she would be dropping off the kids at a certain time and would be coming home after. Maybe the timing was coordinated to avoid having the kids and nanny in the home and day time was the only time to do that. Also most people are at work/out and about during the day so neighbors could be less likely to notice what was going on. I am sure they will be/ are talking to neighbors.

Yes, you’re correct. But I doubt he would allow himself to be in Fairfield County the day he knew she would disappear.

Plus, even if Jennifer’s neighbors were home at the time, I doubt they’d see or hear anything.

The properties on her street are large, the houses are huge & set back from the road, hidden by tall trees/shrubs and have long driveways.

Absolutely. The timing wasn’t a coincidence. She probably got home from dropping off the kids, and was surprised by the perpetrator who was already in her home.

And in a neighborhood like that, I’m sure there are no shortage of “Ring” type cameras

Yes that is what I was thinking. I am surprised that Jennifer did not have security cameras on her property or in the home with her fears of her husband and also having nannies. I hope that there will be some kind of footage that will help to identify a person or at least a car.

If not in that neighborhood, there will be footage elsewhere.

Whoever did this, had to arrive at her house somehow, and we know this person left in her car.

It’s there. It has to be.

It appears from google maps that they are on a cul de sac surrounded by three other homes. There definitely trees and the houses are far enough apart that no sounds would be heard, probably even screaming.
