I hear your point but if he were trying to win you would think he would get with the process and not be cited multiple times for contempt IMO?He has been fighting awfully hard for two years for full custody of his five children and he hates to lose, so if he just up and left the country it would mean to me that he knows he is guilty and he has to get out.
What is puzzling to me is that when you read through the early documents and into the mid 2018 period that his tactics seemed to focus on delay delay delay, especially regarding any financial disclosures. I am not 1/2 way through the documents that are public but I'm not yet convinced the court has received full financial disclosure from STBX which given the case is 2 yrs old seems a bit extreme. I wonder (again MOO and pure speculation here) if he was using this time to move cash outside the US? Or, was he not providing information simply to be difficult?
But what was surprising is that he seemed to be short of cash or using being short of cash as an excuse on an ongoing basis in court documents. The documents tell the story of how JD took sick children to the doctor, presented her health insurance cards and was told her insurance was no longer active due to non payment. You have to wonder what father wouldn't want his children to have health insurance to be well? But to use dropping health insurance as a tactic in a divorce? This is when I seriouly wonder about his connection to his children as IMO dropping the insurance was cruel and unnecessary. When JD went to the court to request the reinstatement of the health insurance (court had previously manded that STBX maintain health coverage for his entire family), his response to JD was, "...to pay out of pocket". To me at least it says alot that someone would be so vindictive and petty so as to discontinue health insurance for his 5 children. The children and JD are lucky that she had the financial means to support and care for them. Can you imagine a less financially well off spouse handling a situation of 5 children with no health insurance?
I'd love to see what a trial atty would say about how this case has played out as with over 500 documents it seems the only people that have 'won' in this case have been the attys IMO. My sense it was a big 'win' for JD to get physical custody and limit STBX access to supervised visitation. But so far as I can tell they were still far away from resolution on financial matters and custody. I will keep reading as there is alot of paper here!
