He has been fighting awfully hard for two years for full custody of his five children and he hates to lose, so if he just up and left the country it would mean to me that he knows he is guilty and he has to get out.
I hear your point but if he were trying to win you would think he would get with the process and not be cited multiple times for contempt IMO?

What is puzzling to me is that when you read through the early documents and into the mid 2018 period that his tactics seemed to focus on delay delay delay, especially regarding any financial disclosures. I am not 1/2 way through the documents that are public but I'm not yet convinced the court has received full financial disclosure from STBX which given the case is 2 yrs old seems a bit extreme. I wonder (again MOO and pure speculation here) if he was using this time to move cash outside the US? Or, was he not providing information simply to be difficult?

But what was surprising is that he seemed to be short of cash or using being short of cash as an excuse on an ongoing basis in court documents. The documents tell the story of how JD took sick children to the doctor, presented her health insurance cards and was told her insurance was no longer active due to non payment. You have to wonder what father wouldn't want his children to have health insurance to be well? But to use dropping health insurance as a tactic in a divorce? This is when I seriouly wonder about his connection to his children as IMO dropping the insurance was cruel and unnecessary. When JD went to the court to request the reinstatement of the health insurance (court had previously manded that STBX maintain health coverage for his entire family), his response to JD was, "...to pay out of pocket". To me at least it says alot that someone would be so vindictive and petty so as to discontinue health insurance for his 5 children. The children and JD are lucky that she had the financial means to support and care for them. Can you imagine a less financially well off spouse handling a situation of 5 children with no health insurance?

I'd love to see what a trial atty would say about how this case has played out as with over 500 documents it seems the only people that have 'won' in this case have been the attys IMO. My sense it was a big 'win' for JD to get physical custody and limit STBX access to supervised visitation. But so far as I can tell they were still far away from resolution on financial matters and custody. I will keep reading as there is alot of paper here!

Probably. FD’s GF arrived at their home and then went inside to get a bag for her daughter and sent her and the nanny off, probably to nanny’s home. I wonder if LE had a search warrant and told her to do this instead of allowing her daughter and nanny to stay at the house while FD & GF were taken to PD for questioning.

MOO

Curious to know if anyone watched what the GF put in the daughter’s bag (for the Nanny to take).

I’m sure each state has different requirements in filing for divorce but I’m guessing the financial documents and affidavits would be the early part of discovery - I believe he was stalling and using every legal means to delay and agree that he may have used this time to move money since he was no longer making loan payments JMO hoping to hear something regarding the Farmington home search warrant

In the divorce documents FD accused her of taking 'pychotic' and
anti-anxiety drugs which he believed made her an unfit parent.
That's the only suggestion I've seen of her being mentally impaired. It's the old story of him trying to make her appear
'crazy'.

Yeah, he makes her crazy and then uses that against her. I hate dirty tricks like that. IMO.

Replying to Afitzy here: Sorry about that!

He probably legitimately didn't have the money. He sponged off of her parents exclusively.

Just wanted to clarify something discussed upthread as I was confused about some of the statements about the nature of the investigation (homicide/no homicide in particular vs statement about criminal investigation).

Here is link to local paper which I believe to be correct on this point: Police on Missing Woman: ‘We Have Not Classified This Case as a Homicide’:

Police on Missing Woman: ‘We Have Not Classified This Case as a Homicide’

"Contrary to some published reports, investigators have not classified the missing person and criminal case as a homicide, according to New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro, the department’s public information officer.

“We have not recovered a body,” Ferraro said in a press release. “We will not discuss any possible persons of interest/suspects as this investigation is active and ongoing. We will not discuss any evidence that has been recovered at this time during our investigation. We have not arrested any individuals in this case.”

The Hartford Courant stated, "The case, authorities say, is being treated as both a missing persons case and a criminal investigation". Here is link to this article: Search for New Canaan mother Jennifer Farber Dulos continues as police obtain warrant to search husband’s Farmington home

If others on here find conflicting statements or further clarifying statements please post them as I have seen a number of different descriptions of the investigation.

Some of the court documents are sealed so its hard to see if any financial information was presented. I have been operating under the assumption (maybe incorrectly) that the sealed documents relate to issues pertaining to the children or doctors or expert sensitive testimony about the parties involved in the case. But maybe the sealed documents also relate to financial information? I don't yet know what if any financial information from STBX is held by the court yet. I have seem multiple requests for information but then don't see compliance with the information requests. Will keep reading.

Does anyone know at what point the nanny took the children to their grandmother’s? Was that part of an action plan (“if anything happens to me, take the kids to my mother’s”) in place.

I’m also curious about the guardian ad litem, and if that move had to be cleared with that person, as it involves custody and crossing state lines.

Did anybody else see the Maryland plate on the Black SUV STBX was driving to leave the property with police on the video? Wonder what the Maryland connection is here? I'm not 100% certain it was Maryland so please correct me if I'm wrong here.
Nice catch on the plate. It’s a Maryland plate.

The nanny supposedly took the children to the grandmother when the mother wasn't available or able to be located after school is what I understand to have happened. I'm unclear though if the GAL process was in place or was just being introduced by the Court. If the GAL was in place then I guess technically the nanny would have had to have clearance to move the children. But my suspicion is that people were scared, children were tired and hungry after a day at school, friends were in a panic that JD had missed 2 appts and couldn't be located and people did the best they could to keep the children safe and well cared for. Can anyone imagine 5 children tired at the end of the day wondering where Mom is and not understand why she wasn't around? Must have been a very difficult situation for the nanny but she seems to have done a good job taking care of the children IMO. Thank goodness also that JD had friends in town as they no doubt helped this situation during a period of chaos and high stress.

Based on everything I've read about FD, he came first. What a guy. Those poor children.

Has anything been said about surveillance video from her rental? I would imagine a house of that size would have cameras everywhere, but I don’t recall reading about any. Curious to see if she had any & what they showed from that day if she did.

Greece has had an extradition treaty with the US since 1932.
Not sure what running away to Greece would do except lengthen the time of freedom, if he is guilty.

By himself, he wouldn’t necesssarily run off to Greece. With a non-US passport, he could go anywhere, I would think. We don’t know yet what his real money situation is, either-he may have some of the money her parents loaned him put away in a foreign bank.

No info in MSM or police statements on CCTV in NC so far as I have read. Rumors as always however are a whole different story! I think we do have one MSM comment from the owner of the Hartford bakery where so much activity happened yesterday. The bakery owner told the press that police looked at all of the CCTV footage. The reporter also stated that the police were going house to house seeking more footage in the Hartford neighborhood that was searched yesterday.

As far as I know from my own Fairfield County, Ct divorce in 2000-20002, it states that money and assets can not be moved after the divorce papers were filed. However, my STBX cashed in our CDs, put a lot of money & assets in his sons name, after papers were served.

Despite my filing several motions of contempt (adding to the cost of my divorce each time), he stalled and delayed, postponed court dates, lied, never did as he was told to do by the judge and was only verbally reprimanded.

I was so frustrated at what all my STBX was getting away with, despite that he was obviously in contempt.

I had a group of highly recommended attorneys, but after it was all over, I felt I had been taken advantage of (charged for every call I made, every email I sent them) and didn’t do enough to show my ex’s illegal business activities (lying on business tax papers, number of employees he had, 3 vs 15 actually, paying them under the table, his shadiness, his being in contempt, his lies, etc)

I could go on and on, but it’s just frustrating me and bringing back the horrible memories of fear I had and the hell I went thru. Plus, I’m sure you get the picture.

Like I said earlier, my divorce cost me more than I was awarded.

I'd like to know how FD originally won admittance to Brown U. and then Columbia? Was he that academically gifted that he
got a scholarship? From his FB looks like he lived and breathed
water skiing competitions. Can't imagine that having water skiing
titles would enable him to win acceptance at either of these schools.
Did he come from money? What was his ticket?
